Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 1486
Chapter 1486:
? ? ? ? ?
With no room to sit or stand inside, Nicole had the old woman sit on the steps and, for comfort, unbuttoned her shirt before going back inside to check on Jamie, who was still breathing, albeit weakly.
Nicole sensed something was wrong. Circumstances seemed beyond what Jamie could have accomplished on her own. Who would have a motive to hurt Jamie so badly?
Nicole had despised Jamie in the past, but she couldn't fathom that he would support such a brutal punishment. She firmly believed that justice should be served by law, not through personal vendettas.
Shortly after, authorities arrived, documented the harrowing scene, and paramedics took Jamie away for medical attention.
Nicole and the old woman accompanied the police to give their statement.
Meanwhile, back at the villa, Alec was updating Jarrod. “Mr. Schultz, his wife first visited an old-fashioned neighborhood with Officer Castro, and went to the home of a former colleague where an apparent suicide attempt had occurred. “She then went with them to the police station to give a statement.”
Jarrod's expression remained stoic and unreadable.
Alec continued, worried, “Should I investigate further? “I suspect she might be involved in something questionable.”
Alec was growing increasingly worried. He had warned Jarrod about Nicole from the beginning, but Jarrod hadn't listened.
Jarrod, seemingly unfazed, told Alec, “Your role is to ensure her safety, not to watch her. Unless it’s directly related to your safety, keep it to yourself.”
Alec was surprised by Jarrod's order, which revealed a deep and irrational love.
Frustrated, Alec tried to speak again, only to be cut off by Jarrod's disdainful command. "Why are you still standing here? Go away."
With a hesitant nod, Alec left the room, only to return moments later, looking worried. “Sir, Mr. Hampton has arrived.”
As always, Alec's worried expression indicated either a difficult situation or the need for persuasion. This time, it was clearly the former.
The Hampton family had tried in vain to contact Jarrod through Alec, a clear indication of the Schultz Group's reluctance to engage in relationships.
Despite this, Wayne, unfazed by the lack of response, had personally gone to confront Jarrod, unwilling to be ignored like his numerous phone calls.
Jarrod agreed, “Show him to the reception room.”
Jarrod then walked gracefully towards the floor-to-ceiling window, his tall, slender figure radiating undeniable charisma.
