True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1066
Mrs. Yarbrough looked at Grace and felt very embarrassed. Her eyes were slightly red.
Grace also looked at her. She thought that Mrs. Yarbrough was very good-looking and her figure and temperament were good as well, only that she was a little distant. Moreover, she heard that she was a teacher, so she had that intellectual aura.
Even when she was in a miserable state, she still maintained a good image and temperament.
She said she and Mr. Yarbrough had divorced. When did it happen?
Could it be this morning?
She looked at Heinz suspiciously and asked softly, "When did Mr. Yarbrough divorce?"
"I don't know," Heinz shook his head.
"This morning," Quinn chimed in. "We've ended our twenty years of marriage just this morning."
Just then, Zayne also stood up and walked towards Grace.
When he stood in front of her, he took a good look at this woman beside Heinz, the one whom Heinz had taken good care of.
His eyes were calm and there were not many emotions in them.
Grace also looked at him.
For a moment, the atmosphere became awkward again.
The pair of siblings had never met before but they knew who each other were as they looked at each other.
They didn't say anything.
After sometime, Zayne finally greeted, "Grace, I'm Zayne."
Grace was stunned. She didn't expect her younger brother to take the initiative to speak first. On the contrary, she, his older sister, was too embarrassed to speak.
"I apologize to you on behalf of my mother," Zayne said as he bowed.
Zayne's actions stunned Grace, "Don't, Zayne, don't be like this." She said.
Zayne made a 90° bow. When he got up, he looked at Grace and said again, "Since my mother wanted to harm you, let's settle this properly. It's better to investigate this matter clearly." Since Zayne said so, Grace naturally replied,
"Zayne, don't be like this. I don't even know how much of an impact it has on me."
"The more reason to investigate," Zayne said. "Leave it to the police."
Heinz nodded in agreement, "I also think it's good to leave it to the police."
Grace was a little hesitant. She was puzzled by Zayne's attitude.
He was sending his mother to prison.
If Mrs. Yarbrough turned herself in, she might be sent to jail for her wrongdoing.
What exactly was Zayne thinking about?
Grace looked shockingly at the calm boy in front of her who didn't look like the other boys his age. He was really not an ordinary boy. He was too calm.
That was his mother.
He took a good look at Zayne and asked, "Does Mr. Yarbrough know that you guys are leaving this to the police?"
"Are you still calling him Mr. Yarbrough, and not Dad?" Zayne asked as if he hadn't heard her question.
Grace was taken aback. She was a bit uncertain of Zayne's intention. Was he asking this because he thought that it was unfair for Mr. Yarbrough, or because he felt that it was unneccesary for his mother to harm her like this.
The answer was obviously the latter.
Zayne thought that it wasn't worthy for Mrs. Yarbrough to harm her.
Looking at Zayne, Grace said, "Yes, frankly speaking, I can't call him Dad. Although Mr. Yarbrough and I are biologically related, we have never lived together, so I can't call him Dad."
"I understand," Zayne only said two words.
Quinn was also stunned.
"Mrs. Yarbrough, I don't know why you did this. I just don't think it's necessary. I pose no threat to you. Why do you want to harm me? If my existence brings harm to you, I'm very sorry, because this is not what I can choose," Grace looked at Quinn and said, "You guys said you want to get the police to settle this matter but I don't want to. This is the first time I'm being merciful. I don't want us to have hatred towards each other, and I don't want to be your imaginary enemy. I just want to live a peaceful life."
"You don't want to hold my mother accountable?" Zayne asked again.
Grace nodded, "There's no point in pursuing the matter now that it has already become like this. If pursuing your mother can save the children in my belly from the damage, I'm willing to do so. But right now, I don't know if there's any harm."
Grace smiled self-mockingly. Even if she pursued the matter, it still wouldn't change anything if the harm had been done.
She could only blamed herself for being too softhearted.
Zayne looked at Grace and didn't move for quite some time. His eyes kept staring at Grace.
Grace said to him, "You don't have to apologize, and we won't have any interactions anymore. I don't want to keep in touch with you to be honest, including towards Mr. Yarbrough. I'm sorry for your divorce. If I see Mr. Yarbrough, I'll tell him the same thing, too. So, let's live our separate lives in peace."
Quinn was dumbfounded.
Then, Grace turned to Heinz and said, "Heinz, let's go back to rest."
"Okay," Heinz escorted Grace back into the ward.
"Wait," Zayne spoke again.
Grace stopped.
"I'll go with my mom to turn herself in," Zayne said.
Grace was startled and turned to look at him subconsciously. He was truly a placid teenager.
His eyes were frighteningly calm.
Grace looked at her with confusion, "She's your mother. Why do you have to do that?"
Zayne said indifferently, "It's for conscience's sake."
Grace looked at him, turned around and went into the ward.
For a teenager to be able to do this, it was too terrifying.
After Grace returned to the ward, Heinz said, "Just let them be."
"Yes," Grace nodded and said, "It's the only way. They can do whatever they want."
Soon, Zayne and Quinn left.
Outside the hospital, Zayne called a taxi and personally sent his mother to the police station.
Heinz's bodyguards followed them. Soon, they got the news and came back to report, "President, Zayne and Mrs. Yarbrough have indeed gone to the police station to turn herself in, and the police are ready to investigate."
Grace exclaimed in surprise, "He really brought his mother to turn herself in. This child is too terrifying."
Heinz was also shocked.
He frowned and said, "This boy is really not simple. It is really impressive that he could do this, but he's too unfilial."
She lowered her head and gently stroked her belly.
"I didn't expect my existence to cause Madam Berkeley to be like this. I mean, we've never even met. I really don't know what to do." Grace sighed.
Just then, the bodyguard came in again and reported, "Sir, Madam, Mr. Yarbrough is here."
Grace and Heinz froze.
Heinz said, "Ask him to leave."
"No, let him in and make everything clear," said Grace.
Heinz thought about it and agreed.
Soon, Timothy entered. He was relieved when he saw Grace, "Are you okay, Grace?"
Grace curled her lips and squeezed out a pale and weak smile, "Mr. Yarbrough, I'm fine, but you don't look very well."
Timothy looked haggard. His eyes were bloodshot. Looking at her, his eyes were full of apologies.
Grace's heart suddenly sank.
She could feel that Mr. Yarbrough was worried about her.
She wanted to tell him not to keep in touch anymore, but she couldn't utter a word.
