Her Forever
Chapter 39

Sadie

Seth grabbed the keys and led me to the car with his hand on the small of my back. Feeling the tingles, I couldn’t help but laugh at his affections. Seth was a huge guy with tons of tattoos and muscles leading this frail little human around.

Once we reached the matte black Corvette, he guided me in and buckled my seatbelt for me. I could smell his pine scent as he gave me a quick k**s on the forehead. Once we were driving, he started talking about ‘home.’

“Home,” he started, “is nothing like this place, Earth.” I looked at him, tilting my head. He gave me a quick smirk. “Home is Bergarian, and you won’t find it on any map on Earth. It is another realm, another place entirely. There are a few portals around this world that can lead there, but no human can go in. It is enchanted by magic.” My eyes grew wide. I used to love fairy tales as a young girl, and now finding out that magic, werewolves, and vampires were real was only making my excitement grow as he continued.

“A long time ago, supernaturals used to steal humans and bring them back to Bergarian and use them for labor. Humans could be used for b***d bags for vampires, s****l slaves, hard labor, or just be servants. It was a sad and troubling time because most of the population was opposed to this.” Seth tapped his fingers on the steering wheel as he continued. “So one day, the gods and goddess, from that story you heard our first night together, put an end to it. They asked the witches to combine their powers and place a spell on it to save humans from ever having to enter the realm while the Moon Kingdom King and Queen oversaw it.”

Seth drove up to the park in the middle of town and shut off the engine. He came around the car and held out his hand as he led me to the park’s fountain and sat me on the bench. The birds were singing and bathing in the water, and children were running around trying to climb on the large wolf statue in the middle of the park.

“Humans can no longer come in, but that doesn’t mean werewolves or other supernaturals can’t find their mates out on Earth. Bergarian was kind of ‘afterthought’ of a world by the gods that housed all the creatures they had created without the threat of humans. Believe it or not, get enough humans together, and they can do some damage,” he laughed.

“There are a few kingdoms in Bergarian, and I’ll tell you the main three, the werewolves whose kingdom is called the Moon Kingdom, Vampires have Vamparia, and the Faes have The Fae Kingdom, or The Light Kingdom as they like to call it… There are several other smaller lands, but those are the three main ones. We normally all get along very well and have had no trouble in the past 1000 years. That all ended a few weeks ago with you.” Seth grabbed my hand and rubbed my knuckles with his thumb.

I gave a small smile and chuckled, “Sorry, I guess I am a troublemaker.” I looked up at him, only to find him staring at me. “You, my Love, are not a troublemaker.” His thumb traced my bottom l*p as he came closer to me. “You are just so precious, and everyone can see that.” My cheeks heated as he gave me a gentle k**s on the lips.

Seth gave out his hand and helped me to my feet. “How about some ice cream?” I nodded, and we walked over to the ice cream parlor. As we were walking over, I couldn’t help but feel warm. I knew Seth was my mate. In my heart, I felt it. Everything felt so right with him. However, the nagging feeling of causing the 1000 year peace disruption was unsettling. Why were things getting so complicated? Was it really because of me?

We walked into the parlor to be greeted by two teens working behind the counter. Seth whispered and asked what I wanted. I gave him a look, and he knew the answer. “One chocolate with fudge brownies, and for me, I’ll take a rocky road.” I smiled at him and gave his hand a gentle squeeze with both of mine. The past few days, any time he was free, I was asking him the silliest questions.

We did the entire 20 question game, which ended up ended up being over 50 questions by the end. I wanted to know everything about him, and he did the same for me. Seth was obviously more exciting than me. I had only my aunt and me for the longest time, and I had to figure out he was actually 125 years old. He had a lot to say, and I enjoyed every minute of his battle stories.

Everything about him was fascinating, and I officially became one of those lovesick teenagers that I always made fun of in school. After our ice cream, we walked back outside to go to the bank area. No one really uses the bank, and it is mainly used for out-of-town businesses that come in wanting to put a store or outlet together. The stores end up coming up for maybe a month so people can buy things from it to make everything look legit in the human world but quickly close, saying no one was interested in buying.

We walked into the bank, and a teller helped us go to the back, where all the security boxes were. After a long, winding hall, we ended up at the very back of the bank. I held up Maria’s key, and the teller opened up the box. There was a single letter with a wax seal on the outside. It had Maria’s initials engraved on it. She was always so crafty, and I could remember playing with her wax seal as a small child. I quickly stuffed it in my purse and had them close up the box.

“Are you not going to open it?” Seth questioned as he held my hand once we left the bank.

