Seth had been teased, taunted, and poked. He was done with his mate, trying to be the dominant one. It was sexy as hell at first, but it turned into a rollercoaster he was afraid of. Not being in control was a downfall of his. He liked the control, especially for his mate. She pleasured herself, and he wanted to be the one to do it. He was jealous of her hands, touching what was rightfully his.

Everything about her he wanted.

Seth continued to rub his huge manhood next to her core, causing her to whimper out. Seth grinned wickedly, knowing he could pleasure his mate so much even with a simple touch. Chills ran up her body and Seth growled in approval.

Grabbing her harshly, he put her head up near the pillows. “Baby, you can’t punish your Alpha like that,” he huffed. His beast wanted to come out to play, but he would keep him at bay, for now.

After a good nap and shower, both Seth and I dressed for dinner. We were to look “presentable,” meaning I couldn’t wear my skinny jeans and a tank top. No, Rebecca came into my room to show me how I should look and gave me a rundown on etiquette since King Orion would be here.

Rebecca pulled out a red dress cut dangerously low in the front and had an Earthy Renaissance look. One look at it and Seth’s eyes went immediately to my ladies. “Change,” was all he said as he left the room. Rebecca laughed uncontrollably until I smacked her to cut it out. This was my first big dinner, and I didn’t want to screw it up. I didn’t know what all these women wore!

Finally, Rebecca picked another red dress with a respectable neckline and curled my hair, and painted a dash of makeup on my face. My cheeks were still rosy from earlier, so that earned an excellent smirk from Rebecca.

“Where is Lela?” I asked as Rebecca tied the back of my corset.

“She’s in heat, so her boy toy had to take her out of the pack area to a respectable heat cabin.” My nose twitched as she said the word heat. “You mean, like, what ordinary animals do to get pregnant?” Rebecca nodded her head, “of course, we are part animal.”

“Gracious,” I breathed as I felt my heart leap.

“Don’t worry, your heat will come, and Seth will be the only one to satisfy you. Days upon days of mouth-watering…”

“OK! That’s enough! Thank you!” I put my hands on my ears to get rid of the rambling.

Seth walked in wearing tight black dress pants along with a black dress tunic that was open chested. Holy yummy gumdrops. He looked delectable. Immediately, Rebecca and Seth looked at me, and I blushed with embarrassment. Seth stuck his chest out and sauntered over and pulled me up from my seat. “Do I please you, Mate?” he bragged as he pulled me close. My chest was pressed up against him, enough so he could get a pretty good view of something else.

“Very much,” I whispered while hearing Rebecca clearing her throat.

“You both will be late if you don’t head down,” she announced and walked away.

Going down the stairs, with my arm around Seth’s, we headed to the dining room. The area had low lighting, with candles lit about and two seats just for Seth and me.

“Darling, please come sit,” my mother’s call was urgent as Seth and I heard our shoes walk towards her. Seth pulled my seat out as my mother grasped my hand. King Orion was seated across from me with his mischievous glint in his eye as he rolled his wine in the glass in his hand.

Seth gave out a growl while he gripped his napkin, but I quickly hushed him with my hand brushing his cheek.

Wolves came in and presented us with a large roast. It was a slice of meat I was unfamiliar with because it tasted wild and gamey. It was a taste that I will undoubtedly need to get used to. Luckily, I could munch on salads, vegetables, fruits, and bread until my palette became less resistant.

“King Orion, it is a pleasure to have you here,” my father said curiously.

“Yes, thank you, and to Alpha Seth and Luna, for the accommodations on such short notice. As you know, I never leave the palace, but I want to express my happiness to have the Moon Princess back.” King Orion smiled at me as he raised his glass to drink the green liquid.

“Yes, it is great to have you here,” I spoke cheerfully. You should be in the front row for the large celebration tomorrow so you can witness our customs. Since we will sign an agreement with your kingdom for an alliance, I think it would help both cultures.” Forks dropped, and my parents’ mouths were hung open. The Fae kingdom did not do ally agreements with any nation, especially wolves. Faes were too proud of that.

“D-dear,” my mother said quickly. “What do you mean?” Orion smirked as he continued to drink his wine.

“Yes, Mother, we spoke for a while when I returned from a shift. We think it would be good for both kingdoms, don’t you think? We both realized that stabilizing peace with other countries and helping those weaker than us would only strengthen us. An alliance would more than benefit us; both armies combined could beat any potential threats to whoever attacked either kingdom. After our heartfelt talk, the werewolves and faes would be unstoppable, and King Orion seems to be like-minded in terms of peace. Gaia strongly encouraged it, saying Selene would approve as well.”

Seth looked at me and raised his eyebrow. Then a fangful smile played on his lips. “Have I mentioned my mate is amazing?” Seth growled and nipped at my ear. “So f*****g hot.”

My father started growling and coughing at the same time as Seth’s hands became needy.

“You aren’t mad I hadn’t told you yet? It kind of slipped my mind earlier.” I blushed profusely.

“No, baby, you kept us both occupied.” His nose grazed my cheek, and I couldn’t help but clench my thighs.

“OK, that’s enough.” My father raised his voice. “I just got my little girl back, and mate or not, that is nothing I need to see or smell.” I snickered. “Good job, though, Sabrina. I’m very proud of you.” I smiled widely at my father.

“With that being said,” Orion began. “I will only deal with Sadie on the treaty, not you.”

“Why the hell not?” My father growled. “She isn’t queen yet; she still needs time.” My father’s fist bent the fork, and the table shook.

