True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1393
The emotions in Celeste's heart started to surge. Looking at Gary's cold and stern expression, she pursed her lips.
Ava noticed that something was going on and told Celeste, "I can leave."
Celeste shook her head immediately, "Ava, don't go. I'll leave."
After saying that, Celeste went out.
Gary took a step back.
Celeste closed the door and turned to look at Gary. Before she could even stand properly, Gary grabbed her by the wrist.
"Let go of me," Celeste's reaction was very strong. She wanted to shake off Gary's hand.
However, whatever she said did not stop his actions at all.
He held onto Celeste and dragged her along until they reached the left side of the corridor. They arrived at a door, and he opened it.
Then, Gary forcefully pulled her inside the room.
"What are you doing?" Before she could finish shouting, Gary wrapped her in a hug and kicked the door closed. He pressed her against the wall and glared at her fiercely. Celeste took a deep breath as she felt the wall behind, a hint of anger flashing in her eyes.
"You called me your brother," Gary wrapped his hand tightly around Celeste's waist while tracing his other hand gently across her face. His voice was filled with a mocking tone.
Celeste pursed her lips and still refused to admit defeat. She said stubbornly, "That's right. You're my brother, so shouldn't you let me go now?"
"Celeste White," Gary grew impatient and began to shout at her, "Do you really want to make me mad?"
"You're mad?" Celeste sneered, "Why are you mad? What does your anger have to do with me? Take your girlfriend and get out of my sight. Don't ever show up in front of me, it's disgusting to watch the two of you together. Do you understand?"
She tried to hold back her anger as she did not want to shout at him. However, she just couldn't stand his behavior. She had a dark look on her face and her facial expression was worse than ever. "What do you mean by girlfriend?" Gary was trying to hide the expression on his face, but his angry voice shook the room violently, "You are my f*cking girlfriend. What are you talking about?" "Me?" Celeste scoffed, "I think I'm probably the only person in the entire world who thinks that I'm your girlfriend."
The butler had told her that Gary's girlfriend was Janice. Just now in the parking lot, both Gary and Janice did not deny it either. Everything was admitted silently, so what was there left for her to say? Celeste felt that whatever she said would only bring more shame to herself.
Gary was angered by her question, "Take a look at yourself now, why are you being like this?"
He was also boiling in anger. Even up to this point, Celeste still wouldn't believe him. Her suspicion felt like an insult to him.
His heart was filled with disappointment and it had reached its peak.
"What's wrong with me?" Celeste questioned him back, "I came to Edinburgh to join my school's activities, and I was having a great time with my friends. I didn't bother you, but you brought your girlfriend to Edinburgh and appeared in front of me. Now, you're asking me why I'm behaving like this?"
"Gary, can't you be a little bit more reasonable? You brought Janice along and introduced her to me, so just try to think what position I would be in?"
"It's already really hard for me to keep calm in the first place, so what else do you want me to do?"
"She's not my girlfriend," Gary started yelling at the top of his lungs, "How many times do I have to say it to make you understand?"
"Haha, no matter how many times you say it, I still wouldn't understand. If you truly mean it, why didn't you deny it just now? Why did Janice just quietly go along with it too?" Celeste sniggered, her eyes filled with loneliness, "Even the butler thinks that she is your girlfriend. Maybe in your heart, she is more important than me. It's just that you failed to realize it."
"Don't insult me," Flames of anger were flickering in Gary's eyes.
"I insulted you?" Celeste laughed bitterly, "Am I the one insulting you, or are you the one insulting me? Since she means so much to you, I stepped aside. I wanted to look for some peace and quiet, and give you freedom. You can't maintain two relationships at the same time. That would be an insult to me."
Celeste blinked furiously and forced herself to hold back her tears. She looked Gary right in the eyes as flames seemingly spurted from his gaze.
The two of them looked at each other in silence.
"Can I go back now?" Celeste broke the silence. She looked away and didn't want to face Gary anymore.
