The Twin Alphas’ Fated Mate
Fated to a Fae Chapter 15

~Jereth-

"Sear, it's been two weeks. When will we be retrieving my sister?" I ask. I'm getting impatient.

"Jereth, you know these things take time." Sear says and I roll my eyes.

"Yeah, but how much time do you need? I read up on werewolf mates and it says once they have been marked, they're marked for life. What if these twins have already marked Selenia? Then what will we do?" I say to him. Sear turns to me.

"I needed time to figure out what we are dealing with. I have learned that Alpha Maxton Anderson has a big family. He was the first born child, making him the next Alpha. His mother's name is Mercury. She is a caster and married Elliot and Arthur Anderson. They are twins. Kind of messed up, if you ask me. Couldn't find anything about which one is Maxton's father. I assume that means they don't know and they both act as the father. Maxton has two younger brothers. Blake and Rhett Anderson. Also twins. They are four years younger. They just turned 18, the year you are able to find your mate. These three have another family member who they call their brother, but is not actually a brother. Kaden Anderson. He is the younger brother of Elliot and Arthur. There is a 21-year age gap between them. I couldn't find much on that other than they do not share a mother, only a father. And they are all dead. Elliot, Arthur and Mercury took in Kaden as an infant when Mercury was pregnant. Kaden is less than a year older than Maxton and they were raised together. Maxton chose Kaden to be his second in command. Beata is what they call it." Sear tells me.

"That's kind of like our story. Had no parents, so yours took me in and we were unofficially brothers from that day on. And I became your second in command." I say.

"Right. It all felt very familiar because of that. And I felt for these people. They've had a lot of run-ins with bad people. Humans even." Sear says. I look up at him.

"You're not thinking of leaving my sister there just because they've had a rough time, are you?" I ask. Sear smirks at me.

"Of course not. They took what is mine. They knew she was promised to me and they decided what they wanted was more important than an existing contract." Sears says. I nod.

"Laurel says it looked like Selenia went willingly. This probably means she didn't want to get married to you." I say.

"Yes, but she doesn't know about you yet. Maybe she will be more inclined to come back with us if she knows not all over her family is gone." Sear points out. "And if she doesn't believe you, use your gift."

I smirk. Like Selenia, I have a gift. Selenia can feel emotions and people's intentions. I can see into people's heads and project my own memories by making physical contact, like holding someone's hand. If I look into someone's head to find the truth, that becomes one of my memories and I am then able to show others, usually Sear. We've done this during interrogations many times.

"And what if she's been marked? I head that's permanent." I tell him.

"Yes, well, funny thing about magic is nothing is ever really permanent if you don't want it to be." Sears smirks.

"What did you do?" I ask, curiously.

"I may have found someone who isn't too happy with the Anderson family. Someone who has a connection to a strong caster. They've already been taking action against the family. I know for a fact one of the twins have not marked Selenia yet. Rhett was cursed for quite awhile." Sear says.

"Someone who isn't happy with them, huh? What did they do to this person?" I ask.

"This girl named Nicole was dating Rhett and wanted to be his mate. When he turned down her request many times, she got angry and demanded to know why. Rhett told her he didn't want to be with someone who wasn't his fated mate, especially if that person was some his family hated and thought was a slut." Sear says.

"Damn, those are some harsh words. So, where is this girl now?" I ask.

"She's here in the castle. She had to leave the pack because the curse on Rhett broke somehow and she feared everyone would know she was the reason the curse was placed in the first place. Because she's my connection to this caster who will be able to get rid of any mark Selenia has, I granted her a safe place to stay in exchange for all the information she can give me and a meeting with her caster friend." Sear tells me.

"And she agreed to all of this?" I ask.

"Of course. She's pissed off and wants them taken down. She said anything she can do to help, she will." Sear says.

"You trust her?"

"Not entirely, but she's given me no reason to doubt her so far." Sears says and I nod.

"So, when will we be going to get my sister?" I ask.

"Nicole asked her caster friend to meet. That meeting is happening later this morning. Once we get an idea of what she can do for us, we will move out. Possibly tonight." Sear says. I smile.

