True Love -
(Book 4) – Chapter 147
A few days had passed and everything was quiet, that day in the afternoon he had a doctor’s appointment. And everyone was waiting for the results of the s*x, the grandparents were anxious to finally know if it would be a girl or a boy. She didn’t care, she just wanted him to be born healthy. They arrived at a prestigious clinic, they had to travel to the city as the family doctor did not work in Santorini.
When they arrived at the clinic they were greeted by a very kind lady, the doctor’s secretary, who guided her to a cubicle to be examined, she was nervous and anxious. The doctor came in as normal, they introduced themselves and Antoni talked to him about his father’s improvement.
-Well, are you ready to be checked out, Andromeda?
-Absolutely, doctor.
After a thorough examination and confirmation to both parents that everything was in order with the baby and the mother, the doctor left the s*x of the baby until last.
-Well, now that everything is in order, I want to let you know that you have a very healthy, big and strong baby boy.
Antoni kissed his fiancée’s lips with love, of course it was logical, he was dying to have a boy. She for her part was happy to please him, and even more so because the doctor indicated that he was healthy. That was the most important thing. Heading back to her in-laws’ house, she thought of nothing else but the wedding and her baby. Soon he would see his family and give them the news, for the moment he would wait. At five months everything was going well.
Two months later…
The wedding had been delayed, as some commitments arose in the company and Antoni was forced to travel. So in about three more weeks the ceremony would take place. Her belly was bursting, her baby was definitely huge. It looked like he was playing football inside her. Which made her happy, but also sick. Her fiancé would be arriving in two days from his long trip, and she was anxious to see him again.
That morning she was alone at home, well with the service staff. But she was literally alone. She came out of her room because she was dying for a nice breakfast. But as she was about to go down the stairs a shadow appeared behind her. Scaring her to death. She placed her hands on her belly as a form of protection against the threat of that person.
-What are you doing here?
-I’ve come to say goodbye, my dear.
-How did you get into this house?
-I have my tricks, I told you, I know it very well.
-Get out of here, and take your lies somewhere else. I snap at him.
-Oh, you seem to have believed your boyfriend, you poor naive girl. Fat and naive.
-Get the hell out of here.
She didn’t understand how Antoni’s disgusting secretary had got into the house, but most important of all, what did she want? She wasn’t buying the story that she’d gone to say goodbye.
-Of course I’ll go. He said, taking a few steps forward as Andromeda backed away.
-What do you want? He asked cautiously.
-Hurt you, bitch.
She opened her eyes wide at his words, her expression was scary. She was evil, and she felt that aura of envy and jealousy. She had to get away from there as soon as possible. But sadly, she didn’t make it, the woman lunged at her, pushing her away as Andromeda deliberately fell down the stairs. Doing everything she could to protect her belly, but it was no use, every blow she received hurt like hell.
In the end she lay on the floor, unable to move, but conscious. She felt high heels running past her as she heard a door open and close, at least the witch had left. Finally she could no longer stand it and fell asleep on the floor.
She didn’t know the voices around her, only very low whispers. She tried to open her eyes but it was no use. They were heavy. What happened? Her body ached like hell. Then she remembered the madwoman and the stairs, her baby. Her baby. She made an effort to wake up. Her eyes didn’t obey but she finally managed it, the first person she saw on her back was Antoni, had he come back yet? How long had she been asleep?
She stirred in the bed where she was lying, what was that place? Everything around her was white. And she smelled alcohol, was she in the hospital? It all came rushing into her head so fast that a terrible headache broke out. He sat up in a hurry complaining of another powerful pain in his h**s and ribs. As she brought her hands to the spot she felt that she was bandaged.
-Hello love, I’m glad you woke up.
-How long have I been unconscious?
-Two days, love.
-The baby? I ask with fear.
-He’ll be fine. Just… You just need to be on bed rest for the remaining three months.
-What? -Why?
-The fall was serious, love. You have to be on bed rest to make it to the end of labour.
-I understand. She said crying. -That woman is crazy.
-What woman? He frowned.
-Your secretary. -Who else? That wretched woman pushed me down the stairs.
Antoni broke away from her as he stared at her in astonishment, he had thought Andromeda slipped down the stairs. But the story was different, it never crossed his mind that it could have been that woman. What was he thinking? He would find her and make her pay for it, and Andromeda would lose the baby. They had saved him as a joke.
-I’ll find her and I’ll make her pay for this damage, love. I swear.
-My wedding! Everything will be cancelled. He said in tears.
-We’ll do it any time now, please don’t be upset, it’s not good for the baby.
The doors to the room opened, and in walked Andromeda’s parents along with her best friend Peter. When she saw the three people, her eyes watered even more and she burst into tears. She was happy to see them and to have him by her side in such a difficult moment.
-Mummy! The woman ran to embrace her in tears.
-Antoni, how is she? said her father, holding out his hand.
-Well, sir.
-Daughter, how did you fall down the stairs? asked her mother, wiping her tears with a handkerchief.
-You’re careless, you know that. Said Peter, giving her a loving hug.
Antoni, seeing his friend’s scene, did not feel comfortable. He could be his best friend in the whole world, but in the end he was a man. The young man planted a k**s on his cheek and it made the Greek’s b***d boil, something he was trying to claim. This was no time for jealous scenes.
-Thank you for coming. Said the young woman.
-You’re fat, but beautiful. His friend complimented him.
While the Greek clenched his jaw to the point of breaking a tooth.
-Don’t say things like that at a time like this. The young man laughed.
-Daughter, what happened? asked the father.
The girl began to relate what had happened, she had no choice but to say that the woman was a former lover of her fiancé. I could tell by the look on Peter’s face that he was not happy. But everyone had to support Antoni, it was not his fault that the woman was crazy.
