After the Eight Years of Love I Gave Up -
Chapter 84
Love Story - Chapter 9
When Nico walked out of that residential complex, his expression was impassive. Violet, on the other hand, was clinging to his arm affectionately, chattering away:
"Shall we go pick out some bedding together? Blue? You like that color, and it complements my skin tone."
Violet, completely disregarding the gaze of others, leaned in intimately to plant a kiss on him.
"Beep beep-"
I honked the car horn, interrupting their conversation.
"Nico!" I waved at them, "Over here!"
Nico saw me, his expression freezing for a moment, then turning to panic.
Almost instinctively, he tried to pull his arm out of Violet's embrace, struggling several times without success.
Beside him, Violet seemed startled, clinging tightly to him without moving, standing there with a timid expression, though her eyes darted furtive, challenging glances at me. Seeing Nico's reaction, I didn't know whether to feel relieved or find it ironic.
Nico quickly regained his composure. He met my gaze, shielding Violet behind him, and said to me with his chin raised:
"We'll talk about this alone. Let Violet leave first."
Then he turned back and reprimanded her quietly:
"You go back first."
Violet's lips trembled slightly, like a child hearing they're about to be abandoned. She clung tightly to his clothes, refusing to let go, her eyes full of defiance:
"No, I want to face this with you."
Seeing how inseparable they were, I began to wonder if I was the one breaking up a happy couple.
I rubbed my throbbing forehead, still aching from the hangover:
"You don't need to act like you're facing life and death."
Then I leaned forward and smiled slightly at Violet:
"Miss Shen, there are some things I need to discuss with Nico alone. I'll return him to you afterward, okay?"
Seeing that wasn't screaming and shouting hysterically, but rather calm and collected, Nico stared at me with a complex expression for a while, then sneered:
"Fine."
Then he deliberately pulled Violet closer, whispering intimately in her ear:
"Be good, go back first."
Unable to resist his gentle persuasion, Violet finally reluctantly returned to the complex.
He tried to sit in the passenger seat as usual, but I stopped him:
"Sorry, I'm a germaphobe. Please sit in the back."
He paused for a moment, then slammed the door shut and got into the back seat.
"I heard this apartment is rented for her?" I skillfully started the car and drove off my tone as casual as if discussing the weather, "How stingy, considering the young lady is

From the back seat, Nico irritably pulled out a cigarette and put it in his mouth:
"Cut the crap. What do you really want to say?"
I drove expressionlessly:
"Oh, I just want to know when you two started being together?"
Nico sneered:
"Does it matter now?"
My face turned cold:
"Of course, it's very important. It determines whether I need to go to the hospital for a check-up."
The disgust in my words made Nico's face fall.
When a man cheats, it's not just a matter of being disgusting; it's mainly about being dirty.
