Innocent Little Runt -
Bonus Chapter
Xavier’s POV
“Celeste,” I whisper and shake my mate’s shoulder gently. She g****s and pulls the blanket up. “Wake up.”
“Go. The f**k. Away.” I glared at her, placing my hand on the blanket and pulling it away from her. One of her eyes popped open and she gave me a cold glare. I lay back down on my side, facing my beautiful mate. Her eyes, three different shades of brown draw me in despite the cold glare. I wrap my arm around her, enjoying the sparks between us. “Let go of me,” she demands but I can feel her getting moving closer to me. “You woke me up and now you’re in trouble.”
“You know that’s not true.” I k**s her forehead and run a hand through her hair. Over the years she had grown her hair out to just past her shoulders but she would trim it if it got too much longer. “You love me too much.” She lays her palm against my chest, feeling my heartbeat. I could practically feel her smiling.
“Mommy! Daddy!” I didn’t even get a chance to look back before our forty pound son hopped on me. I g***n as his elbow lands on my stomach and Celeste giggles.
“Good morning my little Maxillius,” Celeste whispered. She wrapped her arms around our son and hugged him close. I smiled at my mate and my son. They’re the most important people in my life and they’ve made the last few years of my life amazing.
“Do I get no hugs this morning?” I place a hand over my heart and wince as I see Maxillius peak a look at me. “You hurt me son,” I whisper, adding in a whimper and fall back on the bed. I smile as I feel his weight move around and feel him k**s my cheek.
“All better Daddy!” I laugh and move my arms around my son. I pick him up and set him on the ground, getting up to grab his hand.
“Where are you two going?”
“To make breakfast, what do you want?” She frowned and tugged on her sleeves.
“I can come help.” I gave her a smile, letting go of Maxillius’ hand to go back to Celeste and press a k**s to her lips.
“Don’t worry about it today. I’ve got it. Now what do you want?” She smirked.
“I want waffles and a fruit smoothie.” I nodded. I could do that. “And bacon!” Of course, I chuckled. I pressed another k**s to her lips.
“No problem. Now go take a relaxing bath,” I whispered and she nodded. I walked over to Max, grabbed his hand again, and walked out of the room. When we got downstairs Lesa and Wesley were already eating, Wesley’s eyelids drooping. I chuckled as Max ran up to them and sat next to Wesley, going off into some rant about his dream. Max has always been such a hyper child in the morning, usually being up before Celeste and I.
I started to make breakfast and made myself a cup of coffee. I took a sip of the hot drink and sighed. I had been worrying about tonight all week. I didn’t want to over do anything but I wanted to make it memorable. Today has always been a memorable day but this time I want to make it even better, especially for Celeste.
“Daddy! I’m hungry!” I went over to Max and ruffled his hair.
“You whine like that and you’ll stay hungry,” I say jokingly. He pouts but nods anyway. I finish making a few waffles and place one on a plate in front of Max. As I was about to pour him a glass of milk Celeste walks in and her scent flows into my nose. As soon as she gets closer to me I pull her into my chest and place my lips on hers. She wraps her arms around my neck making Wes and Max pretend to gag and then laugh with each other. Celeste and Lesa giggle as well.
Celeste grabs herself a plate and sits down next to Lesa. I smile and go over the plans for tonight in my head.
~*~*~*~*~
“Xavier, where are we going?” Celeste puts her hand on the blind fold but I force it back down. I don’t want her to see before we get there.
“Some where, now stop asking.” I take her towards where I have a blanket and meal set out, kind of like when we just met. I help her sit down and she feels her hands along the blanket, trying to get a hint. I slowly untie the blindfold and remove it from her eyes.
“The flower field? Why’d you blindfold me if we were just coming out here?” I chuckle.
“For two reasons. The first is because I can and the second you can figure out in a few minutes,” I say and point towards the setting sun. I sit next to her and pull her on my lap. Her head rests on my chest as we stare at the sunset. As the sun slowly sets, the sky begins to darken making the lights set up all over the field light up.
Celeste gasps as the flowers are illuminated, making multiple colors shine through the night’s darkness. “Xavier. . . You didn’t have to do all of this.” I take hold of her chin and tilt her head towards me. I focus on her eyes, trying to figure out all of her emotions.
“Do you know that on this exact date six years ago, I found you?” Her eyes widened and I saw guilt flash through her eyes. I chuckled at her. Of course she wouldn’t remember, I wouldn’t expect her to. So much happened so quickly back then.
“Really? Has it been that long?” I nodded.
“Six years ago you came into my life and changed it for the better. It may have been difficult for us but here we are, raising a son and f**k it you look so beautiful right now.” I slam my lips to hers, tangling one of my hands in her hair. Her hands move, one going around my neck as the other tugs on my hair. My free hand pulls her as close to me as I can as our lips never leave each others. When she pulls away she’s out of breath and so am I. “Marry me Celeste.”
Her breathing seems to stop all together as her eyes widen in shock. “What?” Her voice was breathless and small.
“Marry me,” I repeat. “You already wear my mark and we already have a child. Marry me. It’s the last thing I can think of to make us official. I wouldn’t want to miss a single thing when we could easily get married. Like us spending months planning it perfectly together. Like you insisting on having multiple cakes because choosing one flavor would be injustice. Like you walking down the aisle in the white dress that I know Lesa will insist on helping you find. Like me yanking it off of you later that night,” I say with a smirk and a blush rises up her cheeks. “So what do you say little one? Will you marry me?”
“Yes,” she whispers and pulls my lips back to hers.
