True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1320
Cindy forced a wry smile and looked back at Grace. When she looked into Grace's eyes, there was a flash of self-mockery in her eyes as she smirked, "Fine, people strive for greater heights after all. Celeste is also someone who will go to means just to get what she wants. To be able to wiggle her way into a rich family like yours is the fruit of her efforts."
"She's not trying to wiggle her way into my house," Grace couldn't stand Cindy's sarcasm, "She has no other way out. In fact, she just feels unsafe and uncertain living with you."
Cindy narrowed her eyes. She looked at Grace with a gloomy face, but regained her composure shortly. Sometime later, she pursed her lips and told her, "It's up to you. I admit defeat. I'm the ultimate loser. Grace, you are really someone who has tricks up your sleeve."
Grace sighed and didn't say anything.
A person's success depended on their personality. Cindy was just too stubborn and unforgiving. Only time would be able to smoother, her rough personality.
"I really don't understand why Heinz would fall in love with you," Cindy glanced at her, puzzled, "Grace Smith, there's really nothing unique about you. I'm not convinced that I am any worse than you. Apart from the tricks up your sleeve, there's nothing about you that's better than me. However, I am still the one who lost in this game of love. I have to reap what I sow."
Grace was stupefied. She had flashbacks of how Cindy was trying to seduce Heinz a decade ago.
She shook her head, "Perhaps this is fate. Some people are just not destined to be yours and forcing it won't do you much good. Marriage is all in fate's hands."
"But I just can't accept it," Cindy roared, "If you hadn't appeared that day, I would have successfully seduced Heinz that night."
After giving it some thought, Grace realized that Cindy really held a grudge on this matter and was reluctant to let this matter slip.
However, Grace was aware of what happened back then.
Back then when Cindy was seducing Heinz, Heinz was not even interested in her. He was just rooted there in place and refused to pay her any attention.
Back then, Grace was still suspicious of Heinz's character. It took her more than a decade to finally trust in Heinz entirely.
"Miss White," Grace said with a smile, "I don't mean to embarrass you, but I think it's necessary to remind you of something. Even if I didn't show up that night, you wouldn't have succeeded either way." "I would have," Cindy insisted.
"It's pointless to argue with you anymore. Even if I didn't appear, you would've been thrown out. How would you have succeeded?" Grace smirked, "You and I both know that Heinz isn't interested in you. He is not like all the other men, he won't get aroused by any ordinary woman."
Cindy's expression changed, and she looked a little embarrassed.
Memories flashed through her mind. Despite being unsatisfied and unwilling to give up, there was nothing she could do.
She could only vent her anger by throwing a tantrum in front of Grace, "If I didn't succeed that night, I would've succeeded sooner or later."
"No," Grace shook her head and explained, "You wouldn't have. If you really stood a chance, you would've already succeeded a long time ago."
"Grace Smith, you don't have to boast in front of me. I understand what you mean. You just want to tell me that only you can satisfy Heinz," Cindy shrieked hysterically, "You just want to show off that you can, but I can't, right?"
"Although I don't want to upset you, you always talk as if you stood a chance in seducing Heinz. I'm just here telling the truth that I'm the only one who can stand by his side," Grace really couldn't understand what was going on in Cindy's mind.
Sure enough, Grace's words had angered Cindy even more.
"Don't forget that you are not the only person Heinz got married to. His former wife, Jodie Lawson could also satisfy him."
Cindy had no other choice. She only brought up Jodie in an attempt to spite Grace.
Grace nodded and admitted, "That's all in the past. All of these happened before I knew him. Thus, I won't be bothered by it."
"After all these years, our relationship is still going strong. We clearly understand each other like the back of our hand. This is enough for me."
"Miss White, you don't have to make things difficult for me. You can't stop me. From the day I decided to marry Heinz, I have already made up my mind." "If I didn't, I wouldn't have another two children with him."
"We already have four children, and our relationship is still going strong after a decade. Do you think that you can break us apart just based on your words?" "Do you think you can create trouble for us? My advice for you is to stop trying to spout baseless nonsense."
"You have to know what you want. You are already in your forties, Miss White."
"I believe you understand what I mean. It's time to think about what people your age strive for."
"Don't let that imagination of yours ruin all your hard work."
"It is especially not worth it for a man who has never really had any feelings for you."
Cindy was speechless upon hearing Grace's words.
She gawked at Grace for a long time before she could react. She chose to provoke Grace, "You really are a smart-mouth." Grace chuckled indifferently, "You'd better go ahead and deal with the email. That should be your priority."
Cindy was taken aback again and shot back, "You don't need to remind me."
Grace shrugged and said no more. Then, she turned around and walked away.
Cindy had been in the entertainment industry for so many years. Grace knew that she would be able to weigh the pros and cons.
As soon as Cindy was certain Heinz was not the person that sent the email, she decided to hand over Celeste's guardianship to them.
She did so without asking for anything.
Grace frowned as she walked away.
Just then, Katherine came out and nodded at her.
Grace also nodded slightly as a gesture of goodwill. She stopped and turned around to stare at Cindy's fleeting figure.
Katherine followed closely behind.
Meanwhile, Cindy paced ahead quickly. She kept her head down and refused to look at Katherine.
Katherine followed behind and shouted, "Cindy, wait for me! Do you hear me? Don't walk so fast."
However, Cindy remained at her pace and stormed out. She had no intention to wait at all.
Grace had a bad hunch seeing how this woman was in such a hurry.
Was it possible that the reason Cindy forfeit being Celeste's guardian was that she feared that Celeste's life would be ruined after her video was leaked out? Could this be Cindy's last act of kindness for her adopted niece?
Could this be true? Was Cindy really this kind?
Cindy was actually concerned about Celeste, wasn't she?
Grace's thoughts lingered on these questions as she walked into the house, just to be greeted by a strong and warm embrace.
