Chapter 76

Celeste’s POV

Xavier had me stay in our room while the pack was cleaned up. He didn’t want me to see them burning the experiments bodies. That didn’t stop the smell that drifted into the room. I just grabbed all of the scented candles that I have in the bathroom for when I want to relax and lit all of them. It wasn’t exactly pleasant but it wasn’t as bad as the smell of burning bodies.

I turned on the television as I tried to ignore the sounds of the large fire that was going on not too far from the balcony. I wanted the memory of this fight gone. Everyone did.

Jared seemed over protective of Zay now. It was understandable of course. His sister had died, like actually died. I remember his screams when he saw her. Everyone was devastated. I couldn’t even look at her but Jared was the most heart broken, perhaps second next to Kaleshia. Thanks to Kaleshia though, she is back. Kaleshia says she is immortal now but that it was the only way she could save her. I don’t know how Zay will react when she hears that. After she woke up and calmed Kaleshia down she passed out.

I had been helping with the injured but with the help of everyone who knew anything that could help it didn’t take too long. Just two, maybe three hours. It was taking them a lot longer to gather and burn the experiments bodies. I just wish it would be over.

“Celestial?” A knock sounded on the door just as Lycer’s voice came through. I smiled. I needed a better distraction anyways. I turned off the TV and walked over to the door, opening to reveal a now showered Lycer. Everyone had been pretty messy after the fight. I’m pretty sure I was the only one who wasn’t covered in b***d.

“Hey,” I smiled at him. He smiled back and ruffled my hair, making me scowl. I sat on the bed, Lycer sitting next to me.

“Why didn’t you fight back?” I looked at him confused. “When that woman, Suka, got you. Why didn’t you fight back?” I froze. “I think I already know but I want it to be confirmed.”

He was my best friend, my protector. He deserved to know. Right? I wanted to tell Xavier first though and I had already told Zay. Xavier won’t think that’s odd though. She is the pack doctor after all. Will Xavier be mad at me if I tell Lycer before him? I shook off that thought. Xavier wouldn’t be mad at me. He would be too busy being excited and happy. . . Right?

“I didn’t fight back because. . . Because I’m pregnant.” I take a deep breath and look down. “I didn’t want to harm the baby so I just let her do whatever she wanted.” I cautiously look up to him, expecting him to be mad at me for not fighting back when we had been training so much. What I saw was basically the opposite. A bright smile occupied Lycer’s face and he jumped up, bringing me into a gigantic hug.

“I’m so happy for you Celestial.” A smile made its way to my lips.

“Really?” He nodded and set my feet back on the ground.

“Have you told Xavier yet?” I shook my head. “Then tell him tonight. He deserves to know as soon as possible.” A frown came to his lips.

“What’s wrong? I thought you said you were happy.” He brushed his blond hair away from his eyes.

“I am and I’m excited for you but that only makes what I’m about to say harder for me.” Great, now I was frowning.

“What?” I was trying to delay time so I spoke that one word a bit slowly.

“I’m leaving.”

And there goes my happiness. “What?”I felt my knees give out from under me. Lycer quickly grabbed onto me and sat me down on the bed.

“Why?” I looked up at him, tears in my eyes. “It’s over now Lycer. Malum is gone so please don’t leave me. You’re my best friend,” I whisper as my heart shatters.

“I know Celestial, but I have things that I need to do. I’ll be back, I promise I will be. Now that I know you’re safe from Malum I can do what I need to do. . . finding my father being one of them. Be patient and I’ll be back before you know it.” I nodded, tears in my eyes. “I already told Xavier and all of them. I’ll be leaving in the morning.” I nodded, a frown on my lips. The doorknob jiggled and the door opened, revealing Xavier. Lycer smiled and leaned down to my ear. “Tell him,” he whispered and I nodded.

Lycer nodded to Xavier and walked out of the room. Xavier walked into the closest and then over to me with new clothes in his hand. I leaned up and wrapped my arms around his neck. He held onto me as he leaned down to press his lips to mine. “I love you,” I whisper.

“I love you too little one.” I smiled at the nickname. Others may think it’s stupid but I love it. “I’m going to go take a shower, care to join me?” I smiled and ran to the bathroom to heat up the water. Xavier took a few minutes as he got clothes for me. I slipped off my pants and underwear, shoving them in the laundry basket we have in there. As I heard the bathroom door close I unbuttoned Xavier’s shirt that I was wearing. I slipped it off of my shoulders and Xavier put his hand on my h*p, using his other one to pull the shirt off of me. He took his hand off of my h*p and undid my b*a, slipping that off as well. Without even looking back at him I walked into the shower, him walking in moments later. I sighed as he wrapped his arm around my waist, sparks going throughout my body.

“Xavier,” I whispered in a bliss like state as the water washed over us.

“Yeah?” I tilted my head back to look him in the eyes, his beautiful green eyes that always reminded me of the forest.

“I’m pregnant.” He froze. I bit my l*p as I felt tears form in my eyes.

“What?”

“I’m pregnant,” I said firmly as I shoved his arms off of me and left the shower. I wrapped a towel around me and went back to the room, grabbing a pair of clothes that didn’t belong to Xavier. I had the shirt halfway on when a hand grabbed onto my wrist. I clenched my jaw and turned around to glare at Xavier but instead Xavier grabbed my waist and smashed his lips to mine. I wanted to push away but I couldn’t. He wouldn’t let me.

Eventually Xavier pulled back, resting his forehead against mine. “Are you not happy or something,” I whispered. “Is that why you froze when I told you?” Xavier’s eyes darkened.

“Don’t you ever think that I would be upset about something like this.” My eyes scanned over his features, making sure he wasn’t going to snap or something. “Look at me.” I did as he said.

“Then tell me how you feel about it because I can’t figure it out.” A light came in his eyes.

“I’m happy.” My lips twitched up in a smile. “I’m so f*****g happy. I told you before that I want a family and now we’re going to have one. Goddess, I’m so happy.”

“Really?” I looked up into his green eyes, a hopeful glint in mine. He just smiled and smashed my lips against his.
