True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1305
Liam was frozen to his very core. The phone slid out of his hand weakly.
Cindy looked at him and uttered indifferently, "It's fine. If she's left, just let her be. It's better for her to realize how cruel this world is." Sure enough, Cindy did not send people to look for her. She sat on the sofa, turned on the television, and started watching shows. Liam sat next to her, speechless.
Katherine came over and advised, "Cindy, Celeste is a girl after all, and it's late. Let's look for her. What if she really gets into trouble?" "I'm fine with that," Cindy uttered coldly.
Liam stood up immediately and stared at Cindy, insisting, "Miss White, it's not the right time to act on impulse. Let's find her."
"You're not allowed to go!" Cindy snapped.
Her face was already twitching, and a hint of anger and hatred could be seen between her brows.
Liam didn't expect Cindy to stop him at that crucial moment.
He couldn't help but say, "I'm sorry, Miss White. I'm afraid I can't follow your orders."
After that, Liam left.
When he left, Cindy picked up the cushion on the sofa and threw it, anger filling her entire chest.
"Why do you do this to yourself?" Katherine came up and sighed, "Look at your. You are obviously worried to death. Why are you still obstructing Liam? If Celeste really gets into trouble, won't you feel guilty about it?"
"I have nothing to do with her. She chose her own path," Cindy still refused to admit anything.
"You're just being stubborn," Katherine tried to talk sense into Cindy, "If something really happens to her, you'll regret it for sure."
Cindy stood up and stormed into her room. With a loud bang, the door was shut.
Katherine sighed. She picked up the phone and called Liam.
"Mr. Robinson, I'll leave Celeste in your hands."
Liam couldn't help but frown and ask, "What's going on? How could Miss White treat Celeste so coldly?"
"Her temper hasn't been very good lately. Don't take it to heart either, but she's always been worried about Celeste. She's just stubborn."
Liam didn't continue to say anything but uttered, "Okay, I'll go look for her."
It was only after he came out that he felt that this had gone out of control.
He picked up his phone and made a call to Ernest.
On the other end of the line, Ernest immediately guessed what had happened after receiving Liam's call.
Meanwhile, Celeste had returned to the villa and was staying in the room she used to stay in before.
Ernest answered the phone, "Liam, why haven't you slept yet?"
Liam ignored all Ernest's questions and asked desperately, "Did Celeste contact you?"
"No, she didn't."
It was not that Ernest didn't want to tell Liam the truth. In fact, his dad had told him that even if they wanted to contact Cindy, they had to wait for a few days. They needed Cindy to realize that Celeste had gone missing for a few days.
When they came up with this idea, Ernest was very opposed to it.
Yet, his mother also agreed with his father's proposal after a short moment of hesitation.
Later on, Ernest finally understood his father's motives.
He wanted Cindy to calm down for a few days.
They couldn't negotiate when they were exasperated.
When everyone calmed down, the discussion would go on much easier.
Therefore, Ernest immediately chose to lie. It seemed that Liam had found out that Celeste had gone missing.
"You haven't seen Celeste?" Liam was very surprised and asked, "You didn't contact her after that?"
"What's wrong?" Ernest acted as if he was very anxious, "What happened to Celeste? Didn't we go to the apartment and left together after that?"
"Yes!" Liam was very upset, "But she's missing."
"What?" Ernest pretended as if he was hearing this for the first time and said, "What should we do? Let's go and find her. Celeste seemed to be acting weird today. Would she act impulsively?" Hearing this, Liam held his breath and didn't dare to imagine it further.
"Did she really not contact you?" He asked again for confirmation.
"No. I'll go and look for her too. I'm going out now." "It's better if you don't come now," Liam grunted, "Let me know the moment Celeste contacts you. Just give me a call, I'm always available." Ernest nodded immediately, "Okay, I know. Give me a call if you find her too. I'm going to head out with my driver now." "Alright."
With that, the call ended.
After Ernest put down his phone, he wrapped his arms around his chest thoughtfully. It seemed that Liam was very anxious. He didn't know how Cindy would react when she knew about this. After coming out of his room, Ernest went and knocked on his parents' room. But after a long while, no one answered the door.
