Finding Her True Alpha -
Chapter 146: Mermaid Party Time
Ashlyn
It’s been a few days since I passed out from using too much magic. My eyes were still not back to the bright purple they were and I was still feeling weak. I feel stronger than I did, but not like I was before I casted both spells. Freya has been doing all she can to help me recover, but it’s still slow going.
Sage, Gabby, and I are getting ready for Aurora’s birthday party. It’s finally the day and I could feel that both my mates were anxious about me leaving the castle grounds, but we were going. Gabby picked a mermaid princess dress for Aurora and I knew she was going to love it. She also made her a card, which is just the cutest thing.
Gabby and I were matching, wearing sequin skirts that looked like mermaid scales. Mine was pink, and hers was purple. I wore a black flowing blouse while Gabby wore a black tank top. And we both had cute ankle boots.
I also had to curl her hair like mine. Gabby looks more like Sage, but I love how she wanted to match me.
When the three of us were ready, we made our way down to the living room where the guys were waiting.
Brandon and Sage were coming with us, and so were Lance and his team. Liam and Matt were staying behind with their mates. I didn’t think we needed Lance and his team, but Derek and Mason insisted on having them with Walking into the living room, my handsome mates were all dressed up in slacks and a dress shirts. Even James is dressed to impress, matching his daddies.
“Look at my beautiful girls,” Mason exclaimed, as I took James from him.
“Daddy, look!” Gabby exclaimed, moving the sequins so they changed color. She was so excited.
“That’s awesome, sweetheart.” He said, picking her up. These two had been inseparable over the last couple of days. As soon as Mason told her, she could call him daddy. Mason became the only person she wanted.
“You’re gorgeous, Gabby bear.” Derek told her.
“Thank you, Derek.” She told him shyly. It’s been taking longer for her to warm up to Derek, but to me, he’s the more intimidating one.
“You look beautiful, Babygirl,” Derek said, k!ssing my cheek.
“Thank you.” I told him.
“You ladies ready?” Derek asked.
“James’ bag?” l asked, and he held it up.
“Then I guess we are ready to go,” I told him.
“Lance and the team are waiting outside for us. And the party starts in 5 minutes.” Derek told us as Brandon opened the front door for us.
“Sage, you’ve been to the Fae castle before?” I asked her, and she nodded.
“If not, I have been,” Derek said, and I raised an eyebrow at him.
“Jordan and I are friends,” he answered.
“Hopefully not like Theo,” Mason grumbled out. Brandon and Sage shared a look while l started laughing.
“Jealous?” Derek teased him.
“Did we miss something?” Sage asked.
“Don’t worry about it. I’ll tell you later.” I told her, walking over to greet the warriors that were waiting.
“My Queen.” Lances greeted me.
“Prince.” He pinched James’ cheek, and he gave him a giggle.
“Lance, thank you for coming with us.”
“He had no choice,” Derek said behind me, and I rolled my eyes.
“Of course, my queen,” he answered.
“Sage, you’re up,” I told her and she opened a portal.
I was going to step through, but Derek held me back until half the warriors stepped through. Once they were through, l could walk through with Mason and Derek on either side. Then more warriors followed us. I wonder how Sage got away with never having protection. She was a princess and she could just come and go as she pleased.
After I stepped through and before I could even look around, Aurora rushed over to me, hugging my thighs, almost knocking me over.
“Ashy, Ashy, you’re here, you’re here!” She squealed.
Her excitement was contagious as James squealed out giggling at her.
“Aurora!” |heard Jordan call out to his daughter. I couldn’t see anyone because of all the surrounding warriors.
“I got her,” I called out.
“Aurora, there’s someone I’d like you to meet,” I told her and she looked up at me.
“Ashy, I met him before.” She told me and I giggled.
“His name is James. But I have someone else for you to meet.” I said, and Mason put Gabby down.
“Gabby, this is Aurora, the Fae princess. Aurora, this is my daughter, Gabby.” l introduced them.
“Hi Gabby. I like your dress.” Aurora said.
“Thanks, Aurora.” Gabby told her shyly.
“You like mermaids?” Aurora asked her, and she nodded.
“You want to play?” Aurora asked Gabby, taking her hand. Gabby looked up at me and I nodded.
“Okay.” She told her and Aurora took off, dragging Gabby behind her.
“Aurora, slow down.” I heard Jordan yell out.
“Ashlyn, I’m sorry about her. I don’t even think she slept last night.” Jordan said as the warriors moved out of his way.
“She’s just excited,” I told him. He greeted the others while I tried to see where Aurora dragged Gabby,
“Lance, can you send someone to monitor Gabby, please?” I whispered to him. He nodded, and one warrior rushed off to find her.
“Worried?” Mason asked in my head.
“Anxious,” l answered. l just wanted to keep Gabby safe. This is all new to her, and I don’t want her to panic if she can’t see us.
“King Jordan, where is your lovely queen?” I asked him, as he led us over to where the party was being held. The castle was beautiful, and the garden was bright and colorful with waterfalls and a pond with koi fish. This place was quite magical.
“She is just getting ready. She is getting close to her due date,” King Jordan answered.
