Her Forever -
Chapter 72
Seth
“What? What is starting?” I looked at Sadie, confused. She was about to fall asleep, her eyes were getting heavy, and her breathing started to slow down. We both had a long day, both having our first fight. Of course, it was all my fault, and I should have my balls stuck up on top of the fridge. My love surprised me though. I never knew she had it in her to be such a vixen. Dressing up in that leather outfit was hot as f**k.
Sadie looked up at me and said it again, “It’s starting,” but it came out as Gaia’s voice. Low and a bit of a husky female voice. Caspian purred at the inappropriate time. Damn perve. We all stopped and listened but didn’t hear anything but the crackle of the fire. Using my senses, I filtered through all the smells of the room, the perfumes, the fire, smoke, and leftover dinner. That was when I smelled it. It was the female alpha rogue.
I shifted my head to Marco, who was already running to the door, stripping out of his clothes. I did the same but glanced back at Sadie. She was in a daze and didn’t know what to do. She hadn’t been prepped on what we do when there is a border breach. “Protect King Orion,” I breathed out. She nodded her head proudly while she pursed her lips, and I was out the door.
I hadn’t shifted since we had been home, and it gave me such a rush. The ground was different in our world. When your paws hit the ground, everything felt more fluid. Your paws connect with the ground, and your body melts into it and then springs you back out, almost like a springboard. On Earth, it was running on sand no matter what the terrain.
The smell became stronger as we ran, Marco and I were both gaining, and it only excited our wolves. Caspian howled to let the other warriors know where we were for backup. As soon as we came to the edge of the territory, which was about a 20-mile radius from the packhouse, the lone wolf stood up high on a boulder on the border line while we growled at her.
Her black hair was managed, missing chunks of hair and overall dirty and distressed. There was a massive hole on her right side that had her ribs showing. No b***d was seeping through. It was a real life rogue zombie before us. Her eyes were red like a normal rogue, but a fire was burning inside them. She continued to scratch at the rock. Her nails were sharp and actually causing sparks as it rubbed the weather-worn stone. That was certainly not normal.
“Marco, I think we might have a challenge here.” I mind-linked him.
“There must be some magic going on, or she decided to get wolf nail extensions. I wonder what color she chose?” He mused.
“Bastard, put your head on straight.”
“Aight, aight. Seriously though, maybe magic? Maybe she is a descendent of one of those crazed alphas that renounced Sadie’s parents all those years ago?”
Before Sadie’s parents took the throne, people ruled packs ruthlessly. Lower level wolves were subject to being slaves called omegas since they weren’t strong. They did the chores and the lowly jobs in the packhouse while everyone else lived in luxury. They were whipped, beaten, raped, and so forth. The new rulers deemed it unlawful and wrong, and all wolves that protested were thrown out of their packs by alphas. There were whole packs that ended up going rogue and not even able to keep the packhouses, forcing them to stay in the wild.
The Alphas that stayed true were rewarded handsomely, and the new way of life began. Omegas began helping because they wanted to and were paid. They were given their own homes, living expenditure, schools for their children to attend with upper-ranking wolves, which omegas weren’t allowed before. It is amazing how wealthy a pack could get when everyone was treated fairly.
As years passed, King Emelio said those rogues who wish to re-enter society could go through new training and be placed in a new pack with new jobs. Not many turned up, and small attacks from these packless rogues would try and take women, children, and omegas back with them. When we fought, we were to capture them and give them a choice, another chance. That is where I went a bit crazy and became known for my brutality. I didn’t give them a choice, and as certain as the sun would rise, it was about to bite me in my a*s.
The zombie-like wolf began to change into her human form, the cracks were abnormally loud and painful. She screamed as she reared her head back and howled in her wolf form. It took a full minute for her to change, while Marco and I only took mere seconds.
She was still standing, a bit hunched over, and the side of her body was still missing part of her skin and muscle. Marco couldn’t take his eyes off her, making faces and looking like he was going to gag. The damn fool, and I want him to replace me as alpha?
“My name is Nakita, great-great granddaughter of the great Alpha Marcellus.” Marco and I instantly said, “s**t” simultaneously.
“Good, you have heard of him,” she scoffed.
Alpha Marcellus was a powerful alpha. It was said he had some magic running through his veins from the lineage of his own ancestors. He was strong and could heal abnormally fast, even for a werewolf. He was unstoppable and had hardly any smell, making him hard to track. He led the rebellion of the rogues trying to dethrone the King and Queen. Eventually, the royal armies, as well as other packs wanting peace, prevailed, but no one ever found him or his body.
Marco was trying to keep cool, but I could hear him loud and clear through the mind-link. “f**k, f**k, f**k.”
“Dude, chill. You wear your emotions all over your muzzle.” I chastised.
“Our pack has grown considerably, and we are ready to take back what is ours. We will destroy every omega, woman, and child to get our lands back. No one will be spared. Unless…” she paused for effect. “You hand over Sabrina, Princess of the Moon Kingdom. Her sacrifice will save you all.”
