True Love
(Book 2) – Chapter 73

− Who took it? He was really furious with Megan.

− Rodrigo took her, but in her own truck.

− Why doesn’t anyone call me early? It’s just that I don’t count in this house. I exclaim tensely.

− And why do you bother? It was not what you wanted, I thought that my granddaughter’s presence worried you, since she is no longer here you can relax.

− I am the owner of this ranch, at least he should have told me that he was leaving.

− Well, she told me to thank you for everything. Plus her flight left very early.

− I get up early, damn it!

She stood up, placing her palms on the table.

− And what is all this about? Grisell shouted at him.

− Incredible! I’m leaving and don’t wait for me for lunch. He took his hat and left the kitchen slamming the door, while in the distance the squeak of his car could be heard.

− What bug is biting this one? Grisell said.

− I already know which one bit him. Well, her love bug, he fell in love with her, that’s why he’s so furious because she left without saying a single word to him.

− Do you believe?

− It is very clear, and my friend left without being able to realize it.

− We must do something Mel, those two have to see each other again.

− Let things go by themselves, it is better not to force Megan and Jack. She gave a long sigh. – I’ll go do the laundry!

− If maybe you’re right, I just hope it’s not too late by then.

Two months later, Jack entered the kitchen as usual to have lunch in the company of Rodrigo. Since Megan had left, Jack was in a bad mood most of the day, he was almost unbearable, the only one who half tolerated him was Rodrigo.

− I bet they come very hungry.

− Well yes, the day has been horrible with this heat, we had to attend to two mad cows. Rodrigo told him.

− Well, lunch is ready! In a moment Melisa will come down to accompany us.

− That’s great, I’ve missed her a lot.

− Don’t be an idiot Rodrigo, you only spend six hours without seeing her.

− Jack why do you have to talk like that! Are you in a bad mood again?

− Leave it Grisell. Rodrigo told him calmly.

− I’m hungry, because it’s better if you don’t serve the food.

− Come on man, relax! Rodrigo patted him on the back.

When Grisell finished serving lunch, the phone began to ring when she answered. Her tone of voice changed drastically, becoming very cheerful. Jack instantly became tense, it had been two months now, but he remembered Megan as if she were there like every night she was staying at home. He made her angry because every time she called she never said hello, surely she had already forgotten him while he was like an idiot in a bad mood all the time.

Maybe she was dating a guy already, making her life, just thinking about it made her stomach turn.

− If she bothers you so much that she calls and doesn’t ask for you, then you call her. Rodrigo told him in a whisper.

− Shut up! I’m not interested in talking to her.

− Now! But your face says the opposite, and no one tolerates your bad mood boss.

− And what with that? My father’s humor was the same.

− Your father never took out his frustrations with his employees, his man, that woman drives you crazy because you don’t realize that.

− That’s not like that! And I don’t take out my frustrations with my employees, if they don’t do the job well I have the right to demand that they do it better.

− Nobody has said anything about that, but there are days when nothing is done and you are still in a bad mood. Jack, you are in love with Megan and her departure has you like this.

− Mind your own business.

− Okay boss, you are the boss. She continued eating without saying a word.

In love? He was absurd, well if he missed her a little he couldn’t deny it, but in love with her. He did not believe in that possibility. He was angry with her for leaving the way he did, although he did not understand why every day he was in a bad mood and thought about her almost all day. Was that possibility possible? Just then Grisell entered the dining room with two cups of coffee.

− How is your granddaughter Grisell? Rodrigo asked him, he knew he did it because Jack wouldn’t ask about her.

− He is very well, unfortunately this month he won’t come to see me either, he says he has a lot of work. Grisell’s voice was filled with sadness, she deeply missed her granddaughter.

− It will come, be patient.

− I hope so son, Melisa is in the kitchen, she said that when she gets free she will see him on the porch.

− Thank you Grisell! So I’ll have to put up with you for another month because of the miss’s absence! She told her friend.

Jack felt like strangling him but he focused on his coffee. Another month that he wouldn’t show up, maybe he didn’t care that her grandmother was dying of sadness for her, after looking for her so much and then not coming to see her. Rodrigo was right, he would be bitter for another month.

A few weeks later at the “El Pride JM” ranch, Jack was taking inventory of what was there and what was missing, to make the weekly shopping list. That day especially, he was in a very bad temper, he had hardly spoken to anyone, he had dreamed about Megan, and it had not been just any dream, he was making love to her like never before, he had woken up sweaty and excited that not even the cold shower had relieved the pain. irritation that it had simply been a dream. He missed that damned woman and that irritated him even more, he called every day saying the same thing as always that he couldn’t come from her and making a thousand excuses, while he had very intense dreams about her.

− Excuse me, boss, but the moon mare doesn’t want to be locked up at midnight, she’s pissed off.

− The hell with that mare, what the hell does he want, if she is the best horse. Shout.

− Sorry boss! His employee quickly left.

− Leave her still, if she doesn’t want your sorrel, offer her another horse, you have many good ones. Rodrigo told him, approaching him.

− I want to hook her up with that horse.

− But she doesn’t want it, you can’t force her, you know that midnight is very stubborn and abrupt.

− Yes, of course, and she is a pretty little flower, right?

− In fact, she is, a beautiful flower and apparently you haven’t realized it.

That conversation no longer had anything to do with horses.

− Does she seem like a beautiful flower to you?

− Of course she is, anyone with eyes can see it.

− What do you want to imply? Releasing the pages where he was writing down.

− You are blind! She is delicate and just wants to be treated well, if you treat her roughly you won’t get anything from her.

− And do you see that in her? You are quite an expert in the female s*x, right?

− Yes, you can say yes.

Rodrigo didn’t see it coming when Jack threw a punch at his face that caused him to fall into the pile of hay that he had gathered for Jack to count. Jack was furious, he didn’t know why he had hit Rodrigo but he had.

− Damn Jack. He touched his nose, which was beginning to bleed profusely. – What the hell is wrong with you? He rubbed his shirt sleeve over his nose to clean it, but he was still bleeding.

− You asked for it!

− You’re an idiot man, take that blessed plane and go see her once and for all, damn you broke my nose.
