True Love -
(Book 2) – Chapter 78
− Megan, you should have told me. I was very rude, I…
− Jack, for God’s sake, that’s not the problem here.
− Yes, I know that she is not, I just don’t know… You should have told me everything, I would have taken precautions.
− Well, I’m sorry!
− So is it my baby that you are carrying in your womb? She smiled at him and knelt down to touch her belly.
She didn’t expect something like that, it wasn’t so bad after all.
− Yes, it’s your baby Jack.
− Did you think you would have it without saying a single word to me? I claim him.
The moment she feared had arrived, she knew that he would complain to her for hiding her pregnancy for four months.
− Well, what did you want, I didn’t know how you were going to take news like this. In your office you had told me things that I thought telling you that I was pregnant wasn’t going to change anything.
− When you left here were you pregnant? He stood up and looked at her with a frown.
− Yes, I think I got pregnant the first time we made love.
− I don’t blame you for hiding it from me, but I do blame you for thinking about having it and not telling me anything. Did you think you would be alone without him knowing about the existence of his father?
− I don’t know, Jack, but now we have to think about how we are going to handle this situation.
− Wait a moment. He began to think and then stared at her face. –You said that you loved the father of your child, but that he did not love you, that means that you…
− Does that matter now Jack? She interrupted him.
− Yes, it does matter.
− Oh yes, why? If you don’t feel anything for me. It is best that we focus on the baby issue.
She was right, it was complicated enough knowing that she lived in Atlanta and he in Texas. She had to think of a solution, and the most logical one was to propose that he move to the ranch and that the baby be born in Texas, but she also had to hear her opinion on that, she was very stubborn. And the other thing was that she was going to move between the two of them, she loved him and surely expected more than just moving into her house. The decision was more than clear.
− Well, I know what we are going to do. She looked at him expectantly for him to continue. –Let’s get married Megan. That answer was anything but romantic, it lacked feelings.
− You don’t want that Jack.
− But I do it for you, for him baby. I want him to grow up within a family.
− We don’t even get along, why do you want to marry a woman you argue with most of the time?
− Well we are not always arguing, things can improve.
− I don’t think we are a good example for the baby.
− Of course we will be Megan. We should both change a little, and try to get along better. I promise to do my part.
− Are you telling me that this will be a marriage of convenience?
− It won’t be like that, we will make this work Megan.
She must have been completely crazy for even thinking about accepting her proposal, but she also didn’t want her son to have a life of travel or away from one of her parents, she couldn’t bear to see him suffer from being divided by be with her parents.
− What happens if I want to have more children Jack?
− We will have them, you will be my wife. Don’t expect us to get married and not be intimate. We will have the children you want.
At least he was willing to want to have more family, maybe in time he would fall in love with her. So he would have to give her a hand to make it work.
− Okay Jack, let’s get married. He approached and hugged her.
− Everything will be fine, tomorrow we will announce the news to everyone to start organizing the wedding.
− Yes, it seems good to me. He grabbed her chin and looked up from her, sealing the deal with her with a warm k**s.
− Now that I know that that baby is mine, I want to make love to you more. He told her between her lips, he took her by her waist and took her to the bathroom. –Since I haven’t showered, I invite you to accompany me. The tub is now ready!
She didn’t want to resist, if she wanted to put her plan into action to make him fall in love with her, she had to fulfill her role and give herself completely to him.
− Grisell just entered Megan’s room but she wasn’t there, do you know where she is?
− And as I’m going to know, I’m believing that she was still asleep.
− It’s strange, she didn’t tell me anything about her leaving early.
Suddenly they heard noises coming from the stairs where both women watched as Jack came down fully dressed for work and Megan in her nightgown. The two women looked at each other and then at the couple.
− Good morning everyone. Jack said, he pulled out a chair for Megan to sit on.
− And they are going to explain to me what is happening here. Grisell asked, totally confused.
− You see, grandmother. Megan told her grandmother the whole truth from her affair with Jack to her pregnancy to culminate in their marriage.
To her surprise, her grandmother had taken it wonderfully, she was so happy that her great-grandson is Jack’s son and even happier for the wedding. Grisell and Melisa immediately began to organize everything about the wedding.
− Well since everything is resolved, I’m going to work. I leave them to organize everything to their liking. She drank her coffee, grabbed a couple of toasts with jam from the table and left.
− Okay until later. She told him Megan, they both looked at each other for a moment then he took her hat and put it on and gave them a greeting gesture.
− Remember to move your things to my room, if you want to take something out or put something in it you can do so. She left the house to her car.
− So you two are in love?
− Well Grandma, I don’t think Jack feels the same way about me.
− But they are going to get married!
− That doesn’t mean he has feelings for me.
− But it is clear that you do like him, and now you are expecting his baby.
− Yes, grandmother, but this marriage is more so that the baby is born within the family. But despite this, I will make sure that he changes his feelings for me.
− That’s how you say friend, go for it. His friend encouraged him.
− I hope this union turns out very well. Megan took a long sigh.
− It will turn out well, we will support you in every way possible.
They should get to work on the wedding instead of talking about how she would make Jack fall in love with her, of course it would be a simple wedding, nothing extravagant and it would have to be quick before her pregnancy became more noticeable.
− I would like to go to San Antonio to buy a nice dress.
− Yes, I will talk to Rodrigo to take us later.
− Fantastic! Grandma, you could prepare the food that is going to be served, we are not going to invite many people.
− Of course girl, I’ll take care of that, for now we can get going to move your belongings to your future husband’s room.
− Of course grandma. She hoped that the decision she had made was the right one.
