True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1529
Celeste nodded and said, "I'm done."
She had read it all seriously.
"How do you feel?" Gary looked at her and asked gently.
Celeste commented sincerely, "It's useful. Your analysis is practical. It's one of the best analyses and summaries I've ever read."
Gary's eyes lit up as the corner of his lips curled up into a slight smile. He was slightly pleased with himself, but there was also a hint of anticipation in his voice as he asked, "So does that mean it's better for me to teach you?"
"Yes," Celeste nodded honestly, "It's indeed a lot better."
"Here. I brought you another set of documents. Give it a good read," Gary said as he reached for his iPad to hand another file over to Celeste. Celeste was still holding the iPad, so when his hands reached over, he accidentally touched hers.
At that moment, the two of them jolted.
He was not in a hurry to withdraw his hands but to first steal a glance at her.
A trace of panic flashed past Celeste's eyes. She feared body contact.
Gary's palm was wide and warm. His slender fingers were firm as they held onto the iPad. Celeste was so frightened that she immediately withdrew her hand.
Her heart raced violently. The intense heartbeat pounded on her chest, leaving her in a chaotic state.
Gary looked at her with slight awkwardness. The stare in his gaze deepened.
However, he lowered his head quickly and continued to search for the other document as if nothing had ever happened.
"Here, this is the data I've compiled related to a particular topic. You should read through it," Gary told her.
"Alright," Celeste responded without looking at him.
Gary handed the iPad to her. He lowered his head to look at her and noticed that her ears had completely reddened. Even her face was slightly flushed red, and her neck had turned pink as well. She seemed shy.
Gary's gaze deepened before he chuckled and teased in a joking tone, "Why is your face so red?"
Upon hearing that, Celeste took a deep breath of cold air. She raised her head and looked at Gary in awkwardness.
She saw him looking at herself with a faint smile on his face.
Her face turned even redder. She felt so flustered that she wanted to hide in a hole on the ground.
Gary looked at her and could clearly notice the faint but beautiful blush on her fair and delicate face. Her eyes were big and round, evident with embarrassment.
He should not go overboard, so Gary immediately changed the topic, "What's wrong? Is the weather too hot?"
"Yes, it's hot," Celeste answered in a slightly rude tone.
She lowered her head once more, intended to continue reading and to ignore him.
How adorable!
Gary grinned as he stared at Celeste's gorgeous, clean, and delicate face.
Celeste ignored him. She continued to read Gary's report with her head lowered.
She remained quiet. As time passed by, Gary admired how beautiful she was.
Even with short hair, Celeste was still striking.
That was a completely different type of beauty.
As he looked at her, his gaze darkened, and he took a deep breath with Celeste's faint body fragrance drifting into his nostrils.
It was all so admirable. As long as he smelled her fragrance, his senses would boil and fall out of control.
Gary had a feeling that it was torture for him not to be able to have an intimate relationship with Celeste as long as he was with her.
No!
Rather, he should consider it a form of cultivation.
How was he supposed to suppress his thumping heart from going out of control every time he saw Celeste?
His emotions and rationality were fighting for control, but in the end, his rationality still overcame his emotions.
It was not the right time.
Although many thoughts whizzed in his mind, he could only endure them.
Right then, just the fact that he could see Celeste by his side was a blessing for him.
Just like that, Celeste read the document while Gary stared at her. Time passed slowly.
Gary noticed that Celeste was getting more and more tense. She seemed to have maintained the same posture for quite some time.
He glanced at Celeste in surprise then at his watch. An hour had passed.
Celeste had been sitting there for a long time. Her body was so stiff that it seemed as if she had forgotten how to move. Gary was dumbstruck, and a thought flashed in his mind.
He noticed that Celeste was blushing again.
However, he did not realize that during the past hour, his gaze had never left Celeste, so she felt uncomfortable from all his staring.
Celeste could only try her hardest to read the documents to avoid getting distracted.
Noticing how rigid she seemed, Gary reminded, "Celeste, you should get up and move around for a while. You've been sitting motionlessly for some time. I'm sure your legs have gotten numb, haven't they?" When he reminded her of that, Celeste was stunned as well.
When she came back to her senses, she realized that her entire body had tensed up.
Her legs were really numb, for she had her entire body tensed for so long without moving at all. Besides, his notes were really well-done. The things he had done were things she wanted to do but couldn't because of how tough they were.
Right then, as he reminded her, she felt even more awkward as her face froze.
When Gary saw her behaving in such a manner, he lifted his eyebrows and asked, "Have your legs indeed gone numb?"
Celeste nodded in embarrassment.
Gary could not help bursting out laughing, "You're like a child. Don't you know how to take care of yourself? Get up and move a bit. If you continue to sit still without moving, your blood won't circulate." Did that silly girl dared not to move at all because he was by her side?
Celeste tried to get up. The moment she moved, her legs felt thoroughly numb. She stood up in a hurry and lost her balance, tilting to one side.
Gary was quick to react as he reached out to hold her, shouting in a low voice, "Be careful."
She reached out for the table, but Gary pulled her into his arms, and she landed onto his lap.
Celeste was furious and anxious, but her legs were numb, and she could not move at all. She could only lean on him as their heads crashed into each other.
The two of them were both stunned.
"Uh..." Gary's breathing got heavier. He lowered his head and looked at the girl in his embrace. In that instant, he found it impossible to control himself.
For at that moment, he could feel his blood boiling.
Celeste was in an awkward position.
It felt as if she had taken the initiative to throw herself into his embrace. They had clearly promised each other that they would remain friends and not be in a relationship. However, she was still throwing herself into his arms. She blushed in embarrassment.
However, her legs were too numb to feel anything. She could not even move at all, for every movement of hers would have her legs feel itchy.
All she could do was slowly gravitate towards Gary, saying in a low voice, "I'm sorry, I can't move at all."
"If that's so, don't move," Gary's tone was deep and hoarse.
Celeste's heart pounded wildly. As she was nervous and embarrassed, she realized that she had accidentally touched a part of him where she absolutely shouldn't have. There was a moment where she felt as if her mind had blown up.
Gary was stunned as well.
He was hugging Celeste, and she was sitting on his lap. However, he knew that it was inappropriate.
In order to hide his embarrassment, he cleared his throat, bent over and reached out to help massage her calf, "Is it numb over here?"
"Yes." Celeste felt both annoyed and embarrassed.
She thought that there was absolutely no need for him to hook his arms around her waist just then, but he still did it.
In the end, when the two of them got into contact, that happened.
She was not the same little girl who did not understand how the world worked anymore. Right then, she was a woman who had long understood the thoughts of men. Fortunately, he shifted his focus and started to massage her calf.
His palm was huge, while his fingers were boney and powerful. The moment he massaged her numb legs, Celeste gasped.
Gary immediately asked, "It's this spot, right?"
"Well, yes. Don't massage it." It was getting itchier and itchier.
She shook her head. The moment she did, their lips accidentally met.
Gary's gaze darkened. All of a sudden, a kiss she could not resist fell on her lips, overbearing as he plundered her mouth.
Celeste was dumbfounded.
She forgot how to react.
His tongue had already made its way in and danced with hers.
No! No!
It shouldn't have ended up that way. How could that be?
Her thighs felt really uncomfortable, and she was actually sitting on his legs. They were kissing as well. They were supposed to be just friends.
He did not keep his promise. Her eyes turned teary and moist from anger and embarrassment.
Gary kissed her for a long time before he let go of her. He pressed his head against her forehead. When he noticed the gaze in her eyes, he was stunned. He then apologized in a low voice, "Sorry, Celeste. I didn't do it on purpose. I could not control myself."
