Chapter 97

Collin's

POV

Today is the day I drop the bomb on Maddie. It had been two weeks since I took Maddie to Mateo for her dress to be designed for her. I took Maddie out to eat for lunch and, of course, she wanted to go shopping after that. I took her and she posed and preened for the paparazzi at all the high-end stores and spent $5000 very quickly on a pair of shoes and two outfits. She doesn't care how hard I have to work to earn it, she only cares about herself, and I am glad that today is the day that she is going to attack me. Nicolas has the keys to my apartment too, as I made him a spare for him to have for this situation. He and Jack will be coming in along with another Agent to hide in my bedroom until she starts to attack me and then I am supposed to call out for help, and they will come out to help me and be an eyewitness to what she is doing. I plan on starting the camera as soon as I unlock the door for Maddie, and after she puts her new stuff up, I am going to tell her that we are breaking up and that I refuse to marry her. I am hoping that I don't get really hurt, but it is out of my control now.

I texted Nicolas at the red light, and he said that he was good to go and in place with the Agents and to not forget to hit the record button on the recorder in the living room before I tell her. We enter and she heads off to her room and puts her new items up. I hope she leaves the tags on them because I am taking them right back tomorrow, no matter what. I don't know why I even bothered to think that she would just put them up, as she came back into the room with the new heels on to "show them to me" and it was like she had read my mind on what I was planning on doing, but I guess if that is the price to get rid of her, I will gladly pay it. Maddie headed into the kitchen, and I turned the camera to where she was standing in the kitchen looking for something in the fridge and then went to the entrance of the kitchen, but I stood at the far wall so whatever she did, it would be in full view of the camera.

I take a deep breath and let it out because I am actually scared to do this. After I saw her destroy my living room and kitchen after the press conference, to me the press conference hadn't even been that bad. I am about to tell her that no matter what she does, I will NOT be marrying her, and her dream dress will always be a dream for her. It will not be made for her, and I won't be paying Mateo for it. I will take the heat for everything as I don't want her coming after Cora or Mateo for anything having to do with this. I am trying to keep her focus on me and coming after me in this. I won't allow her to attack Cora, or hurt our babies, I want her to take it all out on me. That is why everyone is hiding. I don't want anyone else hurt or in the line of fire, except me. I got us all to this point and I will take the hit for it.

"Maddie," I said to her and took another step forward. I make sure that I speak up so the audio will record this clearly, "I have changed my mind. I don't want to marry you". I told her, and she turned around towards me and narrowed her eyes.

"It doesn't matter, Collin. I really don't care if you don't want to marry me or not. It is out of your hands unless you just want to lose your family's business?" Maddie said and then took the cap off of her water bottle and looked at me as she took a sip of her water. "No, you don't understand. I am NOT going to marry you, no matter what you say or do. I will not tie myself to you. I don't love you; I don't want you; I will never love or want you. You are an ugly and manipulative person whose only care in the world is that you are taken care of. You don't care for your parents or your brother, or anyone. You only care about what I can give you, how good I look to you, and how much of my money you can spend. You will never change, and you really don't want to, but your plan backfired. I have thought about it, and I would rather lose my company, my family's company than stay with you another minute, or another day", I told her and waited to see what she was going to do.

"You don't mean that, Collin. What would you do for money? Are you saying that you would rather have nothing, to lose everything that you currently have to get rid of me? How are you going to be with Cora? If you don't have any money for yourself? If the company crashes, then everyone there will be out of a job too. What is Cora going to do to make money? How is she going to raise your little bastards? Huh, did you think that through Collin? Because I did and if you truly want to lose it all, over Cora, of all people, then you are more ignorant than I thought that you were", Maddie said to me.

"What did you say about my babies?" I yelled at her.

