True Love
Chapter 28

The albino girl listened to the whole story of the humans from the stairs, the truth is that she didn’t feel like sharing a table with those two women. She felt disgusted to be under the same roof of a house. The Alpha had accepted the young women as if it was nothing, knowing that it would have repercussions for her family. This Shery woman might be the mate of the Alpha’s son, but that didn’t mean she would be accepted by the council.

She looked towards the door, the best thing to do was to avoid the meeting with those wolves. The further away she was from the trouble they’d gotten themselves into, the less splashy she’d be. Maybe she could get something to eat where they had gathered her people. She walked without looking sideways and opened the door, then slammed it shut. She didn’t care about anyone who lived or was in that house, the only thing she cared about was getting out of those territories and returning to her own.

She arrived at a shelter where the albino women and children were, and when they saw her, they all ran to meet her, happy to see their Alpha.

-Miss, it’s good to see you. A pregnant wolf said to her.

-I will not abandon them in these lands. Have they been treated well? Have they been fed?

-Yes, miss, and you?

-Not yet.

-I’ll go and ask her for something right away.

-All right, thank you very much.

She sat down to wait for the woman with her food, she was starving, she hadn’t eaten properly for days and she needed all her strength to train to become a she-wolf. She felt frustrated because being the daughter of an Alpha she had not achieved it with her fifteen years, she would soon turn six and it was not well seen to achieve the transformation after that age. She would not be seen as a leader.

Her father gave her a piece of advice that she remembered perfectly, “Don’t despair, don’t fight your inner wolf, it will come on its own. If you push it, you won’t transform” but how could she not, she couldn’t protect her own in that weak form.

If she didn’t get the change she would be one more of the pack, one of the few humans born of wolf parents who never get to transform into one of them. She sighed.

The woman arrived with a stewed dish for her. It smelled delicious, her stomach growled like never before in her life, Marcus was right about one thing, her pack was starving. But they would make the most of being in Blue Moon, of that she was sure. She finished devouring the food, she thanked the young mother. And mentally she thanked whoever had prepared such a dish.

-Listen, I want you to spread the word to the other women, especially the younger ones. I don’t want them to get involved with any of the men in this herd, understood?

-But miss, we are going to live here. It is normal that maybe one of the men will fall in love or fall in love with one of the she-wolves.

-No! It’s forbidden. It’s the rules and you know it. Besides, we won’t live here forever.

-And how will we grow the pack, miss? You know that we are all females, the cubs… They… The woman’s eyes glazed over when she remembered what happened. -We can’t populate our herd without men.

-I know. But we’ll find a solution. I know there is another pack of white wolves, they are outside these domains, hiding, but I will find them.

-I know. But we will look for a solution. I know there is another pack of white wolves, they are outside these domains, hiding, but I will find them.

-The woman wiped away the tears running down her cheeks.

It was her duty to find more of her own, with only the women she had they would not populate anything, only three were pregnant and no one could tell her what s*x the pups would be, and that was not all. They could not wait so many years for the cubs to become adults and procreate. It was a nightmare.

-Princess Deysi, the Alpha requires your presence. Marcus’s Beta stood before her.

-And now what will he want.

-Follow me.

The young albino girl followed the Beta curiously, they were walking along a narrow path filled with huge trees. Why would the Alpha summon her to a place like this?

-Where are we going? he asked.

-Keep walking…” Answered the Beta seriously.

They came to an open space, it looked like they were using it for fights or training. In the middle was Marcus, waiting for her.

-What is all this? he asked with his arms crossed.

-Your training! I hope you’ve been feeding well, princess.

Maybe she was delirious from the food, maybe she hadn’t heard the Alpha right. He wanted to train her? Why?

-You want to train me? She repeated again.

-Yes. You’re old enough, I did it with my children. So I’ll help you.

-I don’t need your help Alpha.

-Of course you do, how will you become if you don’t train. The pain that the changes in your bones will cause you won’t be able to endure if you don’t train your human body.

She looked at him defiantly, she knew he was right, her father had taken it upon himself to tell her all that. But she needed to do it on her own, she didn’t want to owe favours to anyone, least of all the Alpha.

-I don’t want to owe the Alpha anything. I can do it myself.

-Of course you can do it. I’ll just give you the tools to do it on your own.

-Okay! The Alpha nodded and they got to work.

Marcus thought he would take the opportunity to train the young girl, but he would also instill in her some respect for others. He would try to change the rules of that pack, to make them better people. And he was sure he could do it, and what better way to start than with his Queen.

(…)

-So, the albino girl is in the domain of my dear friend Marcus. What interesting news. Daren was stroking the ears of one of his wild wolves. -I never thought he would be so stupid as to take the cub to his lands. He laughed heartily. -He’s a complete idiot, that Alpha.

He looked at the animal next to him with his tail between his legs, sitting on a log deep in the forest. That’s where he used to go to hear the news of his little wild friends.

What a treat that news was. Three birds with one stone…

-All three girls in one place. Because they always make things easier for me. He laughed again.

He breathed in the scent of the forest, it smelled of pine and damp earth. He liked being there instead of his cold concrete mission. The forest complemented him, he was in his element. He could stay there for years. But he had duties, and unfinished business.

-Well done Derek, you’ve done a great job. I thought you’d be good for nothing, but you turned out to be a good, faithful wolf.

The animal moved away from his Alpha as soon as he stood up, stretched a little. And then he looked back at the wolf, who still had his tail between his legs.

-What are you waiting for? Go over there and eat something, do you want me to feed you?

The grey wolf turned on its paws and ran off, losing its way among the rocks and trees. Daren looked at it and shook his head.

-It’s getting harder and harder with the new ones. He massaged his neck, and set off for home.

But nothing good awaited him when he got there, their eyes were looking for him everywhere and when they saw him arrive, they informed him that Steven had been captured trying to escape from the house. He asked them to take him immediately to the place, he would have a serious conversation with that idiot.

-Daren, I swear to you, I wasn’t trying to escape. I just wanted to get out and get some fresh air.

-Really? What do you take me for?

-Your men got it all wrong. -I didn’t even have a bag with me. I didn’t even have a bag with me.

-That doesn’t prove anything, you could walk away without luggage. -Why did you want to run away?

-I wasn’t going to. I’m here waiting for one of my daughters to show up.

-Daughters? He repeated with irony.

-Yes. -Answer frowningly.

-Well, you see, Steven. If my men catch you running away again, I promise you’ll have a bullet in your head. Do I make myself clear?

-Yes… Yes… -Yes, Daren.

-Yeah! -Good! I’m out of here.

He left the house more frustrated than ever, he longed to rip that idiot’s head off and feed it to his boys. But he could also use him as one of his army. He had a lot of plans in mind. He just needed to get Shery in his power and that damn albino kid, he didn’t feel like having to go to the trouble of impregnating her, but if he had to, he would.

His own son would have to end the life of the one who brought him into the world. That was the way things were, and that was what made life interesting. He tied his coat tightly and drove off in his car.

Damn Daren, Steven said to himself once his menace and his men had left the house where he was practically imprisoned. Yes, he had tried to escape. But the damn guards caught him and he couldn’t get away.
