Chapter 6

Bella's

P.O.V

For the past ten minutes, since I had received Asher's text message I had been trying to find the lab, I knew that he wasn't joking. He had ordered me to meet him there in five minutes, but I was already gone late. If I didn't get there soon, I knew that he would actually flush my ID card. I looked down at my phone as another message came through, it was from Asher again.

"Five minutes have passed. How dare you disobey my order! If I don't see your face here in the next 5 minutes, the result will not be pleasant!"

I was so furious when I read his message, the words he used were very threatening. But I knew that after slapping him I didn't want to provoke him any further than I already had.

"I am trying to get there, but I don't know the way. Please give me some more time." I messaged him back, getting an instant reply from him. "You now have four minutes."

I gritted my teeth in irritation as I read his message. Instead of giving me more time like I had asked for, he had taken a minute away from me. I immediately resumed my search even though I had asked many people where the lab was, none of them bothered to answer me or even acknowledge my presence.

There were a few boys that were willing to help me and I was over the moon about it, but then they started flirting with me. I understood that they were just wasting my time by trying to distract me, they only wanted to flirt with me. Even when someone was actually willing to answer me they were deliberately pointing me in the wrong direction, these people were really conniving. They blatantly wanted to get me in trouble by making me later than I already was.

The students that were in groups were angrily staring at me, waiting for me to ask them. Except I knew that as soon as I made the mistake of asking them for help they would surround me and attack, so I stayed away from the werewolf groups. I only petitioned the humans for help which was a waste of time because none of them were telling me the right way to the lab anyways. A full thirteen minutes had passed by now and I was still no closer to getting any help or finding the lab, so I thought about the only person that I knew would actually help me, Lily.

She had already given me her number, the problem was that she was still in class, so the only thing I could do was message her and hope that she would be able to read it.

"Lily, I need your help. My ID card is with Asher, he told me to get to the lab in 5 minutes or he would flush it, but now it has been 13 minutes. I have no idea where the lab is in this school. Can you please tell me how to get there? If I don't get there as soon as possible, I will get into even more trouble than I already am." I messaged Lily as soon as possible, then stared at the screen waiting for a reply. Lily's P.O.V

The teacher continued to take attendance as soon as Bella had left the classroom. Suzy and her group of friends were looking really pleased about it, but I was rather worried about her. Bella had no familiarity with this school or where everything was. This was her first day of school and she had been thrown out of her first class for not wearing her ID card, but come to think of it she wasn't wearing it this morning when I had first met her either.

Ten minutes had passed by when my phone suddenly began to vibrate in my pocket. I secretly took my phone out of my pocket trying to avoid the teacher's prying eyes, thankfully he was teaching at the front of the class. I looked at my screen and saw that it was a message from Bella. Talking or using your phone at any point in class was against the rules of the school, but this was a message from Bella, so I didn't care about the rules.

"Lily, I need your help. My ID card is with Asher, he told me to get to the lab in 5 minutes or he would flush it, but now it has been 13 minutes. I have no idea where the lab is in this school. Can you please tell me how to get there? If I don't get there as soon as possible, I will get into even more trouble than I already am." Bella's message read, I was shocked.

"Oh God, this is a huge mess. You should not make him wait. He is not joking. He will do exactly what he has threatened or worse." I quickly answered her, looking at my book again.

"But I don't know the way, what should I do?!" Bella messaged me in a panic, I understood that the matter had now gotten out of hand. No one was helping her because she slapped Asher. If she truly lost her ID card, she would never be able to attend class. The school would not give out another ID card without knowing a solid reason for the disappearance of the original. It is the student's responsibility to keep it safe. This school was obsessed with rules and discipline.

I looked at the teacher then the clock, seeing that there was still half an hour left before the class finished. I knew that ahead of time, the teacher would never allow me to get out of class early. I immediately took a pair of scissors I kept in my bag for projects, thinking about making a wound in my finger from it. I would have to make this wound deep so that the teacher would allow me to go to the medical room. I was scared before committing to cutting myself as I knew that there would be no small amount of blood involved, but I didn't have time to over think. No allowing my brain time to think it through I made a wound across my palm instead of my finger. I groaned in pain, I had cut myself deeply.

"What's wrong?" The teacher asked, looking at me. I immediately shoved all the books in my bag.

"Sir, I think I need to go to the medical room. I have cut myself." I replied, while grabbing my bag. I showed my hand to the teacher and he nodded enthusiastically. Before he could ask me any additional questions I promptly ran out of the room and called Bella. Bella's P.O.V

I was waiting for Lilly's reply. I was not able to stand in one place because I was running out of time. When my phone began to ring in my hand, I saw that it was Lilly's number.

"Hello Lily." I immediately picked up her call.

"Ok, I got out of the class, I can lead you there. Just tell me where you are right now?" Lily asked, I looked around me. This school was so big and annoying!

