True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1400
Celeste paused for a while and replied with a flat tone, "I don't need anything else. I just want to rest, so please bring me back to the hotel."
Gary felt really helpless. He drove her back to the hotel and parked the car. He did not rush to get out of the car as he wanted to chat with Celeste and try to ease the tension between the two of them.
To be honest, after hurting Celeste, he blamed himself for his rough actions. For a moment, he did not know what to say.
Celeste noticed that he wanted to stay in the car, but she did not have the patience to stay in the car with him anymore.
After a few minutes, she tried to get out of the car.
Gary immediately locked the car doors.
Celeste couldn't open the door, so she could only turn and glare at him.
He stared at her, his eyes filled with mixed feelings. He wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in his throat.
"Open the door," Celeste demanded.
"Celeste, I..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Celeste interrupted, "Let me out of the car."
"I'll carry you upstairs. Don't worry," Gary explained in a rush, "You're not feeling well. I don't have any other intentions. Let me take care of you."
"There's no need to," Her attitude was distant and cold.
"Please listen to me," Gary was trying to hold back his anger, "Let me take you upstairs, I'm worried about you."
"I'll be fine," Celeste still refused, "I still have some matters to attend to, so I'll go up by myself. Please send the sanitary pads to Miss Simpson's room. I'll go back to my room by myself." "Please don't," Gary shook his head and offered, "You can stay in my room. You shouldn't go back to your room, it will be inconvenient for you to treat your wounds since your roommate is there." This time, he was trying to be considerate. Knowing that Celeste was a strong girl with pride, she definitely would not want others to know what she had gone through.
It would certainly be inconvenient for two girls to share the same room if that was the case.
However, from Celeste's point of view, it sounded extremely embarrassing.
She pursed her lips and argued, "There's no need to. My roommate will respect my privacy,"
"Can you please listen just for once? Please, just for tonight," Gary pleaded. He was begging her to change her mind, "Celeste, your roommate might not ask about your private matters, but she will definitely sense that something happened to you."
Celeste hesitated for a moment, but she was still being stubborn and insisted on getting out of the car herself.
Gary frowned when he saw how persistent she was. A conflicted gaze flashed before his eyes. Eventually, he unlocked the car doors, but he managed to get out of the car first and carried Celeste in his arms.
"Put me down."
Celeste's body was lifted up into the air. She struggled immediately, trying to get away from his touch.
"Don't move," Gary grunted immediately, "I'll take care of you tonight. If you try to struggle again, I'll call my mom and make her persuade you."
Celeste was frightened by his actions. Her eyes were filled with shock as she glared at Gary.
"You are shameless," Celeste did not want to cause Aunt Grace any unnecessary trouble.
Aunt Grace was so gentle and caring and had always treated Celeste very well. Consequently, Celeste would always listen to Grace since she didn't want her to be worried.
If Aunt Grace were to find out about her relationship with Gary, she would definitely make Gary take responsibility.
He did not love her. It would be meaningless even if he wanted to bear the responsibility.
She did not want to be in such a pathetic love.
Celeste did not have a chance to choose her parents and the way she lived her life. She did not want to lose the chance to choose who she wanted to love and her future husband.
She did not want her children to be like her.
Thus, she wanted to make her own choices about love and marriage. She did not want to cause any trouble for Aunt Grace, and she did not want Gary to bear the burden of responsibility. "Yes, I admit that I'm being shameless," Gary admitted frankly, "But please let me take care of you. At least until you recover."
Celeste frowned as she saw a trace of gentleness appearing in Gary's eyes. She could see that his eyes were filled with pain, regret and fear.
She felt her heart tighten in her chest.
Were those really Gary's eyes?
Was she mistaken?
She couldn't believe that she actually detected some fear in Gary's eyes. How was it possible?
He had never been afraid before.
Celeste was stunned for a moment. She then widened her eyes and stared at him. She felt like she saw a deep sense of affection lying beneath his gaze. She felt a little panicky and looked away immediately. There was an unspeakable feeling rising in her chest.
She could sense his love and affection, but it wasn't exclusive.
Celeste did not want to stay at his room, but she did not want Aunt Grace to know about this. Finally, she gave in.
Gary took a deep breath as he noticed that Celeste had stopped speaking.
"That's a good girl," He knew that his mother was her soft spot. Celeste did not like to owe anyone anything, and Grace was especially dear to her. She really stopped struggling.
