ROSE'S POV

"Stop right there!"

My sneaky attempt was noticed, unfortunately. I squeezed my eyes shut and cussed under my breath but didn't stop walking around the throne room.

Cali snorted, "I told you now was a bad time. And as I said, the visitor isn't Alpha Richard. All you needed to do was inhale and you would have figured that out but your stubborn a*s wouldn't listen to me." Cali's tongue-lashing moment was cut short when a fierce and unknown voice barked, "Drag her into the throne room!"

F**k!

Who could that be?

Fear has obviously gotten me into trouble. I could finally smell the thick tension in the air. If I had known I would have been seen from the throne room, I would have crawled my way out of here.

I mean, whether the visitor was Alpha Richard or not, I still had to leave, and after the argument, Alpha King Josh and I had before he left me in the plain room, it was obvious that I had to run away before the oath started taking effect on me. And before Alpha Richard contacted me... Because sooner or later, he would contact me. That was certain.

"Should I run?"

I asked my wolf beast fearfully but she countered, "Don't bother. The wolves coming behind you are stronger. From their scents, they will catch you before you can take two steps."

I hissed defeatedly when the throne room door opened with a loud noise.

Clearly, I had missed my chance and I gave up on escaping. Momentarily.

The wolves who appeared to be strong warriors soon reached me and they pushed me toward the throne room- the same hall where the last Royal party of the Northern Territory was held.

Instinctively, I cast my eyes to the marble floor of the hall just to avoid the Alpha King's gaze. However, my nostrils made his presence, and anger known as his scent invaded them.

"There are two Alpha Kings in the hall, Rose." Cali chimed, informing me of the situation in the hall. "And they don't seem to agree with each other. Be careful or be careless with your words so we can be killed here."

Getting killed now doesn't sound like a bad idea but that didn't stop the cold hands of fear from grabbing my heart and giving it a firm squeeze.

Perhaps I should hold my tongue in their presence.

Eventually, I was released from the forceful push.

"Now, who do we have here?"

The fierce voice that demanded that I be dragged to the throne room, muttered. Was that mockery in his voice or was I imagining things?

Before I could get answers, I was roughly kicked and forced to get on all four... Like a dog.

Cali snorted, "I get on all four all the time. Does that make me a dog?"

My wolf beast couldn't get her answer also. Perhaps I would have joked with her if someone in the throne room didn't bark at me. "Show your respect to the Alpha King of the Eastern territory!" Oh, dear goddess!

"He is Alpha King Josh's brother!" Cali exclaimed, beating me to it as my eyes widened yet remained fixed on the floor.

"Treat her like a lowlife again and I will have your eyes gouged out of your empty skull."

Those words were released harshly by Alpha King Josh and I nearly cower at the sound. Never had I heard him speak like he was close to killing someone.

He has always been gentle with me.

Seemed that way after I heard him threaten the warrior that kicked me to the floor.

"You are threatening my man in my presence because of a woman?"

The voice that I had come to recognize as that of Alpha King Josh's brother, boomed ferociously.

Alpha King Josh responded, "The same man that treated my subject like a piece of shit! Perhaps it's time to make it clear that I am merely hosting you here, Killian." Alpha King Josh proved to me once again that he had been gentile all the times he was with me. I mean, his current voice could have easily made a crack in the wall. "Rise to your feet this instant!"

A few seconds later, Alpha King Josh's anger was directed at me and I shivered but ignored him because I wouldn't want to get between him and his brother, Alpha King Killian. "Allow me to show my respect, Alpha King Killian. It's an honor to be in your presence-"

"I told you to get the hell off the damn floor!" My sincere attempt to appease Alpha King Killian was cut short by an infuriated voice from Alpha King Josh.

Immediately, I scrambled to my feet. Rather than be scared of Alpha King Josh, I felt myself getting angry too. It was weird and crazy but I was mad at him for yelling at me.

The moment I got back on my feet, our eyes met. His dark eyes had become darker and his features were unfriendly.

