Chapter 1530:

Unlike Alec and the others, who seemed unconcerned, there was a visible tension on Jarrod's face.
Despite Alec's pleading, Jarrod's resolve remained unwavering. “There is no rest. “We keep going.”
The information they had gathered suggested that Nicole was in no immediate danger, but the fact that she had abandoned her bracelet was a sign of potential trouble. Even if the mountain people did not recognize the bracelet's true value, its value as gold was not lost on them.
Jarrod couldn't shake the nagging unease this realization produced, making rest impossible.
Recognizing Jarrod's unwavering determination, Alec quickly consumed two pieces of jerky, washed down with a drink of water, before falling in behind Jarrod.
With their robust physique and the keen tracking abilities of their canine companions, they continued their energetic pursuit.
Meanwhile, after a tiring journey, Nicole and the old man finally arrived at the base of the Valley of the Witches.
Nicole looked up at the peak imposing, her silhouette standing out among the surrounding peaks. The Valley of the Witches had a distinctive shape, like that of a mystical creature ready to ascend to the heavens.
However, the mountain's picturesque appearance belied the malevolent activities lurking within its depths.
Sensing Nicole's apprehension, the old man stopped and decided not to venture any further for the moment. He found the root of a sturdy tree to perch on, picked up his pipe and carefully lit it before taking a drag.
Nicole's anxiety grew as she pondered Roscoe's fate, unsure of the dangers he might face if he had really been captured. Eager to move on, she made to continue, but was stopped by the older man, who gently blocked her path.
"Patience, my dear," he said slowly. "Let me finish smoking and we'll go on together." Nicole, overcome with anxiety, found comfort in the old man's serenity, which forced her to be patient.
As the old man sipped on his pipe, his calm demeanor remained intact, his gaze fixed on the secret location of the witch clan hidden in the valley.
At last he put out his pipe, rose with deliberate slowness, and removed his tire. “Let us proceed,” he announced calmly.
Nicole and the old man set off into the valley, their familiarity with the terrain lessening the feeling of unfamiliarity. Nicole, armed with the sulfur powder the old man had provided to deter snakes, navigated the winding paths with cautious determination.
