After 4 months.

“So you mean to say is… Well… You’re a werewolf?” Dr. Khan asked. Things has been going well with her and Eric until he told him about her and she ran in fear. She stormed into our apartment to confront me and I sat her down for tea to calm her down.

“Yes, Brooke. Supernatural beings do exist in this world. But in our case, it’s in our genes so we don’t have any control over it. We were born with this. ” I explained.

“Do you attack people? What is your diet?” She asked. Her knowledge of our lifestyle seems to be rooted in how mainstream media portrayed us. But no. We’re not the beast that they think of us. We’re part human and mostly human in appearance, our diet contains human food and animal hunting. The only difference is our enhanced senses and our ability to phase into a werewolf. We keep our identity in secret to protect our kind from people who tried to harm and study us.

I spoke to Brooke the whole night and explained to her everything there is about the other creatures leaving amongst humans.

“So you mean to say that I a mere human living in my own peace, is mated to the second in command of the biggest and strongest pack of wolves in America?” I nodded in response to her reaction after I explained to her the sacred mate bond.

“Understanding that you’re human, Eric would reconsider marking you or pursuing a relationship. But you have to know he waited all these years for you.”

“I really like him, Bellamy. First time I saw him in the pit being wheeled in I was attracted to him. I even got jealous cause I thought you were with him. When he asked me out I couldn’t say no. It’s like I’m being drawn to him and it makes me feel happy and satisfied for the longest time.” She explained. She then looked into my eyes and started to tear up.

“All this news about supernatural beings makes me feel overwhelmed and I may have made him feel like I pushed him away. Oh my gosh! Bellamy, he thinks I hate him.” She stood up in worry after saying that and started pacing in my kitchen. “What do I do now? I want him, Bellamy. “

“It’s okay Brooke. Go give him a call and he’ll definitely pick it up. He would never say no to you. Talk to him if you’re ready, okay?” I reassured. “But Brooke, this is a secret you can never ever tell anyone. ” There are dangers that come to humans who try to reveal our kind to the world. Most alphas take matters into their own hands and shut those who mean harm.

“I’ll never harm Eric. ” She said.

After she said that the door opened and two pairs of footsteps went in.

“Eric!” Brooklyn then ran and gave him a hug. Not caring about the others in the room.

“I was worried! You drove here overwhelmed and alone.” Eric hugged her. You can hear the pure emotions in his voice. “I didn’t want you to catch trouble on your way. I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself.”

“I don’t care who you are and what you are. You are Eric! A beautiful being and I love you. I love you with all my heart.” They poured their emotions into each other in the middle of our living room. Luka walked to my side and placed his arms over my shoulders. We quietly watched the two.

Eric is different with Brooklyn. He was gentle and showing, unlike the arrogant and playful Eric that I know.

I knew for sure that the feelings he had for me were just because I was the closest thing to his mate. The same with Collin a few years back. Both guys were attracted to me because somehow their mate’s scent was on me.

After a while, I served them snacks and drinks and when it was getting late they headed out. Luka and I were on the couch cuddling.

“You know I’ve realized something.” Luka looked at me waiting for the continuation. “Eric and Collin were into me because I was the closest thing they have from their mates. I might be considered a bridge.”

“Mmhmm. You’re only mine so what they felt before was fake. Your heart only belongs to me.” He confidently said. I rolled my eyes and played with his chest before asking.

“Now that both you and Eric are not in the pack who would be there to guard.”

“Trey and Forrest are always there to guard the pack as gammas. Plus we’re mostly in the clear after we defeated the rogues. Eric will be here with Brooklyn, the same as with me. We’re both hopeless romantics waiting for our women to come to the pack with us and be our queens. “

“A doctor for a mate can be a little pain in the a*s, can it? We’re so driven with passion, we no longer have time for love. ” I said.

“I’d love for you to stay in the pack and keep my house warm but I understand that you’ll lose your mind being a housewife. You can live the life you want with me. But next time please transfer to a hospital near the pack to continue your residency.” Well, this is what’s important about being in a relationship. Compromising.

I never want to make him drive 6 hours a day to work, that’s 6 hours that we could’ve spent time together.

“I’ve taken that into consideration, my love. I’ll move back to the pack once I’m done with my residency. Maybe I can continue at the hospital where dad’s clinic is. ” He kissed my forehead as a form of thank you.

“How about I take you out tomorrow after work. Since your hard head has decided to compromise.” He said teasing me. I rolled my eye at him before responding.

“Why are your sick of driving already?”

“I admit that I am. But it’s for us. I’d rather drive 6 hours a day to sleep beside you than to spend a night alone in my bed. My patience has vastly improved when you left me for a long time. But 6 hours is all I can do. If you plan to move to a different state I’m afraid I’ll have to tie you to my waist.”

There’s a limit to people’s sacrifice and I would never want him to sacrifice more than what he can offer. Even though it was a joke, I still felt bad for him.

As a high-ranking werewolf and as a busy doctor who almost lives in the hospital it was very important to find a middle ground in the relationship or else one has to take the burden for themselves. And as Luna I was to fulfill my duties along Luka as well.

“You’ll have to take me to the most expensive restaurant in the city or else I might consider moving.”

“Consider it done.”

We haven’t had a proper date due to our busy schedules in a while so we were extremely excited for this one.

The next day after my shift I went home and got prepared.

“Hey, baby! I might run a little late. Do you mind driving to the restaurant and meeting me there?” I instantly agreed. It’ll just be a short drive. When I ended the call, I went down to get my car. Upon realizing, I forgot the gift I got for Luka in the hospital, I stopped by and retrieved it before heading back.

I was standing beside my car about to open when suddenly I heard an unfamiliar voice whisper my name.

“Bellamy.”

I tried to run but he injected wolfsbane on my neck. A good amount to render me immobile in a few seconds. I passed out in a few seconds.
