Her phone let out a ping, and when Suzy opened the text, she noticed that it was from Jarold Shirley. He texted: [Thank you for helping me, Zee. I'm stuck in traffic. Head on in without me.] Suzy slowed her footsteps down, thinking about how she should greet George Laine in a while.

After three years of marriage, the two had never met each other. Suzy was rather certain that George had never agreed to the marriage. In fact, he might have opposed this marriage.

Suzy would not blame George for this. Back then, the Shirley family's business encountered a crisis, and the Shirley family brazenly asked the Laine family to fulfill a past marriage agreement to unify the two families through marriage. As the Laine family's eldest son was already married, the marriage agreement then fell on their second son, George's, shoulders instead. It was reasonable for him to be an unwilling party.

Naturally, the Laine family was not the type of family to be taken advantage of. They gave the Shirley family 50 million dollars as dowry to help them overcome their difficulties. However, they also put forward the condition that the marriage was to be automatically absolved after three years.

Three years ago, Suzy had not reached the legal age for marriage in Cantent Nation, so the two went to Vogaz to apply for the permit. Precisely speaking, neither of them personally went as both parties sent someone from their sides to take each other's documents and settle the marital matter.

As soon as the two got married, George headed for Marriot Nation and only recently came back. It was precisely three months before the dissolution of their marriage. His resistance could not have been more obvious.

However, Suzy's father had brought her here again to be at George's mercy for the sake of their business.

Suzy smiled in self-mockery. How would she introduce herself to George a while later? 'Hello, Mr. Laine! I'm your wife?!'

Would he even look her straight in the eye?

It was said that Geroge was a famous evil tyrant in River City before he went to Marriot Nation. He was known to do things ruthlessly and decisively. He could command both the police and the gangsters.

Nevertheless, Suzy saw George on a financial channel on TV a few days ago. He was different from her initial impression of him. The guy was dressed in an expensive business suit. Although his posture was arrogant, his gestures were still elegant and calm.

Suzy was hoping that George could be as tolerant and self-restrained as he was on TV today. At least, she hoped he would not make things too difficult for her.

The entire Tray Hotel was decorated majestically in a regal style. It had a classical atmosphere, as though one were in a castle. Suzy headed to the third floor of Lotus Pavilion according to the room number Jarold had given her. The third floor was full of suites. The wooden floors were carpeted, the hallway was dimly lit, and it was

After walking to the right suite, Suzy took a deep quiet breath. She raised her hand and knocked on the door.

The door was left unlocked. When she knocked on it, the mahogany door carved with golden leaves opened directly, making Suzy feel slightly taken aback.

Could it be that Geroge was waiting for her?

Out of courtesy, Suzy knocked a few more times.

Yet, there was no answer.

Suzy raised her eyebrows slightly, pushed the door open, and took two steps inside. She found that there was only a dim yellow light switched on at the entrance. It was dark inside the suite. There was no one inside?

The suite was exceptionally large with a living room in the middle as well as a lounge and a bedroom on opposite sides.

Suzy had already walked to the living room when she started having a bad feeling about this. When she was about to turn around, Suzy suddenly heard the sound of water running in the direction of the bedroom. A pained deep groan sounded out at the same time, "Come in here!"

Suzy's senses told her that she should turn around and leave without hesitation. However, after standing still in the dark for three seconds, she still walked toward the bedroom.

"Is that you, Mr. Laine? Are you alright?" Suzy pushed the bedroom door open and asked in a low voice.

Suddenly, an arm stretched out of nowhere and immediately dragged her into the bathroom. The man pressed against the wall with one hand and grabbed her neck with the other. It was clear from his voice that he was suppressing slight pain, but he still sounded cold and furious. "How dare you drug me?! Do you wish to die?!"

There was still light shining in through the window in the living room, but in the bathroom, it was simply pitch-black.

Suzy endured this without fighting back. Although she was held in a chokehold, she said to him with a hoarse and calm voice, "It wasn't me!"

"Then who are you?!"

The man seemed to have been drenched in cold water for a long time as his whole body was cold. However, his breath was hot. Suzy was getting slightly dazed from the alternating hot and cold temperatures.

