When We Meet Again
Chapter 39

Ever since Alexia showed up, Melvin did not go to the office. Alexia has always been clingy which means he will have to go to work with her. And as a celebrity that she is, going to work with her would be disastrous. Not only will it cause a scandal for him which will cause an uproar among the board members, but it will also cause the people to blame him for cheating on his wife for the second time. Alexia wasn't saying anything about leaving and Melvin doesn't see a sign that she would leave either. That made him wonder if she would not be leaving anymore. He decided to ask her for clarity.

"Babe?" He cooed and Alexia stared at him.

They were both on his bed with Alexia lying down and pressing her phone. Melvin had been working on some documents on his laptop for a while and had decided to take a few minutes away from work. Though he wanted to talk to Alexia to know when she would be leaving, he also wanted to take a rest after that.

"Are you done with work?" Alexia asked and Melvin nodded.

"Yes, I am."

Alexia sighed. "Thank goodness. Can we order something to eat? I have been so hungry for a while."

Melvin furrowed his brows. Why did she not go to the kitchen to get something to eat? Why wait for him?

"Why did you not go down to the kitchen to get something to eat?"

Alexia shrugged. "Maybe I wasn't hungry enough to go down." She mumbled. "I wasn't craving something in the kitchen."

"What were you craving for then?"

"Pizza," Alexia answered with a smile. "You can order some packs for the two of us."

Melvin shook her head. "I am not interested in pizza. You can order some for yourself." Melvin stretched his phone to her. "Here is my..."

"Can't you do that for me?"

Melvin groaned slightly. "Fine, I will make the order." Melvin placed an order for pizza. Alexia who seems to have a lot she wants to eat, kept ordering new things. "Can you make your orders once and for all? You are going to tire me out." Alexia sighed. "Fine. The ones I ordered are enough."

Melvin dropped his phone on the table and stood up. "I am going to get a glass of milk. Do you want one?"

Alexia shook her head. "No, I am good."

Melvin nodded. "I have something to say to you when I get back."

Alexia nodded but said nothing, so Melvin headed downstairs. Hannah was in the kitchen preparing lunch.

"Good day, boss," she greeted.

"Hannah, how are you?" Melvin asked.

"I am fine, sir. Are you here to get something?"

Melvin nodded. "A glass of milk."

"I will help you with that," Hannah said washing her hands.

"You do not have to worry. I will do that myself."

Hannah nodded. She continued with her cooking while Melvin went ahead to get a jug of cold milk from the refrigerator and a glass cup. After filling the cup to the brim with milk, he drank it.

"You can leave the cup in the sink. I will wash it," Hannah said.

"Thank you," Melvin replied.

He picked up the jug to return it when his stomach grumbled. "You must be hungry," Hannah said. "I will get you a pack of biscuits. Food will be ready soon. You can eat that while you wait.". Melvin nodded. Hannah got a tray and placed the jug of milk on it. She placed a pack of her boss's favorite biscuits on the tray too. "Should I get two glass cups?" She asked.

"No, Alexia will not be taking milk," Melvin replied.

Hannah nodded and then placed a glass cup on the tray. "I will take this upstairs for you."

"You do not have to. I will do that myself." Melvin took the tray from Hannah and headed to the door. He turned. "I ordered a few things and the delivery man is on his way already. Send the stuff upstairs when he gets here." Hannah nodded. "Yes, boss."

Melvin left the kitchen and went back to his room. Alexia wasn't lying on the bed, instead, she was seated on the couch with Melvin's phone in her hand.

"What took you so long?" She asked.

"Did I miss a call?" Melvin asked, dropping the tray on the table.

"No, you did not. Where are my orders?"

"The delivery man is not here yet,"

Alexia frowned. "Then why did you take so long before coming back?"

Melvin sighed. "I did not stay that long. Did I? I already asked Hannah to bring the stuff up here when the delivery man delivers them."

Alexia stood up from the couch. "Then we will have to share the biscuits."

Melvin nodded. "Fine."

Alexia sat beside Melvin. She took a piece of biscuit and placed it in her mouth. "You said you have something to say to me when you get back."

Melvin nodded. "Yes, I do. It's not something serious. I only want to know when you intend to go back?"

Alexia furrowed her brows. "I do not get you."

She knew what Melvin meant. She could also tell that Melvin was already suspecting that she had a reason for coming back and she might leave soon. She wanted him to say what was in his mind. Melvin on the other hand could not help but feel that Alexia would be leaving soon, though she'd been in his house for two days. It had been her usual attitude to come and leave within a twinkle of an eye.

"I know you understand me, Alexia. When are you going back?"

Alexia sighed. "I am not going back. I am here to stay,"

"Are you telling me that you won't leave like you usually do?" Melvin asked.

This was what Alexia had wanted him to say because she knew that was how he had been seeing her.

"Is that how you see me now?" Alexia asked. "I know I left without telling you but that doesn't mean I will do that again."

Melvin sighed. He loves Alexia and he wants to spend time with her but he is afraid she will leave without informing him again and he would be heartbroken once more.

"Now that you've known that I will not be leaving. Do you feel better now?"

Alexia had spoken like she meant it but Melvin could not help but doubt her words; she wasn't going to tell her that.

Melvin nodded. "I think I do."

"It's my turn to ask you a question." She said.

Melvin furrowed his brows. "What question do you want to ask?"

"When are you going to divorce your wife?"

"You mean, Charlotte?"

Alexia nodded. "Yes. Now that I am back. Isn't it proper to end your fake marriage with her?"

"I can't just break up with her just like that. Her identity as my wife has just been recently exposed. Divorcing her would only cause uproar and I do not want that."

Alexia frowned. "Are you telling me that you will not divorce her?"

"I am not saying that but..."

"But what? You love her right? You have fallen in love with her right? I knew you'd been cheating on me with her!" Alexia yelled.

"You can't accuse me of a thing I did not do."

"Now I am accusing you?"

Melvin sighed. "I do not know why you are yelling and accusing me of cheating. I do not know why you think I am in love with her too." "But that is what your reaction is saying. If you know you do not love her then divorce her."

"She is in Paris. I can't..."

"I do not care! Make her come back and break up with her."

Melvin groaned. "Why..."

"Melvin, don't get me pissed off. Break up with her or I will let the world know that your marriage with her is fake. You know I have the contract..." "Fine. I will ask her to return so we can break up officially."

Alexia smiled. "You know that I love you right?"

"I hope you still do," Melvin mumbled.

"What did you say?" Alexia asked.

"Nothing. Alexia, how about you stay in a hotel before her return?" Melvin suggested.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"You know she can't meet you here. You will return after she..."

Alexia smiled. "It doesn't matter. For as long as you get to divorce her the moment she returns."

Melvin nodded. "I will."

Melvin could see Alexia smirking. He knew she could be up to something but whatever she plans to do, he has no idea.