Thus, he could only knock on the door again. He thought that it would be better to tell his father about this.
This time, after a while, the door opened. His father's livid face appeared at the door impatiently.
"It's late. Why are you not asleep and knocking on the door?" Heinz was a little annoyed. He had just gotten into the mood with Grace before Ernest came to interrupt them by knocking on the door. "Dad, there's something that I think I should tell you," Ernest didn't need much explaining to know why his father was upset. It seemed that he had come at the wrong time and disturbed his parents' intimacy. Meanwhile, Grace's sound was heard from further in the room, "Is it Ernest?"
"Mom, it's me."
"Come in quickly," Grace said in an instant.
Ernest declined, "No, I just wanted to tell dad something. Just now, Liam called me to ask if I know anything about Celeste's current whereabouts."
"What did you say?" Heinz asked.
"I said I didn't know. He should have believed it."
"That's more like it," Heinz said as he nodded, "Tell them to look for her. It's just a test to see if they really care about Celeste."
After all, that was retribution for Cindy being so hateful and disrupting his lovely London trip with his wife.
"Alright. I'll go to sleep now," Ernest didn't dare to stay at the door for long, "Dad, mom, goodnight."
The answer to his question was the sound of Heinz slamming the door shut.
Ernest stuck his tongue out and went back to his room.
In the meantime, Liam looked everywhere for Celeste for the entire night. He sat in his car till daybreak, exhausted. He had called Celeste again and again, but her phone was switched off. Soon, morning came. It was already 10 o'clock.
Liam returned to the apartment where Celeste lived and looked through the surveillance footage. It was then that he found that Celeste and Ernest had already left together. He was furious.
He immediately asked the driver to take him to Ernest's villa.
As soon as he entered the door, Liam was stopped by the butler who asked, "May I ask who you are looking for?"
"Ernest, ask him to come meet me, now."
Ernest actually lied to him.
Liam was fuming. He treated Ernest as a friend, but Ernest actually lied to him. He had been searching the entire night for Celeste and couldn't find any trace of her. When Ernest heard Liam's voice from the second floor, he saw that Liam was infuriated. He immediately knew that Liam might have figured everything out.
When he was about to go downstairs, he saw Maria rush out of the house and head straight towards the exasperated Liam.
"It's you, Liam?" Maria seemed like she was in a trance. She widened her eyes in disbelief and looked at Liam, "It's really you."
Despite seeing Maria, Liam ignored her directly and looked up at the window.
Seeing that Liam wasn't paying attention to her, Maria was a little embarrassed. She stood there stiffly and asked, "Are you looking for Ernest? I'll call him for you." "Miss Maria, Mr. Jones has forbidden strangers from entering," Just then, the butler reminded Maria.
Maria was dumbfounded and said to the butler, "It doesn't matter, Liam is a friend of Ernest."
"Ernest Jones," Liam shouted once again.
Ernest was not in a hurry to come downstairs. Instead, he remained upstairs, looking at the anxious Liam with a faint smile on his face.
Despite Maria saying so, the butler stood down and still refused Liam from entering.
Liam squinted his eyes and looked at Maria.
Maria hurriedly said, "Follow me first. I'll help you find Ernest."
"Where's Celeste?" He asked.
Maria was stunned. She pursed her lips, and a look of embarrassment flashed across her face.
When Celeste came back the night before, Uncle Heinz had warned her that she couldn't tell anyone about Celeste's return.
Therefore, Maria was in a dilemma and didn't know what to say.
Liam stared at the girl's conflicted face and growled, "Tell me."
Maria gawked but didn't say anything.
On the second floor, Ernest called out, "Liam, come up and talk. It's not good to shout around the compound."
Maria also explained quickly, "Ernest is upstairs."
After shooting a glance at Maria, Liam's face softened a little and he walked in.
Fortunately, the adults had gone out and were not at home.
Liam headed straight upstairs.
Ernest waited for him at the stairs. Staring at Liam, he smiled, "Liam, you're here."
Liam glared at him lividly.
Ernest only chuckled, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
