Why deceive me?? -
56. Get Out
She turned to him. "Damon, did I do something wrong?" She asked.
He kept mute.
She decided to try again..
"Was it because I stayed longer?" She asked again.
By now, Damon was becoming irritated.
"I already apologized. What else could be the problem.?" She asked.
When she realized he wasn't going to answer her questions, she kept mute. But like a robot, it was like someone taped on a button in her brain. She decided to try one last time.
"Damon, why aren't you answering me?" She asked.
With that, he stopped the car and without looking at her, said.
"Get out of my car?" He ordered.
"Damon?" She asked, shocked.
"Out," He yelled.
Ronnie seemed short of words. "Damon, are you being serious right now?"
"Don't make me do it myself," he said.
Ronnie opened the door and stepped out. She tried to reason with him.
"Damon, it's 12 in the night. How am I supposed to get home?" she asked.
"Sort it out yourself," He said and drove off.
Ronnie seemed lost for words. They had driven a long way from the hospital so going back was not an option. She started walking slowly toward what she presumed was the way home. Just when she thought things couldn't get worse, it started raining.
She ran towards a tree to get shelter from the mad pouring rain. She removed her phone from her purse and dialed Alan's number.
"Hey princess of the mansion," He called excited
Ronnie sulked in a measurable amount of breath before speaking.
"Alan, can you pick me up?" She asked.
"What do you mean to pick you up? Didn't you and the boss go out together?" Alan asked, not quite understanding what she was saying. "Forget about who I went out with. Can you do it?" She asked.
Alan sighed. "Wish I can, but the boss is going to make my life a living hell if I do things without confirming from him," Alan said. "It's no problem," She said and hung up.
She entered the rain and started walking. She shivered from the rain. She felt pains in her legs and bent to remove the heels she was wearing. Damon arrived at the mansion and started toward his room when he saw Alan by the door. He frowned when he saw Alan's face.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Miss Katie just called me," Alan began.
"Ok," he answered and started walking to his door.
"She is probably outside and it's raining heavily. I don't think she can come back tonight." Alan said.
"Good for her," He said.
"Should I go pick her up?" Alan asked.
Damon paused. "Then you better plan your wedding before stepping foot into this house," He stormed off.
Alan froze and walked off. He tried calling Ronnie but it wasn't connecting. He shrugged and went to the sitting room to watch his favorite soap opera.
It's been almost three hours before Ronnie reached the mansion. She was so exhausted, hungry, and thirsty. She felt like her throat was on fire. She felt feverish. She felt like eating yet nothing came to her mind.
She walked Into the house and saw Alan sitting down on the couch. She ignored him and started walking toward the stairs. But Alan being himself, stood up and ran to meet her. He looked at her from head to toe. "What happened to you? Did you walk in the rain? You look terrible," He asked, wide-eyed.
"The only problem you have is you can mind your own business," She said and walked off.
Alan stood transfixed. "I was just trying to show that I care. Does she have to be like this even though she isn't in a good shape?" He finally went back to his favorite couch to watch his favorite channel.
Ronnie opened the door to the room she and Damon shared. She walked in and saw the silhouette of Damon on the bed, probably asleep. She couldn't believe he had done that to her. Why was he being so cruel all of a sudden? Why did he change? Just when she was falling in love with him.
She glanced at him one more time then walked toward the bathroom to freshen up. She could feel her feet were numb and as much as she wanted to eat, she wanted to lie down and sleep.
She went into the bathroom and left the water in the tub to warm up. She left and went downstairs to grab a snack. Once she was done eating, she stepped into the warm tub and began. She felt like crying but the tears were choked down her neck.
Once she was done with her bath, she went into the room and changed into her nightgown since she assumed Damon was asleep.
She then gently lay on the bed, not wanting to wake him up. I gently lay in the bed beside him and couldn't concentrate. RONNIE'S POV
I can't believe how Damon treated me earlier. Like I walked three hours to the mansion? How can he be so cruel? I thought he changed. Why is he acting like this? I know he changes characters and persona but not like this. I can't believe I fell in love with such a monster. Why was I so stupid not to see that he wouldn't change?
All my life, this is the first time I've walked thus far all because of money. And the beast is sleeping soundly on the bed beside me. How did I manage to include so much wrath and hatred from him? Because one can only do this to his/her
enemy. And as it stands, I feel like I'm his newfound enemy. It can't be possible that he found out about me, because he was outside, sitting inside the car when I went in to see my mother in her ward. This is so Insane. Then what can make him mad to the point of him ordering me out of his car to walk that long mile home? Why isn't my life always perfect just when I'm at the peak of perfection?
All these thoughts kept rolling up and down my head till I succumbed to the valley of sleep.