Our intense staring moment was interrupted by Alpha King Killian, "Now you are stopping her from respecting me, the second eldest son of the First Alpha King."

He added, "How far will you go to-"

However, Alpha King Josh ended his statement halfway, "I believe we are done here, brother. It's high time you return to your territory. Our father divided the land for the best reasons and obviously, keeping us apart is one of his numerous reasons." If I didn't know better, I would have concluded that the Alpha Kings before me weren't biological brothers or perhaps step-siblings. Their hostile exchange reminded me of the relationship between Melissa and me.

But they were the sons of their father. Every wolf knew that fact.

"I will leave, Joshy." Alpha King Killian uttered tightly and Alpha King Josh's fists tightened as he scowled at his brother.

I didn't realize what the problem was until later in the future and I made use of that particular name "Joshy" like it was initially made for me.

Well, that happened later.

At the moment, Alpha King Killian added, "But not until I get to know the woman that made my brother a man. She must have been a good f*uck for you to be all worked up or is she your mate?"

I could tell that Alpha King Killian was a troublemaker. He made me regret not staying in the plain room until later when my escape plan would have worked perfectly.

"Now this one reminds me of Alpha Richard." Cali mumbled through the mind link.

I agreed with her at the same time Alpha Kiing Killian murmured, If she is not your mate, brother, I would like to have her and verify how good she is in bed-"

I gasped and staggered backward as disbelief clouded my mind. For a second I was terrified that Alpha King Josh would want to please his brother.

I was scared that I might move from being a neglected housewife to becoming an Alpha King sex slave...

Even with Alpha King Josh who had shown me the oath to become a woman, I wouldn't want to be his Sex Slave... Never! "Watch it, Killian!"

Instead of giving me away, Alpha King Josh gritted at his brother and he pushed me behind him, protecting me. I suppose.

"Or what, Joshy?" Alpha King Killian countered. "What will you do to me if I don't watch it? All I did was request for her to pleasure me like she must have done with you. Don't be selfish, Brother-/" To my and everyone's surprise, Alpha King Josh exclaimed possessively, "She is Mine."

My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets after those three words were said by the man that has offered me his hand and help.

I was shocked that he would claim me to save me from his brother. Was he that into me? Was the connection he felt that strong?

"Do you understand now?" Alpha King Josh added with so much confidence. "This woman belongs to me and also, the mineral field is mine"

It was hard to explain the expression on Alpha King Killain's face. He was looking defeated but I could also see victory in his eyes. He was a complex man that repelled me.

Alpha King Josh said with a tone of finality, "It's a disgrace that you won't leave my territory with what you desire and with gifts. I hope we won't cross paths for as long as possible."

Alpha King Josh was holding himself back. It was obvious that he was fighting the urge to punch his brother while Alpha King Killian made it obvious that he was on a mission to provoke his younger brother.

"I can promise you that we will cross paths again soon." Alpha King Killian replied and his dark eyes found mine behind his brother's shoulder.

Unlike Alpha King Josh whose dark orbs were pretty and captivating, Alpha King Killian's dark eyes were creepy and repulsive.

"And I believe our fates have been tied."

Alpha King Josh stated, staring straight into my eyes. That made it difficult to decide if he was talking to me or still countering his brother.

Regardless of who the statement was directed at, Alpha King Josh responded, "I doubt that. The moon goddess is quite sensible. She would know better than to tie our fates."

With that said, Alpha King Josh concluded, "I apologize, Killian but I won't be able to see you out. I leave that to my Beta. As you can see, I have other important matters to attend to."

Alpha King Killan smirked while Alpha King Josh intertwined our hands, nodded, and started pulling me away... Back to the direction of the plain room.

His hold was tight and his pace was fast... It was as if he was walking me to my deathbed.

"Where are you taking me-" I stuttered when we passed the door to the plain room.

Coldly and angrily, he said, "Oh, you will see."

I swallowed hard.
