His Unwanted Wife Again -
Chapter Twenty-Six
UNEDITED
One Month Later
Nathan swiveled his chair in his conference room around the oval table. His 1 pm meeting with the best private investigator in the business Vick Martinez, was about to begin.
"Have a seat." He points to the chair in front of him."
Vick, a forty-something-year-old man, shook Nathan's hand, took off his brown leather jacket, and seated himself. "Very nice seeing you again sir." "You too. What have you got for me?"
"Unfortunately not much. The airport will not release any footage without a court order and there's a chance that that may already be gone." "What do you mean gone?"
"Deleted sir." "Hmm."
Vick then pulls out this peace or paper that Nathan had previously given to him. It was a typed up list of tabloid company's, reporters, and photographers. I went through all the names only one person was willing to speak to me. He wouldn't give me any clear information but he did say that the day your wife was pictured with Judd, they got a tip on what time to be there."
Nathan clenches his jaw. He was irritated, frustrated, and exhausted. He needed more definite proof.
"No one is willing to discredit themselves," Vick adds.
"I understand." He leans back in his chair. "What do you have on the whereabouts of Judd?"
"His car was found abandoned at a bus station about an hour away from here, and his bank account has been completely emptied." Nathan huffs a laugh. "Have any idea where he's gone or why he left so suddenly?"
"No, but there was apparent damage done to his vehicle."
"Was the car searched?"
"Yes, but nothing was found."
He nods... "That's it?"
"I'm afraid so."
Having nothing left to discuss Nathan dismisses Vick after telling him to continue investing and shuts the door. He puts his palms on the oval table and bows his head in momentary defeat.
No matter how much he tells Sabrina that he believes her, she was not believing him. The only way that their marriage would ever be salvageable is if he could get proof she was set up.
Her and Jasmine were still living with him but Sabrina was actively searching for an apartment. Although he was dreading the day, he wanted to help her financially but he was sure she would refuse.
She wants to do it all with the money she got from selling the house. If only she knew that, that that too was technically their money. He bought the house when she put it on the market. He knew she would, and waited for it. At the time he didn't really understand why he was doing it, but he felt like he couldn't let it go. He planned on telling her eventually.
Suddenly he realized something. That house had security cameras. He set up a system so advanced that it even had an app where he could watch live.
As far as he knows nothing's been touched. That meant that he could go back to when all of this started. He didn't know if there was anything to find but it was worth looking into.
Not even an hour later he was pulling up in the driveway and his security was there waiting for him already. Three men, including Hunter who was hired back. They all enter a small room with multiple monitors on the wall to review footage. "The memory in this system is capable of holding months worth of footage, so let's get started, gentleman." He orders his men before taking a seat in one of the leather chairs.
The cameras were in certain parts of the house. He had one out front, in the garage, even in the kitchen. It was security measures he took to keep Sabrina safe. He even had some added when Sabrina fell into a depression after Auden's funeral. He worried, so he watched her.
He didn't know why he never thought to look at them before. He mostly didn't believe he would find anything. Now it is his last hope.
They found nothing that day or the next but, on the third day as Nathan skimmed through footage of the dining area, he was interrupted. "Sir," Hunter calls. "Think you should see this."
He rolls his chair to get a better viewpoint of the screen. What he sees stuns the hell out of him. His mother in the arms of her limo driver. The pair jump from a limo and stand in front of the garage embracing. "Raise the volume." He commands.
With a reassuring smile, Vivian pulls away from Sam's chest and caresses his cheek. "After all these years of Desmond making me feel like I wasn't as good as his precious Mariel, I will not walk away with nothing. I stuck it out all these years because I'm gonna get at least half of everything he has. I'm not going to stop fighting. He outsmarted me when he gave Nathan The company. At that time I thought it was a brilliant idea because of Sabrina's father." She bites down in her own teeth and makes a tight face. "Sabrina doesn't deserve to have what's mine." Her lips trembled with built-up angry. "Mariel's daughter doesn't deserve to have what's mine and for what my own son did to me, choosing that bitch! Mariel's flesh and blood before his own mother, I won't let their lives be in peace until I have what is mine."