"I am near the arts class. It is a class for senior students." I replied to her.

"Ok it means you are too far away from the laboratory. Just run to your right." Lily said, I did what she instructed.

"At the end of the hall you will see the library take a right from there." She stated, I could tell that she was also running. She was breathing hard.

"Can you see me?" She asked, waving her hand. I saw her running towards me. I nodded and we both cut the call.

"TAKE A LEFT!" She shouted, we both ran in that direction.

"Thank you for the help." I said to her and she smiled.

"Don't thank me yet as I haven't finished my work." She replied, running.

"What do you mean?" I asked her. She indicated the laboratory with her hand, where a man was standing.

"They will not let you enter the laboratory without an ID card, that's why I am here so that you can use my ID to enter." She explained, placing her ID in my hand. We both came to a stop in front of the door to the lab.

"Thank you Lily!" I exclaimed. I showed the ID to that man, quickly moving my hand so that he would not see it clearly. I entered the lab and was bent over slightly trying to catch my breath. Upon entering the lab, I noticed that the entire lab was empty. Only two people were present there, Asher and Leo. The Alpha was sitting on his chair like a king on his throne with his loyal beta standing by his side. They both had arrogant expressions plastered on their faces. I was watching Asher while breathing heavily, he was giving me an irritated look. Suddenly his beta's eyes roamed around the room and it appeared as if he was smelling something in the air. His eyes turned toward the window, as if he had found something there.

"Alpha I am leaving." Leo informed Asher. He passed by me, walking out of the room. I glanced back, noticing that he had shut the door behind him. My nervousness was rising with every step away he took leaving that door closed. Why did he need to shut the door?! I was now all alone in the lab with a pissed off Alpha and he had just made my situation worse.

"You, come here!" Asher ordered me close to shouting. Honestly I got scared seeing his angry face. Lily's P.O.V

I saw Bella entering the lab and took a long deep breath. From here she will be on her own in getting her ID card back from Asher's. I was still worried about her, how could I not be she was the first friend I'd had at this school. I did not have my ID so I could not go anywhere, so I decided to wait for Bella until she returned. I was inspecting my wounded palm. Even though it was no longer bleeding, I was painful and sore to the touch.

I took out my phone from my pocket, so that I could use it to pass the time.Out of nowhere someone snatched the phone from my hand. When I peek to find out who my latest tormentor was, I realise that it was Leo. all the colour drained from my face when I saw him. I still remembered the way that his eyes shone in the barely light closet and his dangerous words earlier this morning.

"What... are... you doing here?" I managed to ask him. He had appeared so suddenly that I was becoming skittish seeing him in front of me. I had been so busy helping Bella that I hadn't even thought about the fact that if Asher was present in the lab, Leo would definitely be there with him.

"That question should be mine. What are you doing here?" He demanded, repeating my own question back to me. I saw that he held my phone in his big palm like he would crush it.

"I came here to help Bella. She did not have an ID card and she could not enter without one, so I gave her mine." I replied, it seemed like he was doubting. I got a call on my phone. I tried to see who it was.

"Oliver..." Leo declared, looking at my phone screen,then glancing at me.

"O... Oliver..." I stuttered hearing his name. I tried to take my phone back from him.

"Please give me my phone back." I said to him, he gave me an evil smirk.

"Why? You are looking desperate to answer his call." He sneered,did not let me take the phone.

"Yes, I have to attend this call. Please give it to me." I begged, getting closer to him. As I was about to grab his hand he put his hands up over his head, making it impossible for me to take it back. I was standing much too close to him for comfort as our bodies were touching each other.

"Is he your boyfriend?" Leo asked, I was staring at him.

"It's a personal matter. Please give me my phone." I hedged, he looked irritated by my reply. Abruptly he dropped my phone, I was shocked to see this. It was switched off now.

"Why did you do that!" I almost shouted, sitting on my knees to check my phone. My hand was shaking when I noticed that it was switched off and I could not answer Oliver's call. I saw Leo sitting beside me.

"Next time, do not dare to talk back to me or I will crush your phone with my own hand!" Leo whispered as tears leaked out of my eyes. I could not answer Oliver's call. I do not know what will happen to me now.

Bella's P.O.V

You, come here!" Asher ordered me close to shouting. Honestly I got scared seeing his angry face.I started to walk towards him and my wolf was able to sense his anger. She was getting fearful of him. I stood in front of him as he looked at me up to down. "How minutes late are you?" he asked, I looked at my phone.

"20 minutes." I replied.

"Where the hell were you? How dare you make me wait for you!" he shouted, I only stood there listening to him. I badly wanted to reply to him, but if I did then he would kick me out of the school because of that slap. It had been the biggest mistake of my life when I had slapped him. it fell under school violence. So now I had to just stand here and let him bellow at me to heart's content.

