True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1397
Gary's car had been wandering on the streets aimlessly.
He knew deep down in his heart that he wanted to know where Celeste went and whether she was together with her senior. Finally, he truly understood that he was too full of himself. He always thought that she was completely under his control.
Looking back, Gary suddenly realised that he did not know her very well at all.
Be it her classmates, her teachers or her seniors, he knew absolutely nothing about them.
Now that their relationship had ended, Celeste could still bring herself to put a smile on her face and meet a senior called Flynt. Meanwhile, he was wandering on the streets like a fool, hoping to get a glimpse of her and wondering who she was meeting.
He was really going to go crazy.
His heart was in rags.
Someone had torn it into pieces.
He drove for a long time but did not see anyone.
Finally, the car turned and entered a parking lot. He parked his car and walked out, only to find out that he was in front of a Michelin-star restaurant.
Laughing at himself, Gary remembered that he had once thought about bringing Celeste out for a date to enjoy delicious food in a Michelin-star French restaurant.
However, after coming to England, he actually spent most of his time with her on the bed of the villa he just bought.
Other than that, they seldom spent time doing outdoor activities together. Only he himself knew how many condoms he'd used.
To make sure they practiced safe s*x, he had been taking protective measures all this while, up to the point where his legs felt weak whenever he was with Celeste.
Recalling the days they spent together, they did not seem to have any common memories together.
The memories of where they had visited and the scenery they shared together were non-existent.
The only memories of being together were the constant quarrels and the stubbornness of each other trying to hold on to their own beliefs. Other than that were the endless video calls and time spent doing it on the bed.
As soon as Gary thought about it, he felt a warm current passing through his mind.
It was true that he could not control himself because Celeste could easily ignite the hidden desire in him. He would be impulsive every time he saw her.
He thought that Celeste would feel the same. Since they were together, both of them should have liked it equally.
However, when she was speaking to Janice in the hotel, it felt like she was accusing him for being a jerk. Every one of her sentences spoken had hidden insults and complaints about him.
Gary laughed at himself again. It seemed like she was very unhappy with him.
Perhaps it was not because she was dissatisfied, but it was because she did not love him enough. Therefore, after their relationship ended, she was able to start dating other guys immediately. She wanted to tell him to his face that many people were chasing after her.
Thinking of this, Gary felt a surge of frustration building up in his heart.
He soon grew more and more angry. He clenched his fists, and his eyes were burning with hot flames. However, his heart was empty.
As he casually turned around, something flashed in front of his eyes. He immediately stopped walking and looked at a figure through the glass window of a restaurant. His eyes were fixed completely on the girl's face.
It was her.
It was Celeste.
She was smiling. It was a very gentle smile, with her long hair resting on her shoulders. Every single movement she made was peaceful and graceful. She was talking to a man in front of her.
The man in front of her obviously looked much more mature. He did not have a boyish look on his face, and he was quite good-looking. Although his features were not as perfect as Gary's, he had this comforting, mature and gentle charm radiating from him.
To be honest, he was a very handsome man, and he was also laughing happily with her.
The two of them seemed to be enjoying the conversation together, and the smile on their faces was an eyesore to Gary.
Gary's heart was about to stop beating. A huge amount of shock was surging through his heart, and he could not accept what was happening before his eyes.
He suddenly regretted his actions. He should not have ended things with Celeste.
He thought that ending the relationship would give each other some time to cool down.
He even wanted to make her jealous. If that happened, she would regret the breakup.
Alas, now it seemed like he was just being very ridiculous. She was living a good life, while he looked like a fool, feeling sad all alone.
She didn't care about him at all, as she could spend time chatting and laughing with other men so pleasantly.
It seemed that without him, she would live a better life.
If he was with her, her life wouldn't be as happy.
Gary stood outside and gazed at her from a distance. Through the glass, he felt that Celeste's smile was getting more and more painful to look at.
Meanwhile, inside the restaurant.
Celeste and Flynt were chatting happily.