Gary carried her upstairs and went to his room. After opening the door, he placed Celeste on the
bed.
He said, "Lie down and get some rest first. I'll go get something."
Celeste did not say anything as she was planning to leave after he left.
Gary had a rough idea of what she was thinking, so he did not leave in a hurry. Instead, he reached out his hand to take off her clothes.
Just as he started unbuttoning the first button of her shirt, Celeste was so frightened that she started to struggle, "Gary, what are you doing?"
"Taking off your clothes," Gary looked at her seriously. She could see from his face that he was not joking as he explained, "I'm doing this to prevent you from sneaking out of the room. I've no choice but to hide your clothes so that you can't leave this place."
Celeste frowned, and her face flushed red as she felt angry.
How could this person be so shameless? He was really annoying.
Gary noticed that she did not speak, but she was glaring at him with fury in her eyes. He did not speak either and proceeded to undress her with his long and slender fingers.
Celeste turned her face away as she did not want to look at him.
She felt sad whenever she looked at him.
Gary took her clothes away and locked them in a safe.
Although he had taken off her clothes, he did not try to do anything frivolous. He just said to Celeste, "I'll be right back. Wait for me."
Celeste continued to ignore him.
Gary gazed deeply at her before turning to leave. After he left, Celeste stared blankly at the ceiling.
She knew that if she went back to her room right now, Ava would be worried. Hence, she could not go back.
For the sake of her health, she could only stay here and take care of herself first. When her body got better, she would leave this place for sure.
Celeste hoped that everything would get better tomorrow.
She wanted to take a bath. Her body felt quite uncomfortable, and she thought that a hot and relaxing bath might help.
With that, Celeste got up from the bed and went to the bathroom. As warm water started flowing from the tap, she felt that the sore wounds on her body felt much better already.
In the meantime, Gary returned to his car and took the other bag out. He found a worker from the hotel and passed the bag to her, asking her to bring it to Janice.
He did not go there personally and went back to his room immediately.
After returning, he closed the door and walked in. He did not see Celeste and felt very worried.
After a while, he heard the sound of running water coming from the bathroom and heaved a sigh of relief.
Celeste did not leave.
Gary picked up his phone and gave a call to the hotel staff, ordering them to bring him some female innerwear.
Celeste might need them.
Ten minutes later, the exquisite and boxed innerwear was delivered to his room. Gary grabbed them along with some new clothes and a packet of sanitary pads and walked to the bathroom door.
The sound of knocking could be heard.
His knuckles rapped on the bathroom door.
Celeste's body stiffened and she asked immediately nervously, "Who's there?"
"It's me," Gary replied, "Don't be afraid,"
Celeste cursed at him in her mind. He was the one she was afraid of.
"What's the matter?" "I brought you some clothes to change and some sanitary pads," He twisted the doorknob a little.
Celeste was shocked and said in a hurry, "Don't come in."
There was a small gap in the door. Gary's long arm reached in, holding two boxes in his hand.
"I won't come in," He said, "Hurry and wash up. Don't stay inside for too long, or you'll catch a cold,"
Celeste took the boxes from his hands. She was very afraid that he would go back on his words and barge into the bathroom.
Consequently, she touched his fingers by accident because she was too nervous.
Her body trembled and stiffened at the contact.
She immediately closed the door and locked it behind her.
Hearing the sound of the door locking, Gary's body stiffened at the door. He raised his eyes and a bitter smile spread from the corner of his lips.
It seemed like Celeste thought of him as a monster now.
The tolerance she had for him now was probably due to the respect she had for his mother.
Other than that, there was probably no trace of any feelings towards him.
Celeste finished washing up quickly. After changing her clothes, she wrapped herself in a white towel. She then opened the door and walked out.
Gary was standing right at the door. Once she opened the door, both of their eyes met. He looked at her with a complicated expression.
She turned to look away and wanted to walk past him.
Gary lowered his head and saw that she was walking on the floor with bare feet. His eyebrows immediately scrunched up. After that, he bent down and carried Celeste in his arms. Celeste was once again lifted into the air easily. She felt very annoyed, but she did not say anything.
Gary pursed his lips expressionlessly6. He held her in his arms and walked towards the bed.
She saw that his facial features were angular and sharp, while the entire outline of his face was still so unforgettable and mesmerizing.
Thankfully, Gary did not look at her. He just held Celeste, placed her on the bed, and then covered her with a blanket.
"I'll go and wash up now," He said.
