The Sweet Pursuit by Golden Autumn -
Chapter 231
Zeke smiled and asked, "What if she refuses to come?" Sherman's smile started fading little by little, and his eyes were cold. He slowly said, "Then you should kneel down and beg her!"
Zeke was stunned for a moment, wondering if Sherman was joking. However, the room gradually became quiet. The group of people who were laughing earlier heard something was amiss in Sherman's tone, and they looked at each other in dismay. They wondered what was up with the sudden change in Sherman's expression. When Sherman was celebrating his birthday, a few of them were there, but they had no idea that the woman who delivered the cake was called Suzy. Sherman's thin lips parted slightly. "Go. Kneel down and beg her to come over. If she's unhappy about it, you'll have to slap yourself once or twice to cheer her up. In short, she has to come here and she has to come here happily! As for you..." Sherman swept a cold, sinister look toward Winter and said, "If him kneeling isn't enough, you should kneel with him. You're going to go there and tell Suzy the bad things you said about her just now. I'll be asking Zeke later. If you miss a single word, I'll have someone throw you off the eighth floor!" Winter's face turned pale, and her whole body trembled. She had heard of Sherman's reputation before. He was an unruly person who did things completely based on his own preferences. If he said that he was going to throw her off, it was certainly not some alarmist talk. That was how evil he was!
Zeke's face turned white as a ghost as well. He looked at Cameron, trying to plead for help. Up until this point, he still had no idea what he had done wrong.
Cameron was completely helpless as well. He had warned him before, but Zeke was the one who was stupid enough not to get it. At this moment, he could only say, "Go now. Invite Ms. Shirley over!"
Judging by the way Cameron called her, Zeke finally understood that Suzy and Sherman knew each other!
He ought to give himself two slaps in the face. Then, he looked at Cameron again, wanting him to put in a couple of good words for him. Cameron frowned. "Well, hurry up! You wouldn't want to wait until Sher's really angry!" Zeke had no choice but to bite the bullet and nodded. He said carefully, "Rest assured, Sher! I'll definitely apologize to Ms. Shirley. I'll beg and plead with her to come here!" Afterward, he turned around and walked out. Winter hurriedly lowered her head and followed after him.
Everyone in the room was secretly shocked and rejoicing inwardly. Fortunately for them, they did not hop on the train and speak ill of Suzy with Zeke earlier.
Inside the lounge, Suzy was reading books and looking up some materials. Her work at Kelsen was not as busy, so she found another part-time job where she helped people revise the outline of their thesis. Her income here was even more than working as a server at Kelsen.
Luna and the two servers were there as well. They were drinking coffee and talking about the autumn jewelry that GK had just released.
While they were busy chatting, Zeke and Winter entered the door. Luma was facing the door and was the first to notice them. She called out to Zeke sweetly, "Mr. Yorks! Why are you here?"
Zeke's complexion was ashen, and he blatantly ignored her. He swept his gaze past everyone in the room before it finally landed on Suzy. Winter did not look that great either. She simply stood there, refusing to move. She waited for Zeke to walk over.
Zeke glared at Winter and told her to go first. The two stood still for three whole seconds. Winter did not dare to offend Zeke, so she simply walked over to Suzy, lowered her head, and said in a mutter, "I'm sorry, Suzy!" Suzy put down the book in her hand, turned her head, and asked in confusion, "What?"
Winter's face turned red for a while before it turned ashen again. Her facial features were all wrinkled together. She hesitated to say, "I have to apologize to you first. No matter what I say to you later, just don't get angry." Suzy's pitch-black eyes were akin to dark pools. "Spit it out."
