True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1308
After hearing what Heinz had to say, Cindy's slightly proud and conspicuous expression suddenly froze. Her expression went out of control and her face turned pale. It was extremely embarrassing for her. Heinz uttered sarcastically in a condescending tone, "Why are you so old? Have you finally decided to take roles for the elderly?"
Cindy's expression grew nastier. She widened her eyes and was exasperated. She did not know why, but whenever she was facing Heinz, she seemed so weak and timid.
Grace tried her best to hold back her laughter. She pursed her lips and tried to stop herself from laughing out loud. Her stomach was aching a little from trying to hold herself back.
Cindy had brought it on herself. Seeing that she came waltzing in such a delighted manner, she must have bought the house next to theirs. That was why she came up to chat in such a haughty manner. However, Cindy probably didn't expect Heinz to berate her in such a manner.
A woman, especially a celebrity in the entertainment industry, cared most about their appearance.
She tried her best to maintain her composure, but it seemed that she was vulnerable when being insulted so sharply.
Grace really felt a little sympathy for Cindy.
Nothing had changed after ten years.
Back then, she had wrapped herself around Heinz and tried to take advantage of him. Eventually, Heinz had reprimanded her sharply and was disgusted, vowing never to associate himself with her again. This time, she took the initiative to strike up a conversation with him again, only to be berated by Heinz once more.
Sigh.
Heinz's sharp tongue was indeed effective.
Cindy had overestimated herself.
Fortunately, Cindy had adapted to their unkind words and managed to calm down, "Mr. Jones, you're really humorous."
"No," Heinz commented faintly, "I'm just telling the truth."
Cindy's face froze again and her mind went blank.
She suddenly turned towards Grace and shot a glance at her. In an instant, her heart was filled with jealousy. Grace was gorgeous. It was as though time did not leave a mark on her.
Women who had someone to love them were really different. Despite not wearing makeup, her bare face was pretty and simple.
Cindy immediately found something that she could change the topic to as she stared at Grace and said, "I believe you are Mrs. Jones."
Grace cursed silently and knew that things would probably take a turn for the ugly.
Heinz chimed in, "Yes, this is my wife, Grace Smith. She's the only woman in the world who is worthy of me, Heinz Jones."
What on earth was wrong with him?
Grace was so close to bursting in laughter.
Heinz did not forget to bring himself up while flattering her. It was as if they were the only couple in this entire world.
"Really?" Cindy smirked and continued, "Nice to meet you, Miss Smith."
"We've met before," Grace also had a smile as she answered politely, "We met a decade ago, Miss White."
It was not a reminder but a threat.
Anyone who was sharp would be able to understand what she meant.
Cindy's face turned pale.
Heinz instantly furrowed his brows. He looked very displeased and cast a questioning gaze at Grace.
Grace was amused. She looked back at Heinz, assuring him.
Cindy was a talented actress. She soon regained her composure and quickly chuckled, "Yes, I remember. Miss Smith, you were a reporter back then. It was you who took the picture of me and Heinz." "Yes," Grace was still very polite, "Speaking of which, I am grateful to you for allowing me to bump into Heinz again. If it wasn't for you, I would have never met him."
"Is that so?" Cindy frowned, "Miss Smith, you've really caused me a lot of trouble. I've been ridiculed by the whole nation because of that photo."
Her tone was full of resentment.
Grace replied, "I am truly sorry for my actions. I always wanted to apologize to you."
"What's there to apologize for?" Heinz grabbed Grace's slender waist and leaped up to her defense. He was clearly disgusted at Cindy as he shot back, "Cindy, you deserve it. You were the one who tried to seduce me. You should be grateful that I turned a blind eye to your actions, or you would have long been boycotted by the entire country."
Cindy's face was ashen again. She could feel the unfriendly and pressuring aura Heinz was giving off.
"Also, please call my wife Mrs. Jones," Heinz reminded her in an aggressive tone, "Miss Smith? Do you think everyone here is like you, who has grown so old just because they can't find a husband?" Cindy was stupefied once again. Her eyes widened in disbelief. A glimpse of ruthlessness flashed across her eyes but Heinz didn't notice it.