"My baby sister will be surprised to see us." I say.

"Do you think she'll be more surprised that we showed up to get her or that you are her brother she never knew she had?" Sear asks with a chuckle.

"With your reputation, they might expect you to try to take her back. I feel like the brother she never knew about might be the biggest shock." I say.

"Let's get ready for the meeting with this caster. I expect they should be here soon." Sear says. I agree and we get to work.

~Selenia-

I wake up sandwiched between both of the twins. This was the first night Rhett was allowed out of the hospital and he wanted to be with me. I told myself I was happy with just Blake, but this is something completely different. I was not expecting to feel this way for the both of them. It's funny how the mate bond works. It feel different with both of them. They're twins, but their personalities are vastly different and so are our bonds. I can feel Blake's protectiveness and overwhelming love through his bond and Rhett's fun-loving personality and insationable desire through his bond. Rhett and I have not spent enough time together to call it love yet, although I know he feels that way for me. I can feel it though my gift. Not as strong as Blake, but Blake and I have had more time to bond, more time to connect.

I try to wiggle my way out of their grip, but it only makes Rhett grip me tighter. He pulls me into him closer. He's behind me, so my back is to his firm chest. I feel his breath on my skin.

"And just where do you think you're going?" Rhett whispers into my ear. His morning voice is deep and sends shivers down my spine.

"I have to use the bathroom." I whisper back, trying not to wake Blake up too. Then I'll never escape. Rhett lifts his arm off me and I quickly get up before he changes his mind. Unfortunately, Rhett decides to follow me and gets up from the bed too.

"No, you are not watching me pee." I say, stopping at the bathroom door. Rhett chuckles and smirks at me.

"Fine, but let me in when you're done. I need to brush my teeth." He says. I nod and close the door.

When I finish, I keep my word and open the door up for him again. To my surprise, both of the twins are up now. Blake stands off to the side, his wavy hair a mess from sleeping. Jeez, is there ever a time these two don't look like Greek gods? They have me melting every time I look at

them.

"Are you just going to stare at us or are you going to let us in, love?" Blake asks with an amused face. I blink and shake my head.

"Sorry. Can't help but to stare." I mutter.

"We don't mind, beautiful. As long as it's you staring." Rhett says walking into the bathroom. I move to the counter and start to brush my teeth. Good thing Blake's bathroom has two sinks. When I am done, I move so that Blake can brush his and I start to brush my hair. Because it's so long, it gets tangled easily and takes awhile to brush out. I move all my hair to the one side as Rhett comes behind me. His eyes go to the back of my neck.

"Is this your Fae mark?" He asks me while touching my skin.

"Yes, it is." I say.

"It looks sort of like a small tree in a circle." Blake says.

"Yeah, the Earth Fae get a tree, the most common symbol of nature, as their mark. The Air Fae

get lines that look like the air moving, the Water Fae get a small waves and the Fire Fae get flames. These marks usually show up at birth, but there have been a few instances where children get their marks later, some even as late as 7 years old. It's highly uncommon, but not

unheard of." I explain.

"That's cool. It's almost like a tattoo." Blake says.

"Yeah, I guess it is." I laugh.

"What's this big mark on the back of your shoulder?" Rhett asks and I look up at him in the

mirror.

"I...don't actually know. My parents always told me it was a birth mark, but after they were killed, the healer at our village said it looks like a burn scar." I tell them. "Who burned you?" Rhett asks, anger rolling off him. I hold his hand to calm him.

"Like I said, I don't know. The healer said she's seen many scars like it from when she's treated Fae who get into disagreements with the Fire Fae. They're not like the rest of the Fae." I say.

"What do you mean?" Blake asks.

"They can be extremely dangerous. A Fae can only manipulate their element. For example, I can make the flowers grow from where there is already soil. Or make existing vines move to my will. The same goes for the Air and Water Fae. They can manipulate what is already there. The Fire Fae were at a disatvantage. Usually, they have to stop and create a fire so they can use the flames. The rest of us have our element everywhere. There's earth and air everywhere and Water Fae can easily carry a water canister anywhere they go, or stay by a body of water. But fire you can't exactly carry around everywhere. But recently, some Fire Fae have been recorded to make fire out of thin air, with nothing but their hands. This is abnormal. And it scares

people. The most dangerous element is now evolving." I explain to them.

