Nicole watched their exchange in silence.

Given the couple's youthful appearance, it suggested the possibility that they might marry without their parents knowing. Despite their playful bickering, their affection for each other was evident.

Their simple and open display of affection was something Nicole found sendable. Listening to them lifted her spirits.

The girl offered Nicole some candy to celebrate the marriage.

“Miss, try some candies. I selected them myself. “They are all delicious.”

Nicole didn't like sweets, but the girl's radiant smile made it hard to turn them down. She selected a piece of chocolate and said, "Thank you."

“Grab one for your boyfriend,” the girl suggests.

Feeling uncomfortable, Nicole commented, “He doesn't really like sweets.”

But as he spoke, Jarrod said, “I’ll try one.”

Once again, Nicole was left speechless.

The girl reached out to Nicole and suggested, “Miss, you should give one to your boyfriend.”

Nicole, unable to refuse, selected a chocolate for Jarrod. I have promptly unwrapped it and savored it.

Nicole did the same, under the girl's watchful eye.

The chocolate had a subtle bitterness that transformed into a sweet and aromatic flavor, resulting in quite delicious.

The girl, watching closely, asked Nicole with hopeful eyes, “Miss, is it delicious?”

“Mm, it’s delicious,” Nicole confirmed.

“I knew I would be,” the girl said with a giggle. “Even though I can't test it myself, I made sure to pick a good one based on a lot of research.”

Curious about the girl's statement, Nicole asked, "What happened to your sense of taste?"

The girl explained grimly: “I have had chemotherapy several times. Now, I can’t taste anything at all.”

Hearing this, the girl's boyfriend's expression darkened noticeably.

Nicole froze, shocked by the gravity of the situation. “I'm sorry, I had no idea…”

The girl offered her a reassuring smile. “It's okay, Miss. I've been dealing with this for quite some time now and I've come to terms with it. Once my boyfriend and I get our marriage certificate, we plan to travel the world. Just thinking about that adventure makes me excited.”

The girl's boyfriend intervened worriedly: "Make sure you continue taking your medication on time. Otherwise, I won't let you go."

The girl responded with a mixture of defiance and humor: “Oh, I never forget to take my medicine.”