“Because I trust Sadie. You all know she has been gifted with something special. She calms me, and her aura screams trustworthy.” Orion didn’t falter, and my father’s gaze became softer. He looked at me and nodded and gave a small smile, and I gave one in return.

“Then I will help you, Sadie. We can draw up an agreement after the ceremonies for the pack, and you will be in charge of relations with the Fae Kingdom. Like an ambassador to give you some experience.” Mother gave me an enormous smile and a wink. At least I wouldn’t be pushed to be queen for quite some time.

Dinner went without a hitch for the rest of the night. King Orion actually laughed, laughed at one of my father’s jokes, and got along with everyone. There wasn’t the mysteriousness about the private fae. He really was a breath of fresh air. The warriors even loosened up a bit after Seth told them to relax. Being the insanely jealous type he was, Seth kept me on his lap and circled his thumbs around my waist.

The occasional rubbing of my arms and peppering of k****s on my cheek comforted me. I didn’t want the night to end. My newfound friend of the Fae Kingdom, my parents, and Seth made my heart swell with joy. Even with something out there, an impending war or battle, I felt like it would work out. Things would work out. The supernatural world would be safe on this side of Bergarian.

I was to make sure of it.

As Orion stood in front of the fireplace, telling us tales of his own life, which was dubbed mysterious by everyone in the shifter kingdom.

“Many like to call me a fairy, but I am indeed a fae. There are several levels to our species. One might think wisps are part of it, but they are something different entirely.” Orion sipped his wine while I listened to him intently. He was just interesting to look at and the way he could command a room even though he had very lean muscles, nothing to my big Alpha.

“Pixies are the smallest. They usually stay close to the ground and work with unique elements of nature. The light pixies come out at night to light the way for animals in need. Some are nature pixies to help the plants and some rare animals that take care of young when a parent isn’t around. No one can hear them speak, except for me. They are just nothing but bells and whistles to the average supernatural.”

“Wow, that’s so neat!” I whispered to Seth, who prompt me up on his lap, again. “Mine,” he growled as I waved for Orion to continue, completely ignoring Seth.

“Then we have fairies. They are about a foot tall and can actually use their magic to grow to an average height. I have several working for me, called Molly and Eudora. They keep things tidy and help with my warriors and send messages. They are substantially faster when flying in their more natural size, so they are great messengers.”

“I’d love to visit one day!” I gushed. “What else is in The Light Kingdom?” Seth held me back while my parents laughed at me.

“I’ll get you more books Sadie, it will explain everything. I know you are eager to learn,” my mother said while scratching my father’s beard.

“Yes, there are many wonderful things there.” Orion looked in his empty glass on the mantel. “There are also things there that are not.” Orion wiped away the imaginary dust from his long, lanky fingers and pushed a braid behind his ear.

“In fact, once we resolve this complete rogue situation, maybe we could discuss it.” My parents looked up questioningly, as did Seth. All was not well in The Light Kingdom, and it was a big deal that the prideful King Orion was here for help.

“Gods, what can we do to help?” My mother spoke as she put her glass of wine on the table. “I did not know your nation was in trouble. The trade routes have been going through without issue from our side. Does it have to do with us? I swear, our people have been told to give your nation the utmost respect!” Orion’s grin widened as he heard this a light bit of pink dusted his cheeks.

“Of course not, and I appreciate your assertiveness on this matter. No, this is something happening internally with in the walls of the palace. The Fae Court has been compromised and I fear that my reign as king might be in jeopardy.”

My father stood up and lent out his hand. Orion grasped his forearm as they both stood eye to eye with each other. “I swear we will help your kingdom. Even if you do not wish to help with Sadie’s dilemma. We owe you that much from the major war over a millennium ago.” Orion stood firm, holding his gaze with my father, no doubt reading his aura. Orion’s mischievous smirk glide up his face as he shook their arms in unison.

“Agreed.” his face lit up. “However, we are still going to help The Moon Kingdom, like it or not. We’ll sort this out, this disturbance.”

Again, the room was lifted from tension. Orion had officially become part of a royal family and ally. His help will prove that we could conquer anything coming our way, and I hope lives will not be lost.

“Well, look what you did.” Seth’s nose brushed my ear. “You just made allies with the Light Kingdom, and you have only been here a short time. What else are you going to do?” Seth’s hot breath traveled below my neck as I let out a whimper.

“Later, maybe I will show you,” I winked as I felt him hold me closer.

Orion began discussing horticulture with my father. They were wanted to start a new trade route so Orion’s northern territories would get more of the Moon Kingdom’s potato crops. The women in the north weren’t gaining enough weight in the wintertime, and having some complex carbs would help them continue to become pregnant even in the winter months.

Seth continued to massage the side of my arm. After all the rumpus of activity today, my eyes drift, it was getting late, and even Gaia was curling up in my mind. Orion and my father’s voice were lulling me to sleep, but then I heard it. A branch broke close to the open window I was sitting next to with Seth. My ear perked up at the sound.

Not moving, I continued to listen. People were still laughing at Orion while he animatedly swung his hands around in excitement. Putting my nose slightly up in the air, I sniffed and smelled a familiar smell from earlier today. It was unfamiliar; I couldn’t pinpoint what it was…

“Rogue, a strong one,” Gia spoke. “It’s a female; that is why it smells different.” I nodded internally. I sat up straight, and everyone stared at my quick movements. Walking towards the window, I took in another breath. B***d, there was b***d nearby.

“Baby, what’s wrong?” Seth grabbed my hand, and I looked at him with concern. There would never be a dull moment with us.

“It’s starting.”