In the darkness, the two stared at each other silently. The man's breathing became heavier with time, and he seemed to be enduring himself to the utmost extent. The hand that was holding her throat suddenly hooked around her neck. He lowered his head and kissed her forcefully.

With his ice-cold lips, it was simply overbearing!

Suzy's eyes widened in an instant. She raised her leg and pushed it hard against the man's body.

The man's strength and speed were certainly above hers. His long legs pressed down on her knees, and he said hoarsely, "Help me out. I'll give you whatever you want later!"

Suzy quietly gasped for air. In any case, she never expected to encounter such a situation. George Laine was actually drugged by someone?

Amidst the darkness, the man's breath enveloped all her senses. Suzy was still contemplating whether to help him or tell him to find someone else. However, the man's overwhelming kisses had taken over her.

...

Suzy was not able to recall how the two got from the bathroom to the bed in the bedroom. When she was still torn between resistance and obedience, the man could no longer hold himself back and pulled her into the abyss together with him.

It was not like Suzy had never thought about encountering such a scene after they got married, but she never expected it to happen under these circumstances.

After going through different layers of the domain in the abyss, Suzy felt as though she had been through something big and the time passed seemed much longer than three years.

...

When they stopped, someone happened to come in and approach the bedroom. "Mr. Laine?"

"Don't come in!" The man's voice was low with hints of languidness from being satisfied.

There was no longer any sound from the outside.

After a while, George got up, put on his bathrobe, and walked out without looking at the woman on the bed.

Suzy pulled the blanket to her neck and saw the lights being switched on outside. A ray of light came in through the unlocked door.

George walked to the living room and leaned on the sofa. His chiseled handsome face did not show the slightest hint of emotions, but there was a trace of languidness in the bottom of his eyes.

His assistant stepped forward and asked, "Are you alright, Mr. Laine?"

George left rather suddenly from their after-work drinking party and disallowed anyone from following him. After hearing no news from George for two whole hours, his assistant felt ill at ease and came up to see what he was doing. He seemed to have heard two people huffing earlier?

George knitted his eyebrows together and said, "I'm fine!"

The assistant recovered from his imagination and said, "Jarold Shirley has reserved a room in Snow Pavilion, number 1009. He asked you to meet him at nine. It's almost time now."

George simply asked, "Which Jarold Shirley?"

As soon as he said this, he quickly recalled the person and asked indifferently, "Hasn't it been three years already?"

The assistant replied, "It's still a few months away."

George sneered, "What's the difference?"

The assistant said, "Mr. Jarold has called several times about wanting to see you. He perhaps has something to ask of you, Mr. Laine."

Thinking of the woman inside his room, George felt indescribably irritable. "He's sold his daughter once before and he's planning on selling her again? How brazen of him to think that I'd entertain him again and again! Or does he think his daughter is some expensive nobility?! I'm not meeting him!"

His last few words were ruthless and cold!

While inside the bedroom, Suzy could clearly hear the conversation outside. Her initially blushing face quickly turned ashen instead. If George Laine were to find out that Jarold Shirley's daughter was the one lying on his bed at this moment, the word 'sold' he used might be even more ironic!

She endured the discomfort and got out of bed. She found her clothes and put them on. Then, Suzy took out something from her pocket and placed it on the table.

Without looking back, she went straight to the balcony, pushed the window open, and jumped.

The woman spun a few times before landing. In an instant, she was already on the bluestone road a few meters away. Her slender figure quickly disappeared in the dim yellow light. George and his assistant talked about something else outside the room. Finally, George instructed, "Investigate who got their hands dirty at the party today."

The assistant was stunned for a moment. Remembering the sound he heard just now, he quickly reacted with a cold face, "Yes, sir!"

George got up and went back into the bedroom. He glanced at the big bed in the dark and said in a low voice, "Get up. Take some money and leave. Never appear in front of me again!" When no one answered, George frowned and switched on the lights. Under the dim light, the bed was messy, but the woman from earlier was gone!

He turned around to go to the bathroom, but it was also empty.

A hint of surprise flashed across his long and narrow eyes. Was he fooling around with a ghost earlier?

However, he could clearly see the red stain on the bed.

George frowned and turned to look at the table opposite the bed. He slowly approached it and picked up something from under the vase. His face instantly turned dark.