"I was searching for the lab, as it was my first day on campus it took time." I replied, he stood up from his chair.

"No matter what your reason was, you dared to disobey me. So be ready for your punishment 'lone wolf"." he growled the last words with extreme hatred. I could feel he really did hate me, his mate the one chosen for him by the Moon Goddess.

"I am not wrong here. I tried my best to get here, but everyone was telling me the wrong way. Some of them were even trying to..." I was going to tell him about those wolves who were flirting with me, but I knew it was no use. He hated me, so why would he care what happened to me?

"It is not my mistake. No one helped me so I got here late." I said. I noticed that he was too close to me.

"Who would want to help a girl who slapped me?" He quipped with a smirk, blatantly looking at my chest. His hand approached my neck.

"Especially a disgusting lone wolf!" he scoffed, clutched my hand tightly in a fist. He was continuously insulting me. He was calling me disgusting names and touching me without my permission!

"I will not get any kind of punishment." I said, moving back from his hand and staring straight into his eyes. I did not offend him again by shoving his hand. He smirked at me.

"I was not asking you. I am telling you that you will get your punishment for disobedience!" he growled, I was becoming furious. I was done listening to him.

"No! I am not your pet or slave like you said before. As you said I am a lone wolf and I never learned to obey any Alpha or anyone for that matter. You are not my master." I replied; my wolf was begging me to stop, to not to talk back to him, but I did not listen to her. I also thought he would get angry because I insulted him, but he did not. He just sat back down on his chair.

"So you will not obey me?" he asked in a bored tone, I glared at him.

"No!" I answered, I turned to leave the room. As I was going towards the door suddenly I remembered that he still had my ID card, I can not attend my class without it. I turned to him, he was still sitting there and did not know why his face was telling me that he knew I would come back.

"Please give me my ID card." I said, he had a wicked smile on his face.

"Did you forget about your ID when you dared to talk back to me?" he inquired, showing me my ID. It was in his hand, I was afraid that he would crush it. He was slowly crushing it.

"No! Don't destroy it. I will not be able to attend class without it. Please... don't destroy it." I begged in a panic, there was a winning smile on his face.

"This is the face that my slave should have. My slave should have this fear in her eyes and tone when she talks to me." He states,I felt like I would have a heart attack. He was still crushing it. "Please... Don't do it." I continued to plead, he stopped.

"Why? Seeing your pride and arrogance I had assumed that you have an abundance of power and money. It is just an ID card. You can buy it again. You just need to throw some money at the problem and you could get a new one in ten minutes. Why are you begging for this little thing to an Alpha that you hate?" Asher said and I knew he was doing all of this intentionally. He had read my file and knew my financial condition. I could not pay for this.

"I asked why you are begging in front of an Alpha?" he repeated his question, I could only look at him.

"I ASKED WHY YOU ARE BEGGING TO AN ALPHA!!!" he shouted in anger, his control snapping. I couldn't help but flinch in fear. My wolf was not able to bear his rage.

"Because..." I started to say, clutched my skirt tightly in my palms.

"I am poor." I replied, he got up from his chair to hear me. He came closer looking into my eyes.

"Yes, that's right. That is what you are. A poor lone wolf!" he snickered, my eyes were full of tears to hear him.

"If you are done with my insult then may I have my ID back." I muttered, trying to take the ID. But I could not because he put his hand up above his head so that my chest touched his. As our bodies touched my heart speed into a faster rhythm. I hated this feeling most when I was around him, that of losing myself. I tried to move away from him quickly, but he wrapped his hand around my waist, not letting me move.

"Let me go!" I cried, trying to push him away. I used my full strength, but could not move him.

"Let's trade," he said suddenly in a low tone. I stopped pushing him and glaring up to him.

"What do you mean?" I asked, his eyes traveled down from my eyes to lips. As he was looking at my lips I was getting nervous. His eyes moved away from my lips, they made their way towards my neck.

"If you want your ID back, then give me your chain." he decided. My hand reflexively went to the chain I was wearing around my neck.

"What? My chain?" I asked, his eyes were fixed on it.

"No, I can not give it to you." I said, he looked furious.

"Don't you dare to deny me again. If you do not give me your chain then forget your ID card and be ready to say goodbye to this school and your future." He announced, I clutched my chain securely. It was the only chain that I had. My Mom and Dad had brought it to me when I was eight years old. I could not lose it

"But why this chain? Please I can not give you this. It is precious to me." I pleaded, he removed my hand. He got near to my ears and I felt his hand on the back of my neck.

"That is the very reason that I want it. I will snatch away everything that is precious to you," he vowed, as I felt his touch on my neck. He took the chain, threw my ID card on the floor and walked away from me without looking back. Tears came out of my eyes as I watched the last memory of my Mom and Dad walk out of the room in the hands of Asher, an Alpha, my mate, my tormentor.
