True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1331
"Gosh, I hate myself. I was so blind."
On the way back, Celeste did not cry. Maria, on the other hand, was crying so hard that her tears kept flowing. She could not stop it.
Celeste was worried when she looked at her. She could only silently use a tissue to wipe away Maria's tears.
"I'm so stupid. I deserve this. How could I like such a person? He couldn't even differentiate what is right and what is wrong."
Maria said in a low voice while crying.
The driver, who was driving in the front, felt very surprised.
Ernest also sat in the front. He turned around and glanced at Maria who was crying, but felt helpless.
"What are you crying for? What's there to cry about?" Ernest couldn't help but scold Maria, "Why are you so upset over some d*mn idol? I didn't see you crying this badly when my aunt and Aunt Nerissa went back." "How could it be the same?" Maria could not help
retorting.
"How is it different?" Ernest frowned, "I think you have a one-track mind."
"When my mom and grandma went back, it wasn't like we couldn't see each other again. There wasn't any need for me to cry," Maria sniffled. She sobbed and shouted, "Now, my idol is dead."
"Dead?" Ernest was shocked. He looked at Celeste and asked in astonishment, "Liam is dead?"
Celeste was also startled and immediately shook her head.
This time, she understood what Maria meant. She was referring to the fact that Liam was dead in Maria's eyes.
It wasn't that he was literally dead.
Ernest heaved a sigh of relief and instantly understood what Maria was trying to say, "You've met Liam?"
"Can you stop talking about him?" Celeste's face immediately darkened. When she thought of Liam, she was also irritated.
Ernest was a little puzzled. What the hell was going on?
"My idol is dead. He can't differentiate between right and wrong, and I thought he was infallible once. However, his life is a mess. I can't believe I idolized him. I was really blind and I really regret it now," Maria was really sad and poured all of her feelings out.
Probably no one in the world would know why she felt so aggrieved.
Even a diehard fangirl wouldn't understand.
Now, she hated her own stupidity and stubbornness. She hated herself for being infatuated with someone.
The person she liked was actually like this.
Maria was very sad.
"If you regret it, then you can just choose not to like him," Ernest said, "But I don't think that Liam is that bad. Did you misunderstand something?"
"Shut up," Maria yelled, "If you try to help that guy again, I'll throw you out."
Ernest pursed his lips. He shot a shocked glance at Maria before turning to look at Celeste.
Meanwhile, Celeste was silent.
Ernest was startled and said, "It seems that Liam has completely offended you. You look so scary, and it's the first time I've seen you being so frightening."
"Shut up, don't ever mention that name again," Maria was really heartbroken, so she didn't even want to hear Liam's name again.
By the time she got home, Maria's eyes were swollen.
The butler was shocked when he saw that her eyes were red. He quickly asked with concern, "What happened? Why did Miss Maria cry?"
"It's okay," Ernest tried to defuse the situation. He put his arm around the butler's shoulder and whispered, "She is just sulky-ing. You can prepare some delicious food. I think Maria may eat a lot tonight." Sure enough, that night, Maria began to gorge on the food and drinks.
She ate three chicken drumsticks in one sitting. When she gnawed at the drumsticks, it felt like she had a grudge against chickens.
She was gnawing on meat completely out of anger.
Both Celeste and Ernest were looking at her. They were very worried.
Maria stopped crying, but she didn't speak. She gobbled up everything as if the food was her enemy.
Celeste understood her feelings. After all, Liam was Maria's idol whom she had liked for a long time. However, the fact that she suddenly gave up on him was definitely because of Celeste. Hence, Celeste felt very sorry.
Several times, Celeste was about to speak but stopped on second thought.
Maria was still eating. After finishing the three drumsticks, she wolfed down another bowl of rice.
"Maria, don't eat anymore," Celeste was really worried. If she kept eating like this, Maria would feel too bloated and possibly even affect her digestion. She tried to reason with Maria, "If you eat too much, you might have a stomachache."
Maria paused, a trace of pain flashing across her eyes. Her voice was hoarse and bitter, "I am in a bad mood, and I want to cry now."
"Is it worth it to waste your tears for an idol you don't like anymore?" Celeste asked softly.
Maria was stunned.
Was it worth it?
That was true. It was not worth it crying over an idol who couldn't tell right from wrong.
"But I just can't help it."
Celeste did not rush to persuade her. She just sighed, "Maybe he is not that bad, but he didn't want to believe in what my aunt had done and could only doubt me. However, you gave up on your idol because o me. I'm so sorry for this." "It has nothing to do with you," Maria shook her head, "My idol should not be like this. I think he is perfect, but it doesn't matter if he is not. However, this is too much, so I can't accept
it."
Celeste still blamed herself in the end.
Ernest took a look at the two of them, and his gaze fell on Maria. He said thoughtfully, "I've told you not to chase your idol blindly."
"Isn't Liam your friend?" Maria immediately retorted annoyingly.
"That's why," Ernest explained, "Study hard. There are a lot more things in life that are more meaningful."
"I know," Although Maria was upset, she still nodded. Indeed, there were a lot of interesting things in life. She didn't necessarily have to chase her idol like this.
"Time to choose a major. Do you have any plans for which universities you're going to?" Ernest raised a question, using it as an excuse to change the topic.
Celeste paused for a moment before saying, "I'm going to Oxford. I'll take a look at the results of the interview before choosing the campus I'm going to. I will probably major in English and literature while minoring in economics."
"You're going to study economics?" Maria and Ernest were both surprised.
Celeste nodded confidently, "I decided to choose what I like and what I may like in the future."
Although she didn't say much, Maria and Ernest were both very clear that the minor that she chose was because of Gary.
She'd already thought about it, and it was clear that she had included Gary in her future plans.
"I support you," Maria said, "Well, I chose the University of London."
"You're not going to Cambridge?"
Everyone knew that Liam was studying at the University of London.
Yet, Maria still chose to go there, which made them very surprised.
Maria explained seriously, "The reason I chose the University of London is not because of Liam. My choice now has nothing to do with him. It's only because that university is suitable for me. I will study well there in the future."
"I'm going to Cambridge," Ernest replied with a smile.
The three of them looked at each other and smiled, feeling a little sentimental.
In the end, they were all going to three different universities.
But every weekend, they would take the train or subway back to their residence in London and meet. That way, they lived a very fulfilling and happy life.
In the blink of an eye, four years had passed.
