Why deceive me??
54. Can you slow down?

I placed my hand on his, stopping him from making any call. He looked at me with questionable eyes.

"I want to go alone," I replied, not sure if he'll let me out of his sight.

He frowned. Just as I predicted.

"Why would you want to go alone?" He asked.

"Well, I just want to see someone dear to me and don't want any company or guard," I said, smiling politely

"And who is this person so dear to you that you can risk your security for?" He asked, almost cold.

I gulped. Why does he have to turn cold at this crucial moment?

"Well, it's someone really special," I said

"Your lover, I guess," He said and frowned.

"Huh?" I asked.

He looked away and started walking toward the door.

"You can go, but don't even think of sleeping over there and make sure you come back before the clock strikes 12, or you're never stepping foot out of this mansion again," He said and banged the door loudly before going out. I gulped.

DAMON'S POV

I looked at my wristwatch and saw it was already past 9' o clock. Now let's see how she's gonna leave me here alone for another night of loneliness.

What's wrong with her these days? She's not always herself and is always lost in thoughts. She doesn't seem like the Katie I've been hearing and researching about. Maybe she's changed and all that after being with me for this little while. She's just like another person. Well, maybe she's learning to adapt. Who is she going to see by this time? Am I doing the right thing by letting her go alone? It's so uncomfortable.

I then picked up my phone and dialed her number. I was at my first glass of wine when I dialed her number. She picked up at the first ring.

"Hello," She said. His voice wasn't sounding as cheerful as she was. I think I hurt her by going out of the room. Maybe I should have stayed with her.

"Get dressed, I'm driving you to your destination," I commanded and I could feel her hesitation.

"You don't have to bother," She began. I knew she wanted to stop me from driving her. I wanted to see who she wanted to visit.

"Katie, I don't like repeating myself," I said and hung up.

I gulped down the wine in full swing and stood up and started walking to the room. Once I arrived at the door, I opened it and found Katie wrapped in her towel. She was applying her lotion on her skin in slow motion. Her skin was so lush and it looked soft. I felt my excitement grow and I gently walked back and closed the door. Thank goodness she didn't notice me.

I stood outside the door operating my phone while waiting for her. Once I was sure she was done, I went inside the room and doing her brushing her hair. I gently walked to her and placed my hand on her shoulders. She turned to me and sighed. She picked up the powder to apply when I stopped her.

"You don't have to do all that, let's go," I said and gently raised her. She was looking so beautiful and I found my gaze on her. She was wearing a short gown, just above her knees. Her short black hair shone in the room. "You don't look bad," I said and turned to leave. I couldn't just tell her exactly how she looked. She looked so good I could eat her. I did want her to know exactly what I thought of her.

I could feel her trailing behind me. I smiled within and kept moving. We arrived at the parking lot just in time and I opened the car so she could get in. I got into the driver's seat and started the engine. "So, where are we going to?" I asked.

She looked uneasy but tried to hide it with a smile. "Maxwell Sanitarium,"

I looked at her doubtfully as if I didn't hear well. Why would she be going to a hospital meant for poor people? I heard Katie dislikes poor things.

"Maxwell Sanitarium? What are you going to do there?" I asked.

She was hesitant. "I have someone there,"

Who did she have there? I wondered. I shrugged at the feeling that something wasn't right. I decided to let it slide. I'll ask her once she's comfortable talking about it. But for now, I see she's uncomfortable.

I drove in silence and Katie wasn't gonna say anything either. I wasn't gonna push her to say what she doesn't wanna say.

I drove at a quick pace and I could see the panic in her eyes.

"Can you slow down?" she asked

"I'm not fast," I argued.

"Yeah, I know," She chuckled nervously. "Just slow down,"

I shrugged and slowed down.

We arrived at the hospital in no time and I made to go out. Katie held my hand.

"You don't have to follow me. I'll go alone," She said.

"What are you saying? I should stay here and wait for you?" I asked.

"Yeah," She replied plainly.

"Then what the hell am I supposed to be doing while waiting for you?" I asked again.

She frowned. "You just said you wanted to drive me here, do anything you find fun," She said and walked out of the car, out into the hospital building.

What guts she has.

I felt the urge to go with her but kicked against it. She has a right to privacy too. In the same way, I wouldn't want her Intruding on my privacy in the same way she wouldn't want me doing the same to her. I respect hers a lot, even though she acts like total nuts at times. I rested my head on the seat and waited for her.

Staying in the car was too boring. I decided to take a stroll around the hospital when I thought I saw someone who was walking like Katie, wearing the same dress she wore from the house, the same shoes. But the thing is this person was having long black straight hair. She was walking into a ward. I almost gasped as she entered the ward. I decided to follow her.
