When We Meet Again

Scheduling a meeting with Opera was easy for Charlotte; Opera's agency asked for a meeting before Charlotte could. Charlotte suggested that they meet at one of Melvin's not-too-known mansions for security purposes. At the meeting, Charlotte demanded an explanation of what had happened between Melvin and the actress or she would not listen to whatever they had to say. She will also not tell them the solution she has to offer. "You deserve an explanation," Tiana said. "And she is willing to give you that."

Charlotte listened with rapped attention as Opera explained how she had misheard the room number and had entered Melvin's room by mistake. She also explained her reason for kissing Melvin which was out of impulse. From what Opera said, Charlotte could tell that there was nothing between Melvin and the actress; he wasn't a cheat after all.

First, Charlotte demanded a sincere apology from Opera for causing such confusion that had led to an uproar on the internet. Opera was ready to apologize because she knew she was wrong. After her sincere apology, it was time for Charlotte to offer her a solution which she knew was going to be good news to Opera who has always wanted to be a model at her husband's company.

"Back to the issue on the ground," Charlotte began. "We have to change what people think about the situation. First Opera has to give a vivid explanation of why she went to his room at that time of the day." Opera nodded. "Do you have a suggestion?"

Charlotte's question was directed to Tiana. She wanted to know what her opinion as Opera's manager would be before she told them what she had for them. Tiana on the other hand, knew that her suggestion might not be better than Charlotte's. She had made some inquiries about her before coming to the meeting. From what she had gathered so far, she knew allowing Charlotte to take over the situation would be the best.

"I do not have any suggestions. It's one of the reasons we came to see you." Tiana replied.

"I have a suggestion," Charlotte said. "You've always wanted to be a model at Melvin's company, right?"

Charlotte's question this time was directed to Opera whose eyes had brightened up at the mention of that.

"Y-yes" she stuttered.

"And you are still willing to be?"

Opera nodded. "It has always been my dream."

"That solves everything," Charlotte said. "You will become a model at the company."

Opera shrieked in excitement. Is her dream finally coming to reality?

"A-are you serious about that?" Opera asked and Charlotte nodded. "Yes, I am."

Opera was so happy; that she could not curtail it..

Amidst Opera's excitement, Tiana had so many things to think about. Did she just offer Opera the modeling slot that has been so difficult to get? Why would she do that and how does that solve the problem?

"I would like to know why you are giving her the modeling slot," Tiana said. "Will that help change people's thoughts about the situation?"

Charlotte nodded. "We can say that she was there for a meeting."

Tiana furrowed her brows. "Isn't a meeting supposed to be in an office? I think that will only cause more confusion."

Charlotte smiled. Though Tiana looked tough on the outside she was much more naive than Opera.

"I was also at the hotel room that day. Opera entered the room, ten minutes after six and I was there twenty minutes after six. That was ten minutes. Nothing serious would have happened within that time. Also, there are pictures of her going into that room and coming out. There were also pictures of me going in and going out of that same room but there wasn't any for my husband." Charlotte said.

Tiana was beginning to connect the dots. She can now understand what Charlotte meant but she still had some doubts.

"But there is a picture of your husband and a woman going into another room and everyone thinks it was the actress," Tiana said.

Charlotte smiled. "That is me, not some random woman. The clothes are different too. We are more concerned in clearing both Opera and Melvin's name." Tiana sighed. She felt relieved. "But there is a problem." Tiana furrowed her brows. "What problem?"

"The reporters you called over to record the scandal between her and Michael. How are you going to explain that?"

Tiana smiled. "That will not be a problem. I already spoke to them."

"And they will be quiet enough?"

Tiana nodded. "They will be."

"Then I think we have a deal. We are going to have an interview to explain all this. We are going to meet one more time. It's not to explain what her work as our model would be. She already had all the ideas about that. She's been working so hard on that. I must commend her."

Opera smiled. Finally, someone from the Miller Empire acknowledged her.

"It's just to talk about the contract."

"Can I ask a question?" Opera asked.

"Of course you can."

"Will the contract be over once the issue has died down?"

Charlotte smiled. "No, it won't. Though the process by which you are getting the job isn't the right way, you are still qualified for the job. I did not make the decision alone. The board members accept that you become the model. It doesn't matter if the issue died down or not."

"Are you saying there will not be any issues in the long run?" Tiana asked.

Charlotte nodded. "Trust me, there won't be. It is a decision from the board."

Before meeting up with Opera and her manager, Charlotte had gathered so much information about Opera. She had also found out that every portfolio submitted by her had been thrown into the trash can without proper screening which explains why she never got to work with them.

Opera was not the only one who suffered from that. Every model that had submitted their portfolio was not called for further interviews because their resume never got to the right place.

Finding out who was behind it, Charlotte threatened to tell the media about it if something was not done quickly. She got a reply a few hours later that Opera was the best candidate chosen by the boards, though she wasn't the only model chosen; about ten of them; she is going to be their head model.

Charlotte was relieved that even if she ended up leaving the company, these models would still have their stand and would only leave once their contract expired and wasn't renewed or if they caused trouble for themselves. "She might be the head model. You will get a proper email by the end of today." Charlotte added.

Opera smiled. Her dream to become a model at the Millar Empire is not only coming true, but she also got a post she could not dream of.

"Did you help her out?" Tiana asked.

Charlotte scoffed slightly. "Do you think I will be willing to help someone I caught flirting with my husband?". Tiana sighed. "You should stop being curious. Opera here has everything it takes to work with the Miller Empire. I only made that known. Do you not know what your sister can do?"

Tiana gasped. "You know she is my sister?"

"Of course, I do and I have my ways." Charlotte stared at her wristwatch. "I have to go. I will let you know when the next meeting will be."

"And the interview?" Tiana asked.

"Let her post on her social media that she is the actress whom the people think is in a secret affair with the Miller Empire's President. She just needs to tell them that she met with me and not my husband using the pictures as proof. She can't disclose why she met with me yet and she can't let them know that she met with his wife. Just tell them you met with the assistant general manager and the team leader of the Project Department. We will have an official interview to not only tell them why she met with me but also to officially announce her as a model at the company."

Tiana smiled. "Thank you. Mrs Miller."

"Just call me Charlotte."

It's been a week since Opera has been officially announced as the head model of the Miller Empire alongside others who will work with her. The Miller Empire's stocks have skyrocketed beyond imagination. Every news is now in favor of Melvin. A lot of people who have written negative comments have apologized and Melvin is so happy that everything has gone back to normal.

Though the news is in Melvin's favor they are still curious to know why he had hidden such a beautiful and intelligent woman. A lot of people want to know what their relationship is like.

This became disturbing to Charlotte. Though she was the one who made all these happen she did not foresee her relationship with Melvin becoming a headline. She never mentioned being Melvin's wife but the pictures showing her face while she walked with Melvin into another room proved it.

Charlotte did not know who took the pictures and why they were posted. Her mind drifted back to what Mia had told her.

Could she be involved? She wondered.

Charlotte met with Melvin so they could come up with a solution. Melvin's answer shocked her.

"We are going to show them that we have a happy home," Melvin said and Charlotte furrowed her brows.

"How?"