Sam pressed her head back on to his chest. "You will get everything you deserve baby." He kisses her forehead. "Calm down." He gently rubs her head like he was petting a dog. "Let's go now." He guides her toward the entrance of the house. Nathan knew what day this was. She had gone to see her lawyer. She told everyone that she wanted a divorce from Desmond. That was no secret. He did kill her grandchild but now thinking back she never did tell anyone what happened when she filed. She must have thought she was going to get a lot more than she was getting. Desmond was probably on to her money-hungry ways a long time ago.
He wasn't surprised by her statements. As a matter of fact, the corner of his mouth curved into a smile. He smiled because he was always suspicious about her, he never trusted her and it was only when he doubted his own judgment did he try to let her in. His judgment and his instincts were always correct.
"Judd began coming here about a week or so later. Let's jump to then, and check for footage with him and my mother alone."
Sure enough, an hour later, they found footage. Judd, his mother Melinda, and Vivian were sitting on the front porch catching up on years of the sisters not speaking. They fast-forwarded through twenty minutes of this until Melinda leaves Judd and Vivian alone.
"How do I get her alone?" Judd asks Vivian softly.
"I don't know. You're gonna have to figure that out. I can only help you by passing information."
"Do you have anything that can help me?"
Vivian turns and looks towards the door to make sure no one was coming. "Just that they are trying to get pregnant and it's starting trouble in their marriage. Whatever you do, you have to make it believable Judd. Sabrina has Nathan wrapped around her whole arm not just her finger.
He nods... "Is that it?"
Vivian then nods her head and strangely began to smile brightly. It was a fake smile for Melinda who comes in and takes her seat.
Nathan was furious. His heart began pounding and rattling his insides. His jaw clenched down and his fist tighten. He didn't know who he was angry with more Judd, his mother, or himself for not trusting his wife.
He runs irritated fingers through his hair. "Excuse me." He excuses himself. "Keep looking, and record time and dates." He orders his guys before going into the kitchen. He splashes water on his face. He almost wanted to vomit. His emotions
were raw.
His own mother was his biggest enemy. She was a horrible person. He never thought he would even be thinking this but his father may have been the better between the two.
Later, like way later in the morning hours of the night. He was sitting alone in the security room. His stomach was grumbling in need of food but he didn't want to see any. His eyes were burning in need of rest but his mind couldn't let them. His daughter was sleeping and he can't hold his wife so what was the point of going home right now? So, he just sat there and fast-forwarded through clips until Sabrina appeared.
She walks into the kitchen wearing plaid pajamas and goes into the fridge. She takes out a gallon of orange juice and after grabbing a glass from the cabinet pours herself a cup. She then starts pulling things out of the fridge to make herself breakfast.
She gets out her utensils and cutting board.
Then as she sipped on her orange juice and chopped up sweet peppers Vivian comes in looking cheerful.
He puts the volume up.
They conversant about random things from across the counter and then weirdly Vivian asks Sabrina if she would bring her purse from her bedroom. "Would you mind?" She smiles sweetly.
"No, not a all," Sabrina replies and leaves to go get it.
Very quickly and quietly Vivian pulled out a plastic ziplock bag with what looks to be a birth control pill inside. She grabs a can of something from the cabinet and smashes it down. The next thing she did was unbelievable. Nathan began breathing heavily. He was seeing wrong. He had to be seeing wrong.
Nope, he wasn't. She opens the ziplock bag, empties it out in the cup, and stirs it up quickly.
Without hesitation, Nathan smashes the monitor. "Ahhh!" He lets out inner fury and wipes everything from the table, knocking it all down on the floor. He rips another monitor off of the wall and throws it across the room. He picks up a chair and tosses it into the wall and puts his fist through the sheetrock a few times. He trashes the entire room in a fit of blind rage.
Breathing heavily and shaking from inner turmoil he suddenly stops, drops himself on a lone chair in the middle of the room, and covers his face. Papers, Sheetrock, and broken electronics scattered all around him. He did this. He allowed Vivian to live with them and he didn't trust Sabrina. He was supposed to be her protector and he was doing everything but.
