Yvonne felt that Zachary had changed in every aspect. He became peaceful, and it was easy to negotiate with him.

They no longer fought with each other like before.

He wouldn't look at her coldly. Every time she raised her eyes to look at him, she would see his gentle and considerate eyes.

This made Yvonne extremely curious that she felt like she was going to suffocate. She really didn't know what caused Zachary to become so gentle.

It was already eight-thirty when they finished their meal and left the company.

From Zachary's office to the corridor and the elevator, Zachary held her hands and didn't give her any chance to refuse. They held each other's hand all the way to the underground parking lot.

He even asked her to sit in the car and fasten her seatbelt for her.

His actions were simply too strange for Yvonne.

She looked at Zachary in astonishment the entire journey home.

Not long after they arrived home, Yvonne truly couldn't hold back anymore. She blurted out, "Why are you suddenly acting like this? What happened? Can you just tell me?"

She didn't want to be thrown into gentleness for a moment and the abyss the next.

There should at least be a head's up.

Zachary looked at her for a few seconds, then looked away and said softly, "Don't you like me treating you this way?"

"I do, but it makes me uneasy," Yvonne said truthfully.

Because there was no sense of security.

Zachary did not give her enough sense of security. In fact, she was afraid of his constant mood swings.

Her answer made Zachary secretly sigh. He looked at Yvonne faintly and asked, "Yvonne, when you left, did you ever think that I might find someone else?" Her heart suddenly skipped a beat.

Yvonne's heart ached painfully. She didn't know the purpose of his question. She could only stare at his dark eyes and slowly lowered her eyes.

"I did." Only two words. Her voice was so hoarse and sorrowful it was heart-shattering.

Zachary's eyes tightened. "If I had another woman by my side, what would you do?"

"I don't know." She shook her head.

Every time she thought that he could have another woman by his side, Yvonne's heart would feel stuffy and suffocated.

She didn't dare to think about it.

"But... but you don't have anyone, do you?" Yvonne said in a soft voice, "I know."

Zachary looked at her and sighed. He said, "So you should be glad that there are no other women around me. You have always been the one." Yvonne's heart jumped as she looked at Zachary.

He continued, "Even if I left this spot empty, I'm unwilling to let others take advantage. So this time, Yvonne, please cherish me."

"And I'll cherish you too."

He added the sentence in his heart.

His gaze had never left Yvonne's face.

Yvonne was shaken to her core when she heard his words.

She did not answer.

But she knew in her heart that she was lucky that she didn't lose him.

Fortunately, he still needed her.

After taking a shower, Zachary answered a call in the next room. Yvonne looked at the time; it was almost ten-thirty. She laid on the bed with her eyes closed but found that she couldn't fall asleep. Her nap in the afternoon was a bit long, and she had regained her strength and energy.

She looked at the door but did not know who Zachary was calling. He was in the room next door, whispering.

She carefully thought about what Zachary had said to her before and felt that those words were really unexpected.

But he did not insist on her answering.

He seemed to be saying this to remind her, but at the same time, not.

She was eager to have a normal married life. If she could be reunited with her daughter and Zachary, of course, she would cherish that kind of life.

Every time she thought of this, Yvonne's eyes would always glitter with light. She longed for a family so much that her heart would tremble.

When Zachary entered, he saw the desire in Yvonne's eyes. He walked to her.

Yvonne immediately came back to her senses and saw the strange look in his eyes as he looked at her.

She immediately said, "Uh, you're done with your call?"

Zachary nodded. Just now, he had arranged for someone to investigate the truth of the past. What on earth did his father do? Moreover, he also needed to go back to Southland to see his father's old subordinates.

He wanted a clear answer for what had happened. Although he had an answer in his heart and felt that Fabian would not lie to him, he was still a cautious person and wanted to investigate properly. "Then let's go to sleep." She looked at his bloodshot eyes and said considerately.

Last night, he stayed in a hotel.

Right now, he was by her side.

She cherished this moment very much.

Zachary's eyes gleamed as he looked at her. There was amusement in his eyes. "Are you inviting me to sleep with you?"

Why did his sentence sound so misleading?

Yvonne felt that this question sounded so embarrassing.

She immediately played dumb and covered herself with the blanket without saying a word.

Then, she felt her blanket being lifted and all she saw was darkness.

There was only a shadow.

He hugged her tightly.

Yvonne felt that he had really changed. He became a man in love, protecting her well.

On this night, Yvonne once again felt the wonderful feeling of love.

They seemed to have returned to their youth.

He was still the gentle and passionate boy, and she was still the innocent and pure girl.

Early the next morning.

Yvonne and Zachary went to work together.

After Zachary entered his office, Xandra and Isabelle both lowered their heads. They kept their heads low and did not speak. It seemed that they did not gossip anymore. Yvonne felt a little strange.

She had stayed in Zachary's office for the whole afternoon and did not leave even until off work the day before. People like Isabelle and Xandra, who loved gossip, would definitely talk about it.

But now, neither of them had any reaction. They were expressionless, Xandra's eyelids were even red and swollen.

What was going on?

Yvonne was a bit confused.

She took a deep breath and a trace of confusion flashed in her eyes.

At ten, Yvonne met Xandra in the pantry. She looked at Yvonne as she suddenly smiled strangely and said with a hint of sarcasm, "How are you, Madam Lowe?"

"Madam Lowe?" Yvonne was shocked.

She did not quite understand why Xandra would address her this way.

"Hmph." Xandra said with a snicker, "Just continue to pretend. You are such a good actor, Madam Lowe. You're the president's wife, and yet you still put on an act and make fun of us. You find this interesting, don't you?"

Yvonne was surprised again. "What are you talking about? I really don't understand what you mean."