"Heinz!" Cindy cried out, unwilling to give up.
"Miss White, don't address me that intimately. Do you think you can call me Heinz?" Heinz chided coldly, "Do you think you are worthy enough to call me that?"
Cindy was even more annoyed and tried to appeal to him, "Didn't I call you that before? Back when Miss Smith wasn't with you, you allowed me to call you that."
"Can't you understand my words?" Heinz growled, "Or do you want my wife to misunderstand something?" "I won't misunderstand anything," Grace said at the right time, "Heinz, I just feel sorry for Miss White. After so many years, she is still refusing to give up on her past relationships."
"What past relationship?" Heinz corrected his wife's words unforgivingly, "I have never had a relationship with her. She's the only one who thinks that we were in a relationship. I've corrected her a few times but she ignored them. She is still as shameless as before."
"She has a good mentality too," Grace smirked and said to Heinz, "Miss White also has a good mentality, and her acting is also promising as well. If not, how would she be such a successful actress?" "There are ways to be a successful actress besides being talented in acting. It's difficult to find actresses who are dying to sleep with someone so enthusiastically in the entertainment circle and yet, be so successful. Hence, I also wouldn't want to degrade her so much. However, if they are people who don't know they are crossing the line and are trying to force their way into our family, I refuse to be polite to them. If I do, I'll just allow them to step over all of us, am I right?" Heinz said this very sarcastically.
Meanwhile, Katherine had caught up with Cindy. She stood beside them awkwardly and squeaked, "Mr. and Mrs. Jones, Miss White is really good at acting." "Was I criticizing her?" Heinz glared sharply at Katherine and shrugged, "Why are you so quick to defend her? Or are you afraid that we might have accidentally found out about some nasty secrets of hers?"
"I...!" Katherine was at a loss for words. She felt that she was in a difficult position.
Grace, who was standing beside him, said, "Heinz, others will misunderstand what you're saying."
"I'm not afraid of being misunderstood," Heinz said frankly, "I am literally in my own house. Am I not allowed to speak freely?"
In other words, he was hinting at how there was an uninvited guest in their house. Hence, he had no need to be courteous.
Furthermore, Cindy's perfume was so strong that people couldn't help but frown when they smelled it.
Heinz had long been accustomed to Grace's faint fragrance. He really disliked such a strong scent.
"What is this strong, pungent smell?" Heinz said rudely, "It smells terrible."
Upon hearing Heinz's direct comment, Grace wanted to laugh but was embarrassed to laugh so blatantly.
She stared at Cindy's distorted expression and felt sorry for her.
"Miss White, is there anything else you'd like to tell me?" Grace knew that now was not the time to talk about Celeste. She had to observe Cindy's behavior before talking about it.
Cindy squinted and tried to think of more topics so she could stay longer. However, Grace's words seemed to be driving her away.
After a pause, she smiled, "Mrs. Jones, it's fate for us to meet in a foreign country."
"That's true," Grace nodded and agreed, "It really is."
"My niece is your son's classmate," Cindy probably could not find a topic to talk about, so she brought up Celeste.
"Oh, really?" Grace pretended to be surprised and asked, "Who is your niece?"
Cindy smiled sweetly and replied, "Celeste White. Do you remember her?"
"Oh, Celeste?" Grace blinked and pretended to gasp in surprise, "Wait. Is it that missing child?"
Meanwhile, Heinz glanced at his wife. A smile flashed across his handsome face, but he quickly cooperated with his wife, "It's the girl Ernest told us about. She has just gone missing and hasn't attended schoo for a very long time."
Cindy's expression instantly soured.
Grace looked at her and added, "Miss White, where is Celeste? Since she is your niece, you must know where she is, right? The child hasn't attended school for such a long time and I heard that she went missing. This is a foreign country, I hope she didn't run into any trouble."
Hearing Grace's caring words, Cindy only felt even more ashamed.
Katherine's expression didn't look very good either as she stared at Cindy out of worry.
Meanwhile, Heinz found that Cindy had fallen silent.
He snorted coldly and asked, "Miss White, why are you so quiet?"
