True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1554
Gary returned to the third floor and tidied up before he lay in bed, but he couldn't fall asleep no matter what. He decided to send Celeste a message on the phone. He asked, "Have you fallen asleep?" Celeste was planning her outfit for the next day's check- up. She had to wear clothes that were convenient for her check- up. After she had decided on the perfect outfit, she hung the clothes up.
All of a sudden, her phone vibrated. She lowered her gaze to glance at the phone and realised that it was a message from Gary. Celeste looked at it and hesitated for a moment before she eventually decided to pretend as if she was asleep and didn't reply.
She was afraid that Gary would come over in the middle of the night if she replied to his text.
However, Celeste hadn't expected Gary to come over in the middle of the night despite not responding.
After a while, he arrived at Celeste's room and entered straightaway.
It just so happened that Celeste didn't lock the door. As soon as Gary opened the door, Celeste saw his well- built figure standing at the door, seeming to be sneaking in.
She was stunned and immediately asked, "Why are you here? Go back to your room and sleep."
Gary hurriedly entered and locked the door. Lowering his voice, he said, "I'm worried when you sleep alone, so I'm here to check on you. It's slightly cold. Is the blanket thick enough?" Celeste was rendered speechless.
Gary gave an embarrassed smile because he went to Celeste's room not only to check up on her.
Gary wanted to stay there the whole night.
Soon, Gary sat down on one side of the bed. He glanced at Celeste, then at her phone. When Gary turned it on and realized Celeste had read the message, he asked, "Celeste, why didn't you reply to my text when you saw it?"
Celeste decided to be frank with Gary. "I was just afraid that you'd come here again, so I didn't reply. I didn't expect you to do it anyway."
Gary couldn't help chuckling. "Fortunately, I'm smart enough to suspect that you didn't answer on purpose. If I really thought you fell asleep, you could have fooled me."
With that, he gazed at Celeste with a grievance in his eyes.
Celeste didn't know whether to laugh or cry, so she let it slide.
Gary patted the spot beside him and said, "Come here, let's turn off the lights and have a good chat. We'll just talk, nothing else. This should be fine, right?"
Upon hearing that, Celeste blushed. What did he mean by just a talk and nothing else? That just made things weirder.
However, it was indeed getting colder at night.
Celeste walked to the other side of the bed, took off her slippers, and tugged herself in.
Gary immediately held her in his arms. The warm aura radiating from his body provided more warmth to Celeste.
The warmth warmed up her heart as well.
Gary reached his big hand over to grab Celeste's feet.
It was a little itchy, and Celeste instinctively flinched and was about to withdraw her feet.
"Don't move." Gary told her, "I'll warm them up for you. Your feet are too cold. Look at how warm my hands are. It's like a natural stove."
Celeste resisted the itch and remained still.
The warm hands wrapped around her feet provided a different sensation.
Since losing the baby, her limbs had become cold. She couldn't feel warm no matter how many warm packs she used. Sometimes, she could only recover from the cold after midnight. When Gary placed her feet on his stomach, Celeste was instantly stunned.
"Don't," she hurriedly shouted.
"That's it. I'll put them here to warm them up."
Gary's torso was like a furnace. They turned off the lights and leaned against each other. "Lie down. It's warm and comfortable for sleep."
Gary insisted on warming Celeste up, and she could not withdraw her legs. Therefore, she let him be.
Half an hour later, her feet felt warmer. Gary let go of her feet and hugged her. "Go to sleep. You must have been tired today, right?"
Celeste shook her head. "I'm not tired. I can feel the warmth of this trip home. I felt like I've gained a lot from my return this time."
Everyone was nice to her, including Ernest, Lowell, Aunt Smith, Uncle Jones, Sebastian and Sylvia.
Celeste felt exceptionally blissful.
Gary knew and understood that she longed for family love because she used to be lonely.
"Did you regret for not coming back with Ernest and I?" he asked.
Celeste paused for a moment before nodding. "I did. At first, I felt like I had no right to come back. As a result, Maria lectured me about it, and she was right. I was selfish because I only focused on my feelings, and neglected Aunt Smith and Uncle Jones' kindness for me. To put it bluntly, if it wasn't for everyone here, how would I have all this privilege? I didn't cherish it enough."
At that, Gary was slightly stunned. He then looked at her while frowning. Although he couldn't see Celeste's face clearly in the darkness, Gary could still feel her emotions. At that moment, she was quiet and well-behaved.
His displeased voice sounded. "Meaning that you came back all of a sudden because Maria lectured you about it?"
She replied, "Yes. If it wasn't for her lecturing, I would not have thought of so many things and get my head straight."
Gary huffed and questioned, "She dared lecture you?" Celeste chuckled and answered, "Come on, stop blaming Maria. In fact, I'm grateful that she woke me up. You should be grateful to have a cousin like her."
Gary was stunned. "In that case, can I ask you a question, Miss Celeste?"
Celeste nodded. "Yes, go on."
"Have the two of us made up? Are you not breaking up with me? Are you still my girlfriend?" Gary asked a few questions in one go.
Celeste froze in Gary's arms before she gave a wry laugh. "If we aren't a couple, would I be willing to see you in my bed, hold me and take advantage of me? Is there any girl in the world who's willing to do SO?"
Gary was stunned by her answer for a moment and laughed excitedly. "Celeste, do you mean that we've already made up? You've agreed to be my girlfriend, haven't you?"
In the dark, Celeste's cheeks warmed up as she felt somewhat embarrassed. She was determined to break up with him, but didn't expect they would reconcile again after a short time.
Celeste nodded. Afraid that Gary couldn't see her in the dark, she added, "Yes, didn't you say that you're going to win my heart over?"
"Of course I am. You're still my girlfriend, right?" His tone was full of excitement.
"Yes, I'm your girlfriend," she responded.
When Celeste gave Gary a definite answer, he immediately wrapped his arms around Celeste as his hands roamed around her body.
After a while, Celeste was panting and repeatedly tried to stop Gary from touching her.
"Stop it, Gary. I have a medical check- up tomorrow, so don't touch me. Plus, don't you remember what day today is? You can't touch me." Gary's hands froze. Tormented, he sighed. "You're right in front of me, yet I can't touch you. You're so cruel," he muttered in disappointment.
Celeste didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "If you think you can't sleep, go back to your room. Don't forget today is Grandpa's funeral. Also, I have to go to the hospital tomorrow for a check-up. Do you want to make things difficult for me?"
As expected, Celeste's question rendered Gary speechless.
"You're right. I'm too selfish." He hugged Celeste with his hands in all the proper places. "Go to sleep. We'll have plenty of time in the future."
"I'll go to sleep then." Celeste found a comfortable spot in his arms and fell asleep.
In fact, Celeste liked warm embraces. Compared to s*xual interaction, she preferred spiritual communication.
She fell asleep blissfully.
However, Gary felt uncomfortable all over. After he got up to the bathroom and took a shower, Gary felt slightly better. He went back to bed with Celeste in his arms. However, Celeste sensed the coldness on his body and shivered as she jolted and opened her eyes in an instant.
"Did you take a cold shower?" she asked.
Gary nodded. "I couldn't sleep, so I took a shower. Go to sleep, don't mind me."
Celeste looked at him with a hint of helplessness in her eyes and reached out for him.
Gary gasped, "Celeste, you!"
"Stop talking," Celeste whispered, "I'll ignore you if you do."
He chuckled. "My dear Celeste is the best."
