Chapter 176

Suzy raised her eyebrows. The man's dependence on smoking was not something he could simply quit cold turkey, so she could wait around for him to deliver ice cream to her.

It was her off day, so she did not need to go to Kelsen. Hence, Suzy changed her clothes and went to dinner with George.

The two went over to Hazel's Canvas Moon again. Hazel knew that Suzy was a fan of her tea, so she specifically made iced tea for her. However, before Suzy even had the chance to enjoy it, George spoke up and made Hazel change it into a hot beverage.

When Hazel walked out, Suzy blinked her eyes and muttered, "So, I can't eat ice cream and have any cold drinks?"

The man replied without the slightest hesitation, "Nope!"

Suzy grew dejected. "Isn't life less fun that way?"

George's voice became lower as he said slowly, "Can't the happiness I give you make up for it?"

When he spoke about such a thing in a deadpan manner, Suzy was startled for a while before she could react. It was as if her heart had been scalded. She lowered her eyes while muttering," How can that be the same?"

The man asked earnestly, "But which one do you prefer?"

Suzy felt choked up. She looked at the man with a moist pair of eyes. Her pretty face turned ashen as she blushed. Then, she quickly turned her head to look out the window.

She could not respond to his questions again. Otherwise, all of her thoughts would be corrupted by him.

An old lantern was lit under the window. Under the light, the man could clearly see the blush on the girl's ears. The corners of his lips slowly turned into a smile.

There was a begonia bush outside the window. Suzy leaned out to touch the begonia flowers. Then, someone happened to pass by in the yard. II was a young lad who seemed to be in his 20s. When he laid eyes on Suzy, he froze still in place.

He could not help but walk over and pluck a begonia flower for Suzy. "For you!"

Suzy did not accept it and merely said, "Thank you."

**Do you drop by often, Miss? May I have your phone number?" The guy rarely struck a conversation with a girl, but he mustered up all of his courage for this. His delicate face turned crimson under the light.

Suzy was about to refuse him when another window suddenly opened up. George stood there,

looked at the guy outside the window, and smiled softly, "Weren't you studying abroad? When did you come back?"

The guy was stunned for a moment, then his eyes brightened up. "Uncle George!"

Suzy was baffled. Did the two know each other?

George introduced him to her. "This is Hazel's son, Wade Keller."

Afterward, he introduced her to Wade, "A friend of mine, Suzy Shirley."

Wade's face was still red, and he smiled at her foolishly. "Hello there, Ms. Shirley."

Suzy smiled and nodded back.

Very soon, Wade came in and greeted George enthusiastically. Even his face was flushed with excitement. "I haven't seen you for a long time, Uncle George. I even asked my mother two days ago when you'd be coming over."

George smiled lightly. "Have you graduated?"

Wade nodded. "Yes, and I won't be leaving anymore. I plan on staying in River City with my

parents."

When he spoke, the corners of his eyes kept staring at Suzy. Then, he turned to look at her and asked tentatively, "Is she your girlfriend, Uncle George?"

Before George could respond, Suzy shook her head. "No."

The smile on Wade's face became more prominent. "You don't look like it either."

George suddenly asked, "In which way?"

Wade said bluntly, "Ms. Shirley looks like she's still in school, while you're almost 30 this year, Uncle George. If you got yourself such a young girlfriend, wouldn't it be like a May December relationship?"

Suzy glanced at George before lowering her eyes and stifling back laughter.

George's smile faded slightly, and he said jokingly, "Don't you know that men like younger women?"

Suzy was stunned and felt that these words sounded a little familiar,

Wade grinned, revealing his snow white teeth. His eyes were filled with admiration as he said, "But that's other men. You're not like them, Uncle George!"

George smiled, "Don't think of me as someone who stands out from the masses, I'm still an ordinary person, after all."

At this time, Hazel came in to serve their food. She was surprised to find Wade here. "Why are you here?"
