The Unwanted Luna
Chapter 47

The bright light accosts my eyes. Almost blinding me in the process. I don't feel that though, it is overshadowed by the feeling of the sun on my skin. The warmth that was traveling through my entire body. I take a while to just breathe in the fresh air and bask in the sun. That is until Hade's irritated voice cuts through my happy fog.

"Would you please hurry up?" he growled in irritation.

For a moment I want to hit him. Then I remember that he did kind of save me. Besides, I doubt I would win against him now. Without my powers, he would totally wipe the floor with my face.

"Fine" I grumbled. "Where are we headed anyway and who are we going to see?" I asked in curiosity.

He had mentioned seeing someone first. I wondered who that person was. Given the urgency he wanted us to see him or her, I guess the person was important.

"A sorcerer," he simply answered.

"You've got to be kidding me. Really?"

"Do I look like I am joking?" he throws back at me.

"Sorcerers were killed and the other deities banned the use of sorcery and any form of magic related to it"

Just like with any being that grew too powerful to challenge the gods and goddesses, Sorcerers were killed about two hundred years ago when their magic grew and they threatened the upper deities. Stop reading the wrong and incomplete storyline, jo b nib.com has the correct and complete book. Since then, anyone suspected of having sorcery magic in them was killed before they could grow too powerful.

"True, but you know very well that I don't give a fuck what the other deities say or do. I run my shit like I want to and keeping a sorcerer nearby comes in handy" he replies with a shrug.

Hades is what you would call the black sheep of the deities. He does what the hell he wants, when he wants and no one can tell him shit about it.

They gave up on him a long time ago when they realized that he would never conform to their expectations. Apart from Agron, the only other god that the rest were weary of was Hades. The way he was unpredictable kept them on their toes.

I looked around. The sun was shining, I could also see the birds in the air. The grass was green and there were people playing, while some just relaxed on the grass. I remember meeting my parents in a place like this before I ascended.

"Hey Hades, is it possible to see my parents?" I asked. I wanted to so badly. Wanted to hear someone tell me that everything was going to be alright.

"No. This paradise is for humans. Your parents are in a different one and we don't have time to go there" he replied softly.

I feel a pang of disappointment, but I also understand. The fate of the entire world was at stake. We can't afford to waste any precious time. "Is your hellhound with you?" Hades asks out of the blue.

"Yeah, we talked a little before you came. She said that the fates told her to congratulate me and let me know that this is just the beginning."

Knowing what I know now, I understand why they wanted her to congratulate me. The fact that Hades and I thought ahead, even though I forgot about it, meant that we had avoided disaster.

If I had truly died, then there would have been no way of bringing me back. The fates were powerful, but even reviving a dead goddess was beyond them. The fact that they insist that I am the only one who can defeat Agron would have meant that the world would have been doomed.

"Damn, I hate those three bitches. They have a way of interfering in things that are none of their business", he mumbles.

It takes a while for me to realize that he was talking about the fates. I couldn't argue with him though. I didn't hate them, but that didn't mean that I was okay with their cryptic words and their meddling.

"You never told me what's in it for you. What do you gain from all this? After all, Agron is your brother", I added, just to keep the conversation going.

I noticed us crossing a river which looked like it had bodies. Formless floating bodies. This was probably the river of souls. Ignoring their screeching, I focus on Hades answer.

"Yes he's blood, but just like your sister is a total bitch, Agron is an asshole. I rather like being the god of hell and I'll be damned if I let him destroy everything I've built" he answered. His voice on edge.

I am a little bit shocked that he knows about Bianca. I couldn't even argue with him because everything he said was the damn truth. Bianca was a colossal bitch. Whether or not I had killed our parents didn't give her the right to hurt me in the worst way possible.

I've never truly known if she took Xavier from me out of spite or if she had genuinely loved him and finding out he was my mate was just a bonus. Anyway, I may no longer love him, but I don't think I could ever forgive her for what she did. In my eyes, that was totally irredeemable. "We're here" Hade's voice interrupts my thoughts.

I looked around to find nothing but an old hut made of dried grass. It really didn't seem like a place a sorcerer would live, but I was not going to judge a book by its cover.

I follow Hades and the calming scent of sage penetrates my nose. The inside was much bigger and fancier than what the outside looked like. An old man was seated on the floor, his legs crossed, his eyes staring blankly at us.

"Is that you Hades?" he asks in a dry and frail voice.

It is then that I realized that he wasn't staring at us blankly. He was blind.

"Yeah, it's me Mozart" comes Hades' affectionate and soft voice.

For a moment I was shocked. I've never heard him speak this softly with so much emotion. It was weird as hell.

The old man smiles. "You've brought a friend, I see."

"I wouldn't call her a friend, more like a means to an end" Hades replied, making me glare at him.

Sure, we weren't friends, but I felt kind of offended. I was more than a means to an end.

Hades ignores my death glare and continues "We need your help, Mozart, it's really important."

"I figured that much. The answers you seek can only be found in the dark and forbidden forest. There you will be able to find the elixir of the gods, the only thing powerful enough to bring your powers back. But I must warn you, your journey won't be easy. Khaos and Agron will do everything in their power to prevent you from rising again" he says, facing me.

"The elixir could restore you but it could also destroy you. I sense darkness in your soul, young woman, a darkness that has been eating and chipping at your soul for years. If you take the elixir while in this state, it will reject you and deem you unworthy. It will kill you. You'll have to find the cleansing river, there you can find yourself again. Cleanse yourself and let go of the past."

He continues. "After this, you'll have to find a way to wake up Gaia, Aether and Hemera. Among all the other primordials, they're the only ones not driven by greed and power. They will guide you on what to do next." He finishes.

"I have a question" Hades stated when Mozart finished talking. "How was Agron able to wake up Khaos?"

"That I cannot tell you, but you must know that this was planned way before any of you existed. Khaos put her plans in motion from the day Agron was born. Sinking her talons deep inside him without anyone realizing it"

Part of what he said made sense while the other did not. There were still so many answered questions but there was one at the forefront of my mind. One that has been bugging me since Hades told me I had a missing soul. "I died but Hades tells me he hid a part of my soul. When I am revived, will the mate bond between me and my ex mate be revived also?" I asked nervously.

The last thing I wanted or needed was to be tied to Xavier. After everything he did to me, I just couldn't forgive him and let things go.

"Yes, the bond will be fully intact" he replies.

"Is there a way for me to break it?"

Mozart sighs. "That will be going against the fates. Going against destiny"

I frown, feeling my heart squeeze. That wasn't the answer I was hoping for. I feel dejected and defeated. I didn't want to get stuck with a bond and a mate I didn't want.

"But there is a way of breaking it" he added, making me look up. "Like I said, you'll find all that you seek in the dark forest. Be warned though, breaking the bond might have serious consequences."

I nodded my head, but at this point I just didn't care. As long as I was free from Xavier, then the rest I would deal with later.

"Thank you Mozart. We will be going, but I will be back for our gaming session", Hades said, getting up from the chair.

"Thank you very much Mozart", without thinking, I leaned forward and kissed his cheek.

He gave me hope and I'll forever be grateful to him.

We got out of the hut and began walking.

"Where to next?" I asked.

Hades sighs. "To Tartarus, it's where I hid the other piece of your soul."

Why the hell did he hide my soul there? Everyone knows that's where the wicked and damned were sentenced. It was also where the Greek Titans were imprisoned.
