Love Story - Chapter 8

In the bar, the pulsating music teased everyone's nerves.

"Emily, how are the wedding preparations going with Nico?

Remember, you promised I'd be the maid of honor," Daisy said, leaning her head close to me.

I danced to the music, raised my bottle to toast with her:

"There won't be a wedding anymore. Let's toast to my happy breakup in advance."

That sentence left Daisy, who was already tipsy, at a loss:

"Huh? What nonsense are you talking..."

I chuckled lightly:

"I'm not joking. He cheated, and he's with his little lover in their love nest right now."

Daisy didn't believe it:

"How is that possible! Your Nico has always been devoted to you.

He pursued you so intensely back then. Are you sure there isn't some misunderstanding?"

I handed her my phone, showing Violet's Weibo account. She had followed me three days ago.

Daisy returned the phone to me, gritting her teeth in anger:

"Who is this girl? I'm going to beat up these two scumbags."

I waved my hand, asking her to calm down:

"Since finding out about his

"Does Nico know you've found out?" she asked.

I shook my head:

"I'm going to confront him tomorrow."

Daisy looked at me with sympathy, seeming even more upset than I was:

"Emily, what do you plan to do next? Are you just going to let these two scumbags off so easily?"

I smiled lightly:

"I've already started handling my work matters. Studying in France has always been my dream, which put aside because of Nico's strong opposition. Now I can finally do what want to do, isn't that good?"

Daisy drank with me all night, cursing Nico the entire time, until we both passed out on her sofa.

The next day, I carefully chose a red dress that complemented my complexion and applied meticulous makeup, something I hadn't done in a long time.
