Wing Of Change
Chapter 82

Instead of going home as planned. The four of them ended up at Zicky’s bar to celebrate.

Aria was putting on flops at this point so she couldn’t protest or whine about her feet which would have been understandable but she was too good to spoil the fun for everyone else.

“I guess we are back right where its all started” Lizzy had squeal loudly causing everyone to chuckle at her statement.

“You can say that again” Kelvin had agreed readily_throwing Frank a knowing glance.

His attention was focused on his wife while making sure she was truly comfortable with the idea of going in or turn everyone around and head home.

“Are you sure you are okay dear” he asked again looking at her with concern.

“Yea sure”

They made their way inside with Frank keeping Aria close by his side while making sure she doesn’t run into anyone by mistake given her condition.

Everyone sat at a reserved table while Kelvin waved a waiter over to place their order. They wanted to celebrate so a bottle of champagne was ordered.

Aria couldn’t help was noticed a strange looking figure at the bar area who kept throwing short glances at their table.

She couldn’t get a proper look at his face thanks to the bar light that was messing with her eyes but judging from his face cap and that mustache he has going on, he was definitely a guy.

He was there for a minute and gone the next. Aria was only distracted for a moment before she lost him.

Maybe she was just being paranoid and whoever that was, wasn’t exactly spying on them but having issues with his neck. Either way, he didn’t stick around long enough for her to find out.

The stranger was completely forgotten the moment the waiter returned with their bottle in an ice filled bucket and at their demand, the waiter went ahead to pour out into glasses but Aria was not eligible to drink any and requested for soda instead.

While everyone drank and cheered to the new couple, Aria was starting to feel a little bit out of place. The music was getting louder than normal and her sight was starting to get blurred all of a sudden.

She could feel the panic creeping in but in order not to cause alarm. She remain quiet and allowed her eyes to shut down a bit in the hope that it would calm her down at least.

The more she tried to hold herself together, the worst she grew. Her breath was short and laboured before she eventually collapsed against her husband and allowing every bit of darkness calling at her to swallow her whole.

She thought of only one man.

Frank!

**

Aria was drifting in and out of unconsciousness while she was being rushed to the hospital. She could hear someone crying out her name and even though she couldn’t make out a face_she was sure it was her best friend.

Lizzy was crying her lashes out, just seeing her best friend lifeless body being wrapped up in her husband arms and seating beside her on the moving vehicle was enough to break her down in quiet sobs over and over again. She didn’t realized when things spun out of control.

Everything was fine one minute and the next?, Frank was pulling her into his arms and grabbing their attention as well.

Lizzy couldn’t help but curse at their stupid luck. Because every time they went to that bar, something bad ends up happening and Aria would be in the middle of it all like a magnet to danger.

This shouldn’t have happened! She thought with tears dripping down her cheeks. Today was supposed to be her all round happy day not her very worst.

Frank was in a far worst state of mind. He couldn’t drive so Kelvin was doing it. He already spoke to the doctor over the phone and informed him what had happened so he was probably waiting for their arrival.

If only Kelvin can drive a little faster than he is at the moment. He thought with a frustrated g***n.

“She will be alright” Kelvin had uttered more to himself than anyone else. He must have heard the frustration in his voice and can very much sympathize with his friend.

Frank only nodded. He needed to hear someone else say it. Having someone else say it was assurance enough.

She was finally his. He couldn’t loose her now. He’d make sure of it.

He pulled her into his chest tighter as if to assure her of his protection before placing a gentle k**s against her parted lips.

**

They quickly wheeled her into the ICU immediately on arrival and had her changed out of her clothing and into a blue robe meant for patient.

She gained a little bit of consciousness some minutes later after she felt her skin getting pricked, announcing to her that they were finally at the hospital but couldn’t stay awake for long before drifting into yet another state of unconsciousness.

B***d was drawn from her arm in order to run some test and after which her vital signs were thoroughly checked to make sure everything was functioning as they should.

The doctor had decided to drip her in order to keep her stable while still waiting for her result to come out before he can commence proper treatment.

The constant drifting was starting to subside at some point because she realized that she could feel every single thing but couldn’t say a single word still. The heaviness in her chest was suppressing every intention to say something.

Frank was at her side the whole time_just having him there was enough to keep her sane and fighting to stay completely awake.

She felt his familiar touch against her cheek and tried to react to it but couldn’t. Her husband was right there. She could feel his gentle yet worried touch as if there were her very own.

He was suffering just as much and she could understand why. she wished she could reach out a hand just to assure him that she would be fine.

At least she was alive.

Was she really alive? She couldn’t help but wonder with a new kind of fear creeping into her already heavy chest causing her breathing to come out in quick successions.

Aria could hear more voices talking over her but couldn’t pick out a word because everything was pouring out in hush waves.

It seem her test result were back and Frank was having a fit about the possible outcome causing her to wonder what it might be.

Maybe it was something bad and she was going to die. Aria was feeling a lot of things at that point.

The fact that she feels paralyzed and every much unable to move her limps was alarming enough. She could hear her husband asking the doctor how long it would take before she regain herself completely again but couldn’t pick out his reply as they had both turned and walked out the door.

She tried to remember everything that had happened that led to her being that way. All she could scrap off from her brain was seating between her husband and best friend in a bar while sipping a cold soda in celebration of their wedding.

Aria was still trying to gather her thought when she noticed a strange looking nurse walked in and stood at her bedside. She had a facemask on and it was covering half of her features so she couldn’t see her face and couple with the fact that she could barely focus on anything for even more than a second.

The nurse didn’t realized she was aware of her presence until she noticed her slight movement on the bed, she pulled out a syringe from her front pocket before proceeding to filling it with unknown medication and injecting it into the ORT drip hanging above her.

“Seem you are starting to regain consciousness but am afraid we can’t have that just yet. I need you to be a nice little bitch that you are and sleep some more while I take you some place nice” she had uttered in a malicious way.

That voice.

Aria wasn’t sure if she knew who the person was or not but she has a bad feeling about having her there with her with practically no one around.

The stress signal from her brain was enough to make her choke on the little breath that was barely escaping her parted lips just at the thought of getting murdered right there on the bed without anyone knowing.

Something was wrong or about to go terribly wrong if she was there and acting like her nurse because she could feel that she was not.

Oh God.

She felt the first pull and knew she was really doomed.

She must have done something to the drip because she could feel it causing through her vein like venom and threatening her very survival.

Her baby!

She hasn’t felt him move since she almost regained full consciousness. It like the fetus too was under the same condition as her and could only hope he is okay.

Aria was more afraid for her child than she could ever be for herself at that point.

She wish she could scream for help or rip the tube attached to her arm away to avoid getting more drugged up. But she knew she won’t succeed even if she tried. Her only hope was if someone were to walk in at that moment and stop whatever she was planning from happening.

She couldn’t fight the drowsiness that was starting to call at her almost immediately.

Nothing could save her now.

She was really doomed.

While she was struggling to keep her eyes open, she watched with wide eyes as she pulled the wheel chair seating beside her bed towards her and began to pull off the needle attached to her arm before dragging her off the bed.

Where was she taking her? She thought in panic.

She couldn’t scream for help. Her voice was lost in her throat just like everything else.

The last thing she heard was her voice telling her to sleep and she sure as hell did sleep.

Totally and completely just like she had wanted.
