True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 975
"Xavier, what do you mean?"
Miranda frowned and asked.
"If you don't have Mr. Quell's weakness in your hands, you will lose. But if you do, there will still be a chance for you to turn the situation around."
"What can I do to reverse the situation?" Miranda laughed mockingly. "I understand what you mean. You want me to fight with him."
"Judging from your tone of voice, it seems that you have something on him. Am I right?" Xavier paused for a few seconds and exclaimed, "If so, things will be easy!" "I've been with him for so many years. Of course, I would have something on him. It's just..." Miranda trailed off.
Just as the words were about to come out of her mouth, she suddenly stopped talking and did not continue.
Xavier immediately urged, "Aunt Miranda, what do you have in mind? Can you tell me? Let me analyze the situation for you."
"Forget it." Miranda obviously did not want to speak further on the subject. "I don't want to say anything else. Xavier, you don't understand. Let me think about it again."
"Aunt Miranda, I have confirmed the case of Marry and Simon. They will be prosecuted. By then, we won't be able to do anything," Xavier explained. "If you want to save Marry, you have to hurry up and make a decision. Don't delay until the prosecution. Then, you will be on the right track."
"I know," Miranda replied solemnly. "I know that even if you didn't tell me."
Xavier fell silent. Since that was the case, he didn't need to say more. "Xavier, I don't want to divorce him."
Xavier was quiet for a while before suggesting, "Well, in this case, you can beg Mr. Quell. Generally, people like him will be softhearted and not hard-headed. You should show him your weak side. Who knows, maybe he has a heart of compassion."
Miranda shook her head and answered helplessly, "I think the possibility is too small. He is the kind of person who will not change his mind after making a decision."
"Alas... You want to save Marry, yet you don't want to get a divorce. I'm afraid it'll be difficult," Xavier remarked. "You can't have the best of both worlds."
"Perhaps." Miranda had no faith in herself. She then muttered, "Xavier, I'm really going to be done for this time."
Xavier fell speechless after a while.
"Xavier?" Miranda called out.
"Yes?"
Miranda realized something and said, "Don't worry, I have Diego's weakness in my hands. I will also help you with your affairs. For now, you have to find a way to kidnap Grace or Alice again, but preferably Grace's child. It'll be easier for us to negotiate that way."
"Okay, I'll do my best." After that, Xavier quickly hung up the phone.
Miranda sat in the room, her narrowed eyes filled with hatred. She began to pack up and was ready to head back to the capital city.
Little did she know, Diego had already asked for a lawyer to help him file for a divorce.
As soon as Miranda opened the door, the butler came up and informed her, "Madam Scott, the lawyer is waiting to meet you now." "Lawyer?" Miranda was stunned. "What lawyer?"
"The lawyer who is handling the divorce," the butler replied. "Madam Scott, please sign the papers and start the legal process." Miranda was utterly shocked.
"H-How could he be so cruel to get rid of me this quickly. What a cruel man! I doubt that he has ever loved anyone."
Miranda gritted her teeth, and her expression fell.
She couldn't understand why Diego seemed to be in such a rush. He was so anxious to get rid of her.
"I want to see Diego," Miranda demanded as she still wanted to make the last effort.
"Madam Scott." Just then, a man in a suit came with a briefcase in his hand, looking like a professional. "My name is Peter Ross, the lawyer who is in charge of your divorce affairs. Can we talk in private?" "I want to see Diego," Miranda repeated. She couldn't face the lawyer at the moment. "Butler, get Diego over right away."
"Madam Scott, Mr. Quell has left the manor," the lawyer replied. "If you don't agree to the divorce, then you won't receive anything from the Quell family. You don't have a house. You will be kicked out with nothing left, and you will even have to go to jail."
"You are threatening me!" Miranda shouted in astonishment.
"If you think that's a threat, then there's nothing we can do. We're just telling you the truth. Please be wise," Peter stated.
Miranda shook her head in denial as she uttered, "No, I don't agree to a divorce. You won't get away with it. Call Diego over. I need to see him here. Otherwise, I won't agree to divorce."
"Madam, this will only make things difficult," Peter reminded her again.
"Then so be it," Miranda sneered. "Don't try to scare me. I'm not afraid."
She turned around and slammed the door shut.
Peter looked at the closed door and seemed to have expected such a reaction from Miranda.
He turned to the butler and said, "Mr. Quell mentioned that if she closes the door, you can break in and tie her up."
Startled, the butler whispered cautiously, "Are you sure?"
Peter nodded.
The butler quickly replied, "Okay, I'll arrange for someone to come right now."
The next second, he shouted in another direction, "Guards!"
Two bodyguards ran in quickly.
The butler then ordered, "Get in and tie Madam Scott up."
"Yes!" Upon receiving the order, the bodyguards quickly broke into the room.
With a loud bang, the door was flung open.
Miranda, who had just sat down angrily, was caught off guard. She gawked at the two burly men in shock and exclaimed, "What are you doing?"
They ignored her and hurriedly stepped forward, catching both of her arms.
"You b*stard!" Miranda shouted in fury. "I am Diego's wife. How dare you treat me like this? You've gone too far!"
"Madam, you are no longer Diego's wife," Peter replied as both he and the butler walked in. He looked at her and continued, "Mr. Quell has ordered that if you don't sign the papers, the property will be gone." Miranda gritted her teeth as her eyes widened. She looked at the scene before her and tried to process her thoughts. If she did not sign the papers, she would lose the house Diego offered.
They would definitely not help Marry either.
She contemplated whether she should sign it.
Signing the papers really didn't matter anymore.
She couldn't sign it.
Miranda shook her head and snapped, "I won't sign it. Just do whatever you want, but I won't sign it."
"Madam Scott, have you thought it over?"
"I've thought it through," Miranda answered firmly. "You can tell Diego to sue me. I don't care. I won't sign the divorce papers no matter what."