"I called them bastards because they would be. Why did you think that I wanted you to marry me originally? I knew you wanted her, and she wanted you. You were both in Paris together. I just assumed how shocked she was when she walked in on us, that she was not sexually experienced, or on any type of birth control. So, pregnancy was a high probability for her. That was another reason that I sent those reporters to her house. They were known for being really pushy when they went after someone. If she had lost the baby, I would have been fine with it, but that guy stepped in and stopped them. You really are stupid, Collin. Did none of that go through your thick skull? You used to be fun. You were spontaneous, you were adventuresome, you liked having s*x in your office, you were up for s*x anytime, anyplace. Now, look at you. You haven't touched me in 8 months. I allowed it because I have other men to help me out when I need it. I could have waited you out until we got married, but now I need to think outside the box. Maybe I will make extra money by selling the video to a p**n site. I am sure a lot of women and men would be interested in watching you work on film. You might become even more famous than you are now. I am sure I can get some big money off of that anyway. I am quite sure that you just want me to go, so you can get with Cora, but I am going to make both of your lives a living hell. I am going to go on talk shows and tell everyone about how you cheated on me and got another woman pregnant while we were together. The bad publicity alone is going to destroy your business, and she is going to lose her clients over this. The video will make sure your business is done. I may only walk away with a quarter of a million for selling the video, but I will take you and Cora down too, so that makes it worth it to me", Maddie tells me with a malicious smile.

"You are a pitiful excuse for a human, Maddie. You are more vile than I ever thought you could be. I will set it straight, Maddie. People have already heard about you from the press conference that Mateo held and know you to be a lying, manipulative b***h. You will not garner any sympathy from anyone who hears you speak. No one will believe you as you don't even have actual friends. You have turned your back on your own family. You are a bad person who will burn through whatever funds you get from the video, and you will have nothing left to do. You will have to leave New York as you cannot work here anymore. All the designers know that you are disruptive and argumentative and won't hire you after what Mateo told them. You will be a fry cook before you have another modeling gig, and in less than 5 years your outside will be as ugly as your inside is. It doesn't matter if I and Cora aren't married when our children arrive, because I love Cora, and I love my babies, even though they are not here yet. I will marry Cora, and it WILL be the wedding of the year. Everyone will know our side of the story and you will end up looking like the psycho b***h that you are. What kind of person tries to blackmail someone to keep them from another person? A person that they truly love from the bottom of their heart. The mother of their unborn children. You are a pathetic excuse of a woman, and you will never find love because you are not capable of love. It breaks my heart every time that I leave Cora, and have to come here to you, it kills me a little. I am so glad that this is over because I cannot stand to look at you for one more minute, Maddie. You disgust me and I hope you pay dearly for everything that you have done and all the stress that you have caused. You have really affected so many in a very negative way. I don't know how you can look at yourself in the mirror and not be disgusted by the person staring back at you. I have made changes myself. You mentioned it earlier, so I am sure that you have seen that I am not the same man as before. I have a nephew that I want to be a better man for. I want him to love and respect me, and from how I was doing before, I really didn't deserve very much respect. I want to be a good husband to Cora, and a good role model for my son and my nephew. Someone that they can look up to and want to emulate because they see me having a good moral compass and loving my family. I want to be a loving protector for my family, and a man that my daughter knows will love and protect her throughout her life. I cannot wait to see my beautiful children come into this world and I am so thankful that I don't have to pretend to be able to stand you anymore, Maddie. I wanted you to know the truth, Maddie. I hope that you get everything that you have coming to you", I told her. I pulled out every single thing that I wanted to say to her, all because I needed to get a reaction out of her, and not just a verbal one. I needed her to attack me, assault me, something, but she just stood there looking at me. A slow smile crosses her face, and I can see that she is very angry. I look into her eyes, and I see that she wants to do something to me, but she doesn't move. She just stands there with that crazy look on her face. She then starts laughing a low laugh, but it is just creepy like she has finally snapped and is about to lose it, she just walks away towards her room and closes the door. I stood there with my heart pounding waiting to see what she was going to do.

When her door finally opens, she has a suitcase in one hand and her purse over her shoulder, and she leaves. The elevator was gone before I realized that I had allowed her to leave without stopping her, but she didn't attack me like I thought she was going to. She has a plan in mind, and I am suddenly terrified for Cora. I quickly pick up the phone and call Thomas to tell him that Cora goes nowhere without him, and a quick update on what happened. I don't know what Maddie is going to do, but whatever it is, it will not be good for Cora or the babies, if Maddie gets her way about it, and the thought of something happening to them, truly terrifies me.
