Chapter 18

Vera’s point of view:

He hates my father and I wonder why.

But the idea that he hated me while knowing that I was this man’s daughter saddened me.

While I was focused on my task, I remained distracted and he took advantage of it.

Sure enough, he flipped the tables, causing my back to hit the wall. Then he placed both of my hands above my head and smiled smugly at me.

Then he placed his head in the crook of my neck before placing lingering k****s on my chin, causing tingles throughout my body.

Before he could continue, I gave him a hard blow between the legs, causing him to step back, cursing.

“That bitch Vera!” Do you want to have little ones or not? »

I just smiled and crouched down to his height as he lay on the ground, writhing in pain.

“Who said it had to be with you?” »

My words made his beast growl at me. I sat on him, holding him as he struggled.

Placing his hands on my waist, he turned around to pin me underneath him.

Besides, it got a little rough and my head hurt from where it was hit on the floor.

So, it got the adrenaline pumping in me.

My long hair came loose from the bun to tousle around me in a halo. His eyes moved to my lips and he lowered his head.

In fact, he didn’t realize that b***d was oozing from the wound he had just caused me.

Just as his lips were about to touch mine, I turned my head to the side.

Besides, my wolf felt pain when he hurt us, even if it wasn’t intentional and he wasn’t aware of it.

I didn’t raise my concerns, but tried to ignore it.

He fumed in anger, and yet he continued to k**s me on the cheek.

His hands found their way into my tank top, causing an explosion of tingles.

I placed my arms around his neck, locking my fingers behind and Logan smiled, thinking I was willing.

He kissed me deeply, enjoying doing it.

His finger was circling my waist, he moved it higher so that I suddenly froze.

He told himself that he was winning his case, if only he could know that I was letting him…

“Give it up, Vera… Let me take control,” he said. he said, eyes misty and a victorious smile on his lips.

“You would like that, my companion. »

And before he could realize it, my grip around his neck tightened, my knee pushing him up, forcing his entire body into a somersault. He landed hard on the ground, his back taking the fall.

Without missing a beat, I tackled him to the ground again. So, I locked his neck in a death grip.

Just a little more pressure and he’ll be dead.

My hands were actually shaking as I held him, but he didn’t make a single cry of pain.

Sweat appeared on his forehead, but he refused to surrender.

Instead, he was holding my wrists when suddenly his expression changed.

He froze, his grip on my wrists losing.

“Are you hurt…?” Why do I smell b***d? he asked, his voice cracking until the end.

It seemed like he was ashamed of himself.

His eyes searched me to try to find the source.

Was he crazy? Did he want to die or what?

He was at a standstill, facing mind-numbing pain, and he asked me if I was bleeding?

“Surrender!” Shit ! »

I shouted, but he just looked at me. This moron!

“Don’t hurt your mate!” Leave him alone ! »

My wolf was struggling in my mind, she hated me for doing this.

I finally gave up.

I made him cough continuously.

Having frustrated him, I almost shouted at him.

“Do you want to die!” ? I could have killed you! “, I shouted, but he didn’t care. Instead, once his coughing stopped, he stood up to come behind me and hold my shoulders.

” What are you doing ? “

Shh,” he said and then sat me down while he examined the back of my head.

” What ? There’s nothing, leave me! »

“Keep quiet, Vera. It’s b***d. Why am I like this? My control is really shit these days,” he said and afterwards I felt a surge of energy inside me.

He was still using them, the healing powers of his Lycan on me.

“You don’t need it. It… It’ll heal in a while. »

But he continued, without stopping.

Once finished, he stepped back, turning his back on me. He ran his hand through his hair.

“I’m so sorry,” he said and I touched my head to realize that the wound was completely healed.

As far as I know, when Lycans heal, they use their own energy to do so.

It had to be drained, the wound was not small considering the pain it caused in my skull.

“I’m sorry…I…shit!” How could I! »

He made his fist and hit the wall. This blow made a big hole in the wall.

I just looked at him, perplexed.

I wanted to confront him. In fact, I wanted to show him that I was okay. But he was muttering something to himself.

“Logan?” »

I tried to get his attention, but he didn’t hear me. He hit the wall again and again, making his knuckles bleed.

“Logan!” I shouted this time, and he stopped. His hand stopped in the air to look at me.

His furious eyes calmed as I approached him to hold his bloody knuckles in my hand.

” Stop that. I’m doing well. »

He just looked at me and I nodded. I gave him a small smile. He closed his eyes and lowered his head, finally delivering a violent blow. I felt the walls of the room literally shake.

The fan was moving from the ceiling.

And that was it. He stopped and silence reigned between us before he whispered under his breath.

“You were right, Vera. We men are all the same. I tried to be different…And look where I am now…”, he said with a sad little laugh and something pierced my heart.

“For me to hurt you?” »

“But Log…”

He showed me his hand. He shook his head no. He asked me not to say anything.

“I won’t force you to do anything, Vera. You don’t need to give in to anything. I’m going to lose this vote anyway… It doesn’t matter. » .

He was about to leave when suddenly he stopped.

“Tell me until tomorrow what you want, Vera. I will respect your choice. Now you no longer need to take orders from anyone. Not even me. »

A sudden surge of happiness came over me. Did he really mean it? My wolf was moaning in pain, but I was more than happy.

“You’re free to go, Vera. »

And that was it, he left, leaving me stunned.

Had he just…did he really do that?

We had to celebrate! I could go back to my old life!

Without him following me?

I ran my hands through my hair. A big smile on my face, could I live like a Rebel now?

Oh my God, it was the best day of my life!

“My companion is injured. Go see your companion! », said my stupid wolf to me. Then my smile turned into a grimace.

It was a way to ruin my moment.

“Stop it, you wolf!” You can’t see me happy for once! »

However the thought resurfaced, did he really let me go like that?

I had never heard of such a thing before.

So why had he done it? There really was something.

Ignoring him, I started packing.

I was leaving, finally!

Logan’s POV:

“Alpha. Luna is here,” Ben said and I nodded at him. The word Luna resonated in my head like a mockery.

She never wanted to be my Luna, she just wanted to be free.

And I would have accepted his wish, until yesterday.

Just before the news that changed everything.

Her scent hit me before she walked in and I remembered the first time I met her.

How surprised I was to see her.

I saw her holding a duffel bag and I clenched my fist.

His decision was to leave.

What did I expect? That she chooses me despite everything?

“Good evening Logan. »

That name coming out of his mouth played with my mind and I turned my back on him.

I contemplated the landscape outside.

If only she hadn’t…if only.

“Please, Vera, tell me it’s not you… Anyone but you.” »

“Sit down Vera,” I barely said. My grip on the chair tightened.

” It’s good. It will take a few minutes anyway,” she said and each word stabbed my heart like a knife. She really wanted to leave.

I wanted to ask these questions so badly but I refrained, letting her continue.

She remained speechless and shocked, while my wolf stirred in my mind.

He hated me for saying that, when she had dared to tell the harsh truth in a matter of minutes.