“Honestly, I’m happy. I’m happier than I have ever been. Not really sure if I want to open it,” I said thoughtfully. Seth nodded his head. “I just want nothing to change.” I wrapped my arms around Seth, and he held me close. If Drago was right, if I was royalty, none of it mattered because I had Seth. Who cares about becoming a princess of a distant land? All I cared about was my happiness with my mate. This letter could hold my past or be something else entirely. I didn’t want what I had to change, so why risk it at all?

“Well, things will change soon,” Seth added. I looked into his electric blue eyes. “You will become my mate very soon and Luna to our pack back home.” He growled as he rubbed my nose with his and gave a quick squeeze to my butt. “I like that change,” I said playfully.

After walking around the park and visiting friends at the diner, we headed back to the pack house. I still wasn’t back to full strength, and Seth said we both need a nap. I wasn’t complaining one bit because once my head hit the pillow, Seth threw his arms around my waist. I was a goner. His warmth kept me still, and I had the best nap I could ever ask for.

A few hours later, we had a knock at the door. I stirred and heard the banging coming again and again, and Seth woke up. “It better be good,” he spoke harshly. Seth continued to lie on the bed while I turned around to see who was at the door. Nathan stood there with tears in his eyes, his hair disheveled, and life had left his eyes. “Nathan.” I gasped. “What happened? What is wrong?”

“Alpha, Luna, I need help. I don’t know what to do.” Nathan’s tears threatened to leave his eyes as he walked in. I jumped out of bed and ran towards him as he dramatically fell into the chair. Seth’s growls were loud as he pounced on me, so I couldn’t help Nathan from his seat.

“Mine!” Seth growled as he buried his head in my neck. I could feel his teeth graze my shoulder, where my neck and shoulder meet. My heart raced as I grabbed hold of Seth’s biceps. Seth’s wolf had been on edge since I had come back from my kidnapping, and he was eager to mark me immediately. My body was still too weak to accept the marking, so I knew I had to calm him down.

“Yours, I’m yours,” I said over and over. “Just a little longer to wait. I’m still too weak. I’ll always be yours.” Seth’s breathing slowed down, and his grip loosened. His head popped up from my neck, and he told me a quick sorry before holding me to him again.

Nathan’s head was in his hands as he waited for Seth to calm down. Nathan looked broken, something I’ve never seen before from his personality. He was always so bright and vibrant, always the jokester. Keeping my distance, I finally spoke to him. “Nathan, what is wrong? What happened?”

“Where is your mate?” Seth spoke. I had forgotten that Diana was his mate. Seth had told me the day I woke up, but I never had the chance to congratulate the two. Seth had kept me too busy to talk to anyone.

“Diana in our room,” his voice cracked. “She knows. She knew about what I did to Sadie.” I couldn’t help but feel sorry for Nathan. Remembering the dream I had only a few days ago, and I knew this was going to be tough. The job was going to be tough, but I had promised Artemis I would help them. Originally, I think the Moon Goddess thought Seth would kill him, luckily he didn’t and had to rush to find his mate.

“I will help you, Nathan.” I took a step forward. “But you have to do exactly as I say.” I crossed my arms and kept my voice stern. He had to know I was not in a joking mood and what he did to me was wrong, but it was my job as the next Luna to take care of pack members.

“You don’t have to help him,” Seth said. “He messed up, and now he is paying the price.” He threw his hands out at him like he was throwing out the trash.

“Isn’t that what a Luna is supposed to do, though? Help pack members with relationships and children while you protect the pack?”

“It is,” Seth nodded in agreement. He took both hands in mine. “You can be selfish sometimes, though,” he whispered.

“What kind of person would I be, Luna or not, for not helping him? This is how he and Diana were brought together, through me. It was meant to be.” I turned to Nathan and told him to stand up.

“Alright, no more moping around. You listen here, and you do everything I say. Understood?” Nathan’s eyes widened. “Yes, Luna.”

“First, you go shower and shave, and for goddess’ sake, get a haircut.” Nathan looked at me in confusion. “Then you are going into town and buying as many flowers as you can for her, buy her some ice cream like chocolate. Then you go to the stationery store.” Now Seth was looking at me funny.

“You are going to write your feelings for her in a poem. It better be the best poem you ever wrote. Hold nothing back, and you let all your emotions in it. You will then read it to her and give her those gifts out at the gazebo at 7pm tonight, just after sunset. If there is a group of pack members out there to watch you pour your undying love for your mate, you will do it without hesitation. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Luna.” Nathan bowed, he sniffed back his tears.

“I will take care of Diana and the preparations for the gazebo. You may leave.” Nathan turned to walk out the door, but I stopped him. “Wear something nice, like a suit.”

“Thank you, Luna.”

I turned to Seth to see his jaw clenched and his eyes hooded. “That was so f*****g hot, baby,” he said with a deeper voice.
