The Possessive Alpha -
Chapter 65
DAMON POV
“You didn’t listen to me, biscuit,” I whisper into Elle’s ear, letting my hot breath fan her neck and tease her senses. My fingers are coated in her juices as she recovers from the o****m I didn’t give her permission to have. “I didn’t give you permission to come all over my fingers.”
*THUD, THUD, THUD* can be heard throughout the room like f*****g clockwork. ‘If it’s one of your little friends, just kill them and be done with it.’ Slade growls, annoyed that we were disturbed once again.
Elle’s harmonious giggle fills the space between as she readjusts the shirt and boxers, inching off the bed to answer the door. “What so funny?” I ask, my curiosity peaking.
“I find it ironic how you’re the one who always gets punished in the end,” she replies quickly, teasing me with her words; with lightning speed, I grab her throwing her over my shoulder. Her squeal of laughter engulfs me as I carry Elle back to bed.
“Whoever it is,” I shout through the door, “go away. If it’s housekeeping, I’ll pay triple for the room.” Like a tidal wave blowing at me in full force, I have multiple voices trying to gain access to a mind link at once, causing me to wince momentarily.
Standing over Elle lying on the bed, I hold up my hand before opening the mindlink to these intruders, ‘WHAT?!’ I scream, annoyance filling my veins like it’s being imported through an IV bag. Will I ever have a moment alone?
‘Jonah is demanding to see you,’ Andrew’s voice rings outs, his Beta aura rocketing through me, letting me know the seriousness of the situation. ‘He is becoming rather insistent.’
“What’s going on?” Elle asks, sensing the drop in the atmosphere, her eyes leaving heat trails along my face as she studies it, looking for clues to her answer her question.
‘What the hell does he want?’ I snarl; Slade and I have grown tired of him sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong.
‘Elle,’ Andrew responds, ‘he wants her in the lobby in five minutes to return to New Moon. His wolf has been in charge the entire time. Eli would never say it, but I can see the worry in his eyes.’
“Hello? Earth to Damon?” Elle asks, her hand waving frantically in front of my face trying to gain my attention while I finish my conversation with Andrew,
‘I’ll be down in ten minutes,’ my voice colder than dry ice, pissed that I can’t do all the things I planned to while having Elle in this bedroom. ‘Oh, and have Charity bring Elle clothes, please.’ I close the link, not requiring a response from him, while I gather whatever clothes I can from the suitcase.
“What the hell is going on?’ Elles demands while resting back on her knees. Goddess, what I’d do to her in that position if we weren’t constantly interrupted.
“Jonah is in the lobby demanding to see you,” I growl; he didn’t care when he left her alone all night in a random club, “Don’t worry, Charity should be here soon with your clothes.”
“Why does Jonah care?” I ask aloud; it’s a question that’s been nagging at me since our second meeting. Our first ended in such a disaster I can’t understand why he keeps trying. “It doesn’t make any sense. We have no chemistry, and he seems uninterested during every interaction.”
“Theo, Andrew, Matt. and I have been wondering the same thing,” I exhale, trying to release the tension in my shoulder with little luck. As if she can identify my sadness, Elle grabs my hand in comfort, her touch slowly relaxing every inch of my body.
“What’s his end goal?” she asks, biting her fingers, her mind turning circles as she tries to figure out Jonah’s place in the complex puzzle of her past. “Is he helping that old man from the theater? Or has he been working for someone else? Himself maybe?”
Before I can answer, the small rap of three sharp knocks interferes with my thought process, earning an award-winning smile from Elle.
“Poor Alpha,” she taunts, her eyes shifting to black, “you never get to finish.” The glint in her eye could give the devil a run for its money.
Prowling towards her like the predator I am, I grab her chin in mine, bringing her eyes to mine, leaning in close to her lips, keeping a small distance, I murmur, “Trust me, princess, you’ll regret teasing me when I finally get my claws into you.” Releasing her chin, I walk away, answering the door, to find Matt and Charity on the other side glaring at each other with enough hate to start a war, their heads snapping to attention when they see me standing there.
“Did I interrupt something?” I ask, raising an eyebrow at the two standing there, looking like they got caught doing something scandalous. “Are those Elle’s clothes?” I ask, nodding to the pile in her hands. Passing them to me, Charity remains silent, refusing to look at Matt the entire time.
“Now, you two can head down to the lobby. Elle and I will meet you soon,” I command, Elle’s devilish mood rubbing off on me. I Flash a smirk at Matt, who has been watching Charity retreat further down the hallway. “Go on,” I insisted once more, “follow her.” I nudge him forward before stepping back into the room and closing the door.
*******************************
Fifteen minutes later, Elle and I cross into the lobby from the elevator, immediately finding the group among the other visitors in the hotel. Jonah is pacing back and forth in an anxious manner while the others from our large group watch with apprehension.
Jonah is upset, his hair disheveled, and his clothes wrinkled. The anxiety hovering over everyone is so heavy even Superman would struggle to lift it. Before anyone can say a word, I tell them to follow me as I continue my journey across the lobby to the conference room, wanting to keep us away from nosy humans. Once everyone filed inside, I turned to glare at Jonah.
“What did you need so badly you interrupted my morning?” I ask, noticing the dark purple bags under his eyes and the pale cheeks.
“Elle needs to ride back with my men and me,” Jonah says, his voice gruff and the alpha aura spreading throughout the closed room. Slade pushes forward, at the edge of my subconscious, preparing for a fight.
“Like hell she does,” I snort, holding in the laugh threatening to boil over, “what makes you think I’d let her leave with you after what happened last night? She left the f*****g club, and you had no clue.”
“Your mother and father put me in charge of transporting Elle to and from the city this weekend,” Jonah grunts as he steps closer, trying to put me in my place. “So step aside, pup, and let me do my damn job.”
In a flash, Slade pushes forward at the insult, my hand wrapping around Jonah’s neck, holding it in a vice grip forcing him to his knees in gasping breaths as he struggles for oxygen. In a low growl, “You forfeited that right the first night you left Elle alone while you drank at the bar. I don’t give a s**t what my parents asked you to do for Elle. I AM HER ALPHA! Do you f*****g understand? Now, I suggest you go back to Diamond Claw before I f*****g kill you and take over your pack.” I snear, his face blue from oxygen deprivation, neither of his men making a move to interfere, but based on the numbers, they are heavily outnumbered.
Rearing back, I launch my fist full force onto his face, enjoying the satisfaction of his easy downfall, flicking my black eyes to the beta and gamma in the corner, “get him the f**k out of my sight before I change my mind,” I growl, my tone coming out in a feral snarl, as the men drag the Alpha away from me.
