ALPHA KING JOSH'S POV

"You all must have sensed the presence of another Alpha King in the pack yesterday," I stated. "There is no course for alarm but we all know to prepare and always be ready just in case." My warriors nodded. They didn't say a word to interrupt my speech but they found a way to respond to me.

"Alpha King Killian came for an impromptu visit and request that might put the two territories in tight space. Starting today, we will be training hard for unforeseen battles and Beta Adam will inform you all of the new formations. The patrol of the Royal Pack territory will be doubled and some of you will be dispatched to the far east mineral field by noon to inform those that are there of all the latest development."

I announced.

"We have to be careful and determined, The Eastern Territory can be deadlier than the most poisonous snake."

I added and concluded my speech. My warriors roared in agreement. I was pleased.

Adam supported me, "Thank you, Alpha King for taking action immediately. We appreciate your devotion to the Royal Pack and to the territory at large." My Beta bowed to me before facing the warriors, "All new information about formations and border patrol will be disseminated soon. Do we have any questions before we begin our training?"

No one signaled to ask a question so I concluded that there was no question as I said, "Let's begin our regular training first before we move to the tedious preparation for battle. Be ready to spend more hours than usual on this field and ignore the sun." "Let's do this!"

Adam hooted, motivating the warriors. I could see Eric looking like a ghost among the warriors. Eric wasn't a warrior but because he handles most of my business finance and others, I have made it compulsory for him to train with the warriors so he can be able to defend himself when needed.

I knew he probably hated me for this but my business protection comes first.

"Let's start with-"

I began to speak again but a hand shot up all of a sudden, grabbing my attention.

I asked, "Do you have a question, Nora?"

"No, My King." Nora answered with a smile. Does she ever get sick of smiling?

"Why did you raise your hand if you didn't have any questions?"

Adam gritted. He stunned me with his reaction. I mean, wasn't he the same person that was shaking with worry when Nora got injured?

"What is the problem, Nora?"

I asked gently unlike my Beta and Nora smiled again as she responded, "I thought I should call your attention to the fact that we have a new member, My King."

My eyes furrowed while Max grumbled about something in my head.

"And it will be welcoming of us if we acknowledge the new members by performing the welcome party for her."

Nora added and at first I was confused until she mentioned the pronoun "Her".

"She is obviously referring to Rose, Josh."

Max cleared my confusion.

"Please make way for the newest addition, guys." Nora etched and the warriors split into two parts or sides, creating a path for Rose to walk through but she simply stood in the same spot she has been ever since we arrived here. "What do you say to the welcome party, My King?"

Nora asked me with a smile while Rose folded her arm under her breasts and grimaced at me. I stared fearfully at Rose because I knew better than anyone that the so-called welcome party wasn't exactly a party. It was more or less a fight used to determine what rank a new warrior would be.

There were three ranks within the warriors despite the gender difference. The best warriors rank consisted of the strongest of the group. The second rank had been named "potential warriors". This group was made up of warriors that had great potential to become one of the best warriors.

The last rank on the other hand was called, "Aspiring warriors". This group consisted of the weakest warriors. They weren't exactly seen as warriors yet. They were still aspirants training to join the League of the best warriors. If the aspirant warriors were in other packs or territory, they would be considered strong but in my pack, the bar has been raised so high.

"I say we postpone that, Warrior Nora. Rose isn't a warrior and even if she wants to join, she is still recovering from-"

I tried to save Rose but she finally said something after keeping mute for like forever, "I want to join the warriors, Alpha King and the welcome party sounds like it would be fun."

I shook my head even though the competition would be a good way for me to find out more about Rose's strength and bloodline. "You can't make an entry now, Rose. When you recover, you will be welcomed officially."

I assumed I had made myself clear but Nora voiced, "What if I welcome her, My King? I might be a skilled warrior but fortunately for Rose, I am also recovering. Let me welcome her."

"I can't allow that, Nora. You both should be resting, in fact."

I voiced.

However, Rose breathed, "I want her to welcome me."

Oh, dear!

I mentally facepalmed myself, assuming that Rose didn't know what she was getting herself into. During the welcome duel, I as the King didn't have the power to interfere until the duel ended.

Warriors get nasty with each other during this particular duel and pick on newbies to determine their strength. I didn't want any of that for Rose.

What was I thinking when I brought her here? I made up my mind to stand my ground and postpone the duel but Adam announced the opposite before I could say my mind.

"That's great. It will be a great way for us all to rewind before we start proper training."

Adam announced and added, "Let's Welcome Rose!"

The warriors roared happily and just like that the welcome duel began.

I couldn't stop it but I could kill my Beta...
