As they walked further, they saw a relaxation room that Miranda had specifically designed just beyond a door. It had eight suites, each equipped with a bed, wardrobe, full–length mirror, and a sink.

Outside in the communal area, there were coffee tables, bookshelves, a swing, and a ping–pong table for leisure activities.

Since Miranda loved cooking, she also set up a small kitchen that was fully stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. This entire section was managed by a smart system and was strictly separated from the lab area to avoid contamination.

“There’s a gym upstairs and a swimming pool in the backyard. The view from there is great. You can enjoy a coffee while looking out at the scenery. Oh, and I plan to put a snack shelf here since we have a foodie on the team,” she said.

When Miranda first designed the space, she had debated whether it was necessary to dedicate so much room for rest and relaxation. After all, it didn’t seem quite like a traditional lab setup.

But then she realized that working on experiments and writing papers required extreme focus. People weren’t machines, so how could anyone work at such a high intensity without taking breaks?

A reasonable amount of rest and relaxation was important. So, if it was going to be done, it should be done right. Hence, that led to the current design.

Theodore looked around and exclaimed, “This doesn’t look like a lab–it’s more like a resort!”

Sebastian smiled. “That’s exactly what Madison said.”

“This resting area is amazing. It even has hot water for showers! If you’re pulling an all–nighter on experiments, you could just stay here! It’s like being at home, Theodore added as he ran his hand over

the door frame with a look of admiration.

Joli wore a similar expression of envy. He wondered if one day he too could have a space like this.

A space where he didn’t have to deal with all the bothersome people and things around him, and could just focus on his research.

Sebastian noticed Joli’s reaction and suddenly said, “Sometimes, resisting is easier than enduring. It’s just that most people don’t dare to try.”

Joli remained silent for a moment before replying, “What if the resistance fails?

Sebastian smirked. “There’s no guaranteed success in anything. If you fail, you fail. You just start over from scratch. As long as you’re alive, what’s there to fear?”

Joli fell silent again, currently lost in thought.

Meanwhile, Theodore, who was oblivious to the conversation between the two, continued exploring like an excited child. He was touching everything and marveling at the space.

After the opening ceremony, Miranda, Madison, and Sebastian finally had a moment to rest after seeing off the guests.

Madison dangled her legs and scrunched up her face. After standing all morning, I can’t even feel my legs anymore!”

Sebastian sank into the sofa in the lounge area, letting out a long sigh. “I’m glad that’s over.”

As she stood by the bookshelf, Miranda wasn’t as relaxed as the others. “Sebastian, did you make sure to brief the reporters before they left?” she asked.

Sebastian sat up straight. “I was planning to do it myself, but my grandma offered to handle it.

“Don’t worry. She used to work for the press office andknows how to deal with reporters better than

anyone.”

“Good.” Miranda nodded. “There’s something else I need to tell you both, and it’s just between us for now.”

“What’s going on?” Madison asked upon noticing the seriousness in her tone.

“When I walked Dr. Young out earlier, she quietly told me that from now on, all of our academic output will be credited to the Infinity Lab, not the college–or even Bedford College.”

“What does that mean?” Madison asked in confusion.

Sebastian’s eyes narrowed. “Is Dr. Young suggesting that our academic achievements will be detached from the college entirely?”