"Aren't all the elements dangerous?" Blake asks.

"Technically, yes, but to an extent. Three out of the four element tribes live by Mother Nature's

law to never use our magic to harm. Our warriors are trained to fight with weapons, not magic. It's against our customs. And even if we did use it to harm, the victim would either be mildly hurt and heal over time or they would die, usually from drowning if by a Water Fae. Fire Fae are not like that. They don't abide by the laws of Mother Nature and use their magic to gain power any way they can. They've wiped out entire villages. Entire families..." I wipe a tear from my cheek as I think of the pain my parent must have felt in their deaths. "They go for the kill most of the time. And if their magic doesn't kill them, it leaves the victim so severely injured and in pain, they'd wish they were dead. I haven't seen a burn as severe as a full body one, but from the few little ones I've encountered, I can imagine your entire body covered in burns would be

excruciating."

"f**k, that does sound bad." Blake mutters.

"Sear Darkvale has been known to do this. Create fire from nothing and cause destruction

wherever he goes. He's highly respected in the Fire Fae community and greatly feared by

everyone else. I've heard rumors his second in command, his adopted brother, can do the same." I say.

"Sear has an adopted brother?" Blake asks.

"Yeah. No one really knows his name. I've heard many different versions. Jared, Jason, Jamie.

But he was taken in by Sear's father at age 5. I think he was orphaned or something." I tell

them.

"Are you worried Sear will come for you?" Blake asks me.

"Of course. Sear takes business very seriously and to him, I'm a business deal and you two got

in the way of that." I say.

"Don't worry, beautiful. Sear can come knocking on our doorstep anytime he likes. But there's

no way in hell he's ever take you from us." Rhett says, pulling me into him. He sits on the edge

of the tub and pulls me into his lap, facing forward. Blake steps in front of me, tilting my head

to look at him.

"He'll have us and the entire Anderson family to go through before that ever happens. He may have his magic fire, but we have magic too." Blake says.

"Our fathers were the strongest Alphas of their time. And our mother is a powerful caster."

Rhett whispers.

"We may not be able to wield magic like our mother, but it runs through our blood, making us much stronger than regular Alpha born wolves." Blake says.

"We heal incredibly fast. A little fire won't hurt us. We'll heal faster than he can burn us." Rhett

says.

"We'd die before letting him take you. You belong to us now." Blake whispers, getting close to my lips. This possessiveness should turn me off, but it's doing exactly the opposite. Blake's eyes flash to silver in a quick second before he growls.

"You smell that, brother? Our little mate is turned on just from talking." Blake says. Crap, I

forgot they can small my arousal. Rhett puts his mouth to my neck, the side Blake didn't mark. He lightly nips at a tender spot and I jump from the contact.

"There's my spot. The second you give me the go ahead, I'll claim you just as my brother did."

Rhett whispers.

"Blake made me wait forever. Are you going to make me wait too?" I ask breathlessly.

"I'll do it as soon as you tell me to." Rhett says.

"Then do it now." I say, almost pleading with him. In a split second, Rhett is standing and

throws me over his shoulder. I yelp in surprise and move my hair out of my eyes and he walks back into the bedroom. I look up to see a smirking Blake.

"You asked for it, love. And for the record, I'm the gentle one between the two of us. Rhett has

experience." Blake says with a smug look on his face. My eyes go wide.

Rhett throws me off his shoulder and onto the bed. He crawls on top of me, a hungry expression in his eyes. And I know exactly what he wants to satisfy that hunger. "Don't worry, sweetheart. I'll be gentle. The first time, at least." Rhett smirks at me.

"The first time?" I ask quietly. Rhett leans in close to me, his breath on my skin.

"Oh, Selenia. You didn't think you were leaving this room today, did you?" He says. My eyes go

wide.

F**k, what did I get myself into?