She felt extremely upset. Throughout this relationship, she could never understand his thoughts. From her point of view, Janice was a really important and special person to him.
She was so special that she could affect Gary's decision-making. She could make him care and worry about her. This was the main problem.
Even if there was nothing between them, his attitude towards Janice still seemed very hurtful to Celeste.
She cared a little too much, and she was jealous and devastated.
Celeste did not want to turn into a jealous and petty woman, so she decided to leave voluntarily.
It was only when she left that she could allow everything to be settled peaceful. Only then would her rapidly beating heart finally die down.
Even if her hopes were crushed, she wanted to leave with whatever dignity she had left. She did not want to look like she was frail.
"Janice isn't my girlfriend, you are. How many times do I have to say it to make you satisfied?" Gary reached out to grab her shoulders as he didn't want her to leave.
Such intimate actions made Celeste felt like she was being humiliated.
She shifted her gaze from the wall to Gary's face, only to find that his eyes were filled with rage.
She did not understand why he was so angry.
"Are you angry because I would hurt your pride if I mentioned breaking up?" She questioned him. Perhaps, that was the truth in her eyes.
Maybe that was Gary's true intention. He was so arrogant that he did not want to be dumped by anybody.
"Celeste, why are you saying this?" Gary felt like Celeste had just stabbed him in the heart. He shot back, "Every sentence you say feels like a knife piercing through my heart. Is this really what you think of me?"
"Yes," Celeste nodded with a very serious expression. Her face was pale but stubborn. She tried her best to maintain her composure to make herself look normal and sensible as she commented, "If you are hurt by my words, you can say that you want to break up. We'll just end things here."
"You are being really unreasonable," Gary rebutted angrily.
Celeste felt a tightness in her chest as pain swept over her.
She breathed lightly. If she used too much strength, she would feel pain and dizziness surrounding her.
She did not want to be so hurt and faint in front of him.
Celeste raised her chin stubbornly and stared straight at Gary. His handsome face was also contorted, and his facial features were shrouded in a dangerous and ruthless aura.
She could see and feel the look of contempt in his eyes. Gary couldn't understand why she was angry, and he couldn't figure out what she cared about the most.
He did not know her well at all.
Celeste's beating heart started to calm down. The tension between her eyebrows eased too. Instead of anger, she felt nothing.
"That's right," Celeste said softly, "I'm being very unreasonable. I'm not that generous, so please let me go and set yourself free. Don't worry, I will never tell my sister-in-law anything about our past. Let's just be siblings forever. You'll always be my brother, and I'll always be your sister. From now on, we'll walk our own paths and part ways." "Celeste, are you done messing around now?" The coldness on Gary's expression had reached its limit. He did not want to give in to her anymore. He started to roar at her out of sheer fury.
"I'm not messing around. I'm being serious," Her gaze was clear as she stared right into Gary's dark ones. She wasn't trying to brush him off anymore, and there was only a weary look in her eyes. Her expression showed that she no longer had interest in everything. There was also a sense of determination to end things, as she was already heavily drained of all energy to deal with him. Gary could only scoff softly. His voice was exceptionally cold as he looked down at Celeste. With his tall body crouching over her, she noticed the rage burning in his eyes.
"My attitude is already very clear. Please respect my choice, and I'll respect yours too," She placed her hands against his chest, trying to push him away. She wanted to leave. Looking at her decisive attitude and tired eyes, he suddenly realized that he had made a mistake in coming to Edinburgh.
If he continued pressuring her, she would only feel more repulsed.
Her calm expression showed how heartless she was. Perhaps, she didn't love him as much as he thought.
The anger in his eyes cooled off little by little, and finally, it dissipated into nothingness.
Gary still did not move his gaze away from Celeste's face. He just stared at her without looking away.
"Alright, my dear younger sister," His thin lips parted slightly as a cold smile formed at the corners of his lips, "Since that's the case, I'll respect your choice. Let's break up."
