Kody helps me despite the fact that I don’t actually need his help. I feel great since Owen gave me the antidote. He turns on the shower and insists on staying in the room but not in the shower.

I head down to the kitchen where Tessa and Sadie have put together a picnic for us. They are so wonderful. They were more than happy to help me set this up. They really want Kody to be happy.

I want him to be happy too, happy with me and when we find our other mate happy with them. I secretly hope our other mate is a female because I really want Kody to be the only man in my life. He’s so damn important and I feel like if our mate is also a man he’d feel replaced.

I could never replace him. He is to me what the sun is to the moon. He is my eternal love, the source of all the light in my life.

I’m daydreaming when he emerges from the house, the sun bathing him in it’s warm golden light making him look like an angel here to save me.

He makes me follow him to one of the packs ATVs. He says it’s too far to walk to go where he’d like to take me. Half an hour later he stops and we are looking out at the water and a picnic table covered in leaves and webs.

“What is this place?” I ask curiously.

“This is where I became Kody Matthews. Sadie, Tessa and Brandon brought me here and then told me my name”.

I was not expecting him to bring me to some place so important to who he is. At most I was expecting a spot he likes to go to so he can be alone.

I smile at him and lay out the blanket the girls gave me. He lays down and looks up at the sky. I bring the basket over and take out some of his favourite fruits. The girls cut all the melons into hearts but thankfully left all the strawberries as is.

I hold the first one by the leaves and take a small bite before I trace Kody’s lips and kiss him.

“Mm, I can taste it on you.” he bits his lip before asking for more.

I feed him the rest of the berry listening to the sweet sounds he makes while eating the delicious fruit.