Both Marcus and I growled loudly as well as the other warriors that came through the trees. “There is no way we will give up our princess, not in a million years, so get ready for a fight.” I growled. She left out a scoff and waved her hand behind her. There were rogues, hundreds of them coming down from a distant hill. They were all deranged with wild eyes, broken skin, bones protruding in some places, yet they stood strong. It was a sight I had never seen before. Walking zombie werewolves was all I could think of. What sick s**t is this?
“The hell happened to them?” Marco spoke to no one.
“Magic, dark magic,” Nakita replied, voice raspy. For strength, we traded our appearances, and for that, we will conquer and take back what is rightfully ours.”
“Not in your life would we trade her, you’re in for a fight!” I seethed and turned back to my wolf. In the short time it takes me to transform, a rope tied around my neck laced with silver, wolfsbane, and nightshade. The combination was overwhelming and powerful, but shouldn’t have put me down so easily. It must have been cursed.
Caspian roared in pain and anger. We thrashed and tried to snap at the human rogues as they pinned us down to the Earth. Marco was in the same situation, beaten fairly quickly due to his Beta status. The rest of the warriors stood in shock as their leaders were pushed to the ground. None dared to move for fear of our own demise.
With a swift cut using silver knives, it went down our torsos, deep enough for the b***d to quickly seep out of the wound. We howled for justice and still tried to fight them off, all while Nakita smiled menacingly from the top of the boulder. There was no shame in her naked body. Her animal was in full control. There was no human left in her.
Gracefully, she jumped to the forest floor and walked to us. Her feet were raw, bloody, and caked with mud. My eyes could only see her feet as she stood in front of me. “I will take you, mutt. Then tell the princess that she must come and trade her life for yours. Then kill you anyway,” she cackled. The rest of the warrior rogues laughed a long with her.
“Never, you will never have my mate! You can kill me now!” I growled.
“Oh, I can’t do that, then she will die too. We will just torture you a bit until she shows up. You both have a fairly strong bond. I’m sure she is on her way,” she said in a sing-song voice.
Nakita took the knife and cut it in between my paws. The rope around my neck prevented me from healing, and the b***d continued to spill on the fallen leaves. My howls got louder. How could I have already failed Sadie twice in one day?
“Stop.” An angelic voice spoke through the forest. She was ethereal, the fireflies danced around her head, the white tunic she wore at dinner had small cuts and pieces of dirt spattered on it. Sadie was still the angel I thought she would be, even in this bloody mess. Small woodland sprites danced around her, trying to pull her hair to go back, but Sadie was too brave for that.
“What is the meaning of this?” she said so regal. The queen in her was starting to show.
“I want you to come with us. In exchange, we let go of your mate and let your packs thrive, for now.” Nakita had a wicked grin on her face. There were lies all over it, anyone could tell.
“Sadie, run, go back. We have this under control.” I mind linked.
“Doesn’t look like it, Babe.” She smiled. “Do you trust me, Seth?” I nodded at her, not liking where this was going. “Then trust me when I say I will be alright, prepare for a war. Orion will help us.”
“Don’t, love. Don’t do this.” I pleaded, tears coming from Caspian’s eyes.
“It will all work out, I promise. Mother said this was going to happen, just a bit sooner than we thought, huh?” She petted and smiled at me, and Caspian let out a sigh.
“Release him, Nakita, and I will go willingly.” Her voice was strong, like a true leader. She didn’t show any fear, and authority radiated out of her. I knew she was strong. She just doesn’t know this world and all the s**t that goes with it. I have never been so scared in my life, but damn, this woman makes me feel more emotions than I have ever known.
“I love you, Seth.” She whispered so everyone could hear. The warriors were livid but could only stand and watch.
Nakita grinned wolfishly as she turned back into her diseased wolf and the other rogues in human form, not caring for clothes, grabbed Sadie roughly. There would be bruises on her arm, and I growled and howled for my release. No one can hurt my baby, my sweet Sadie. Sadie gave a scowl at her capture and ripped her arms out harshly. She could overpower them easily.
“Watch it, rogue. I can still kill you,” she growled lowly. The rogues let her be as she followed Nakita into a dark forest with no light, a space known for dark creatures and magic. A place that Sadie knows nothing about.
Marco and I still lay on the ground in wolf form with the ropes around our necks holding us to the ground. It would be a bloody miracle for someone to get these off. I had no energy, it was completely depleted. I clawed the ground and started to whimper as Sadie’s figure started to disappear into the darkness. She looked back in her white night shirt one last time, smiled at me, and blew me a k**s. My heart broke into a million tiny pieces. The love of my life was out of my reach, and I could feel the fury that Caspian used to be.
I would not be able to control him until our beloved came back to us, and we were going to rip everything and everyone to shreds. Not one thing we would leave standing if Sadie didn’t come back to us in one piece. She was my light to my darkness and truly was the savior to my beast.
