True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1302
"Then what should Celeste do now?" Ernest looked at Grace with a worried face.
Grace looked at her son and saw that he was worried sick. She secretly sighed. When Ernest told her about this, she thought that her son was very concerned about this entire issue, and even more so about Celeste.
Her two sons both valued Celeste so much. Was it a blessing or a curse?
But now, it was not the right time to be dwelling on this.
After giving it some thought, Grace felt that it was necessary to let her son know the seriousness of the problem.
"Son, they couldn't just cut off all ties by word of mouth. Celeste is still underaged, she doesn't have the right to cut off all ties with Cindy."
Ernest nodded and explained, "That's why I found Uncle Logan and asked him to find a lawyer for Celeste."
"You talked to Alex?" Grace asked in surprise.
Ernest nodded, "I didn't want to tell you at first, but
I think it's such a serious matter. After giving it some thought, I think it's better for me to tell you."
"Of course you have to tell me," Grace was serious, "You are only sixteen years old. Although you are very calm, you won't be able to be thorough about some matters."
Ernest also agreed with his mother's words, but he was more worried about Celeste.
"Mommy, can you become Celeste's guardian?"
After thinking for a while, Grace sighed, "I think it's necessary to let your father come forward and settle this."
"Dad has to come forward?" Ernest was stupefied and then shook his head quickly, "No, dad and Cindy cannot meet."
His first reaction was to be alert.
Grace smiled and shook her head, reassuring Ernest, "Don't be so frightened. I understand your father, and I also trust your father."
After so many years of being a married couple, they had long trusted each other. Their trust was indestructible.
They were husband and wife.
They would be together for the rest of their life.
In the beginning, it was because they didn't understand each other well enough and were too sensitive. Thus, it was easy for them to have misunderstood each other, and hence, a lot of bumps happened along the way.
Now, with each passing year, they had long understood each other like the back of each other's hands.
Grace absolutely believed that nothing could possibly happen between Heinz and Cindy.
It was impossible.
Even if Cindy still had feelings for Heinz. Heinz couldn't have.
"Mommy, I know you trust dad. I believe in daddy too, but I don't believe in Cindy. Celeste cut off all ties with her because of this matter. This only goes to show how bad the quarrel was."
Grace reasoned, "Celeste is a kind child. Although she is a little timid and not good with words, now that she's aware of how she was adopted and had been alone for all this time, it's reasonable for her to act as such. Your dad and I should help her get past this obstacle."
"I think looking for a lawyer is enough," Ernest insisted, "There is no need for us to meet up with Cindy."
"No," Grace shook her head, "We won't be able to settle things if we don't meet up. We can only face the problem head-on. We have to muster up our courage and face it." "Face what?" Suddenly, Heinz's voice was heard from the door of the room.
He then strode in confidently. He looked at Grace and then turned to look at Ernest, asking in surprise, "What are you two talking about?"
Glancing at him, Grace said, "We are indeed talking about something."
"What is it?" Heinz raised his eyebrows and inquired, "Can't I be a part of the conversation? Why must you guys talk about this behind my back?" "I'll let you know now," Grace said.
"Go ahead then," Heinz came in. He sat down next to his wife by the bed and looked at her tenderly.
"Mom, I don't think you should say it," When Grace was about to talk, Ernest quickly interrupted her.
Heinz also looked at Ernest in an instant. He frowned, "Why can't you tell me?"
"Why not?" Grace looked at her son and tried to persuade him, "Ernest, your father is the best person to deal with this."
After a moment's hesitation, Ernest finally nodded his head.
He was worried that if his father and Cindy met, something might happen.
"Tell me, stop trying to hide," Heinz couldn't wait any longer.
"Do you still remember Cindy White?" Grace asked with a smile.
Heinz frowned slightly. For a moment, he was in a trance. Then, he fixed his eyes on his wife and asked, "Why did you bring up this woman for no reason?"
He was very disgusted with Cindy.
"It seems that you remember her," Grace had a smirk on her face.
Heinz pursed his lips, "Of course I remember. I'm not senile. Moreover, I remember that back then, you plotted against me."
That was the first time Grace had officially met with Heinz apart from the time they met in a wilderness resort.
Of course, he would not forget their encounter.
Whenever he recalled their first time meeting, he couldn't help but have flashbacks of Cindy's hands.
Grace also chuckled, "Yes, to be exact, that night, I not only framed you, but also framed Cindy. When
I think about it now, I also feel sorry for Cindy. It made her so embarrassed." "She is just shameful. You did not do anything sorry to her, I am the only one who suffered from that," Heinz said in disgust. Heinz looked deeply at his wife as he spoke. There was a surge of emotions in his gaze that only he and Grace knew.
Grace quickly patted him on the back and said, "Well, I have something to tell you now." How could he flirt with her in front of their child?
"What is it?"
Grace said slowly, "Celeste is adopted by Cindy. Now, they are cutting off all ties, but it's just a verbal agreement. Celeste is still underage and she is unable to handle this on her own."
"It's none of my business," Heinz frowned and was a little upset, "You are really hopeless. Do you really want to help Cindy's adopted child?"
As he spoke, his gaze swept over Ernest with a hint of doubt in his eyes, "If Celeste is Cindy's adopted child, why didn't I hear Ernest and Gary talk about it in the past?"
Ernest was stupefied. He glanced at his father and tried to avoid his gaze.
"Don't tell me that you guys didn't know before," Heinz reprimanded his son.
Ernest came to his senses and quickly shook his head, denying, "Dad, we really didn't know."
"Liar," Heinz shot back childishly, "Judging from your look, you might have even known clearly who Cindy was and also about the photos your mother took."
Seeing that his father had already seen through his thoughts, Ernest grinned sheepishly, "Dad, the reason we didn't say it before is because we were scared that it might be awkward for you."
"Why would it be awkward for me?" Heinz frowned. There wasn't the slightest bit of embarrassment on his face. Instead, he was furious, "Do you think that your mother doesn't know about this? Back then, I might have kept your mother in the dark. Now, is there anything I won't tell your mother first?"
"Yes, of course!" Ernest nodded quickly, "Dad, of course, you and mom have a good relationship. We can all see that.'
"Since you know, then why are you still bringing Cindy White up?" Heinz rolled his eyes at his son.
Grace patted him on the shoulder again and said, "Stop that. The focus is not your relationship with Cindy, it should be the relationship Celeste has with Cindy. That child no longer has a guardian, and she won't be able to proceed with her studies without a guardian. We have to think of a way to help her so she can continue to further her studies."
Heinz looked at his wife with a frown, "Can we not mingle with people related to Cindy?"
"She's a pitiful child," Grace emphasized.
"There are much more pitiful children in this world," Heinz was disgusted, "I feel annoyed the moment I think of Cindy White. That woman is like a blood-sucking mosquito. She's just eager for my blood." Now that he thought about it, he still felt a wave of lingering fear.
Moreover, Celeste was raised by Cindy. The world was really a small place.
"What!" Seeing that he didn't have sympathy for the child, Grace immediately retorted, "Are you sure she is a blood-sucking mosquito? Why don't you put the blame on yourself?"
Seeing that his wife was upset and her face was full of anger, Heinz immediately smiled wryly, "Honey, it's just a metaphor."
"Don't try to laugh this off," Grace was solemn, "Celeste's studies have to be dealt with. We have to help the child, since this is related to the child's future. If Cindy does not raise her, you can be her guardian."