"Celeste, you're doing very well. There's no harm in studying more," Flynt said with a smile, "You're still really young and you're only twenty years old. Normally, kids your age would only be in their second or third year of university. I remember you said that you skipped a few grades before?"
"That's right," Celeste nodded, "I've skipped two grades." "I see," Flynt nodded.
"By the way, Flynt, your call sounded pretty urgent. Is there something wrong?" Celeste felt that Flynt wouldn't have sounded so anxious on the call if there was nothing urgent that came up.
"Yes, I came to ask you for help," Flynt looked at Celeste and said, "Have a bite first, let's talk as we eat."
"Okay," Celeste continued to eat, "Flynt, if you need a helping hand, do tell me. As long as I can help you, I will do my best."
"There are some materials that need to be translated. I can't finish them alone. I'm in a hurry and I don't trust other people, so I really need your help," Flynt trusted Celeste. He knew that Celeste was not a nosy person. She never meddled in other people's business in school. Most of the time, she would be studying since she was a really hard-working person.
She would never gossip about other people. It was as if she was born without a single conspiratorial bone in her body.
"Okay, I can do that," Celeste smiled, "Tell me the requirements, and I will do it according to that."
"Celeste, I need it quite urgently, You may have to work overtime to complete it. But of course, our company pays well for the translated work, and I promise I will give you the amount that you deserve." "There's no need to, Flynt," Celeste immediately shook her head, "I want to do you a favour, and it's not because I want the money. Thus, you don't have to pay me."
"But Celeste, if you don't want the money, I won't be able to ask for your help," Flynt said, "Moreover, the wages are provided by the company."
"Well, then you can give it to me whenever you want to. After I finish, you can give me the wages based on the quality of work I have completed. I really don't mind how much money you pay me," Celeste replied, "To me, this is just a piece of cake."
"Wow, you accepted my request really quickly," Flynt grinned, "I'll pay you according to company policy, don't you worry,."
"Okay, I'll give you my email address," While speaking, Celeste took out her phone and sent a message to Flynt.
Flynt also took out his phone. He received the message and told Celeste, "Okay, I've received your message. I'll send the materials and requirements to you in a short while. When you are done translating the documents, send it back to me. I'll transfer the payment to your bank account, so send your account number to me later."
"Alright."
The two of them sent messages to each other while eating. Gary, who was watching them from outside, had all sorts of feelings in his heart.
He had been standing outside all this while, watching the both of them enjoy their dinner.
An hour and a half passed by. The two of them actually stayed inside for an hour and a half.
The amount of time they spent together eating this meal was unusually long.
They had been chatting and laughing the whole time.
His whole face was gloomy and depressed as he watched them. Gary felt his heart sinking to rock bottom.
"Let's go, Celeste. I'll take you home," Flynt said as he paid the bill and left the restaurant with Celeste. He asked, "How long will you be here?"
"I will be here for around a week," Celeste explained, "Flynt, I can go home by myself."
"When you came here, you didn't ask me to pick you up. If I don't send you home, wouldn't people joke around and say that I'm not from England?" Flynt chuckled, "We are famous for being gentlemen, after all."
Celeste was also amused by his words and laughed, "Yes, you're a little bit too much of a gentleman. Well, sorry to trouble you then, Flynt." Celeste got in Flynt's car and went back to the hotel.
Silently, Gary followed them from behind, and he did so unconsciously.
On the way back, when they were about to arrive at the hotel, Gary quickened his pace. He reached the hotel before Celeste did.
After saying goodbye to Flynt, Celeste went upstairs alone. When she passed by Gary's room, his door suddenly opened. Gary appeared at the doorstep with a cold face.
Celeste was stunned for a moment. When her eyes met his dark and menacing face, her heart skipped a beat.
She did not want to talk to him, so she turned around and left.
However, Gary grabbed her by the wrist.
Warmth spread from his fingertips to her wrist. She could feel his grip tightening, and she couldn't help but frown. She turned to look at Gary and took a deep breath before declaring, "Let go of me!"