“Is Aurora excited?” I asked him, and he chuckled.
“Every hour she asks when her brother is coming.” He laughed, and I giggled.
“She’s a handful,” I commented, and he laughed.
“You have no idea.” He chuckled.
“Your home is beautiful,” I told him, as we walked to the back garden. There were mermaid balloons and tables set up with food and even a cake table with a mermaid cake. Cherry blossom trees filled the backyard with their beautiful flowers and the smell was heavenly.
“Thank you, Ashlyn. You guys make yourselves at home. I’m going to go check on my queen.” Jordan excused himself.
“Derek, does this place always look like this?” I asked him in awe. I have so much to do around our castle.
“It does. The Fae’s magic is more elemental than witch magic. Not like yours, but they definitely have a green thumb.” Derek said, wrapping his arms around my wa!st, resting his head on my shoulder while I looked around the garden.
“And you and Jordan?” I asked him, and he chuckled.
“Just friends, nothing more.” He chuckled, k!ssing my neck.
“Better be.” I heard Mason mumble.
“Mr. Jelly, over there.” Derek chuckled against my neck.
“l guess I’m Mrs. Jely.” I told him.
“Neither of you have anything to worry about.” He said, making me smile as I looked out into the garden.
This place has the feeling of pure tranquility.
Later into the party, once everyone was settled, I found myself walking down the path in the garden. Maybe because I’m an elemental, but I feel a pull to this place, to the peace that it can offer my soul. When we got home, I made a mental note to get our castle grounds done. I can handle the flowers and such, but I need a waterfall. I could listen to the water flowing for the rest of my life and never get bored with the way the current moves and flows, changing the sound of the water. Also, the way the cherry blossoms hung over my head in massive trees, engulfing me in their scent.
Walking down the path, everything felt right in the world. Gabby was making friends and having a wonderful time. My mates were catching up with old friends. Sage was showing James off to everyone with Brandon. I know she really wants a baby. And she will be such a wonderful mother. This was their crowd. Sage grew up with most of these people and the same with my mates. And I’m okay being by myself. This must be how they feel when we go back to Blue Moon party, seeing everyone
I made my way back to the having such a great time. And it was so nice to just relax and not worry about any threats. I noticed that even the Fae King had warriors walking the grounds. I also noticed that some of Lance’s men were following me from a distance. Sighing, I made my way back to the party.
“Ashy!” Aurora screamed out when she saw me. I had almost made it to the table that my mates were sitting at. Aurora came rushing over with a plate with a piece of cake. She had almost made it to me before she tripped, catching her. The cake smashed right into my br*easts, covering my blouse in pink and green vanilla cake. Kneeling down, not too worried about the cake, to make sure that Aurora was okay. She looked at my shirt in horror and looked up at me with tears in her eyes.
“Hey, don’t cry sweetie. It’s just a little cake. Are you okay?” I asked her and she nodded, sniffling, as her father came over to see what was going on.
“I’m sorry, Ashy.” She sniffed.
“It’s okay, sweetie. Can you get me another piece? It looks delicious.” I told her. She smiled, nodding her head, and took off to get me another piece.
“Ashlyn, l am so sorry,” King Jordan said as I stood up.
“Its fine, King Jordan. I was more concerned about making sure Aurora was okay,” I told him.
“You look se*xy covered in cake.” Mason purred in my head.
“You’ll have to lick some off me later.” I told him.
“Come, I’ll show you where you can get cleaned up.” Jordan said as he led me into the castle. He walked down a hallway, stopping at a door, which l assume was the bathroom.
“I really am sorry, my queen.” He said, opening the door for me.
“It’s really okay, Jordan. Nothing the washing machine can’t fix.” I told him and he chuckled.
“No more titles?” He asked.
“We will be family soon enough,” I told him with a smirk. It took him a moment to catch what I was saying.
“Aurora and James?” he asked me, stunned, and I nodded.
“Wow.” He breathed out.
“I know, right? I’m just going to get cleaned up and be right out. Can you let my mates know?” I asked him, and he nodded. Without saying another word, he walked away, stunned by what I had just told him. Shaking my head, I entered the bathroom, locking the door behind I tried to get the cake off my blouse, but l just made it worse. It looked like the northern lights exploded all over my shirt. I made sure l got all the cake bits off, but the color was never coming out of this shirt. Sighing after I decided that the cake had won this battle, I exited the bathroom to go find my mates.
Looking down the hallway, I noticed someone that I wasn’t expecting to see there. Someone we were just trying to find was staring at me from down the hall. My heart pounded against my chest as I watched him, watching me, a smirk on his l!ps.
“Ryan?” I stuttered out.
“I’m glad you remember me, beautiful.” He said, giving me a smile.
“What are you doing here? Are you a Fae?” I asked him as he moved closer to me. I backed up until my back hit something and an arm was wrapped around my wa!st. I looked over my shoulder to see a man I had never seen before but he looked familiar, but I couldn’t place him. Feeling a sharp pain in my spine, his hand moved up to cover my scream. My legs gave out, and I found I couldn’t move my body.
“Open a portal, we need to get out of here before someone notices.” the man holding me said to Ryan.
“And before the bomb goes off.”
