The Possessive Alpha
Chapter 100

DAMON POV

Barging into the packhouse with more force than necessary as the door slams into the wall behind me, startling the younger members sitting around the living room, parting like a shrapnel bomb when my fiery energy invades the space. “Alpha,” they mutter with their heads bowed from the force of my aura.

“Go home if you’re not a warrior,” Matt barks, hot on my heels, “warriors gather everyone here in forty-five minutes! Go!”

“Aye, Gamma!” I hear the warriors shout as my heavy footsteps keep thundering down the hall toward my father’s office. ‘Our office,’ Slade reminds me with a proud huff, enjoying the newfound strength we acquired with our win.

Shoving the door open, I find Andrew pacing wildly, a tired look on his face, with heavy purple bags under his eyes. Clean-cut Andrew looks worse than I have ever seen him in all the years I have known him; what the hell did he learn to have him so unhinged? Even calm and collected, Demetri is on edge as Andrews’s eyes shift back and forth to black as they fight for control.

“Beta,” I warn, throwing the manilla folder on the desk; regardless of the internal itch, I have to rip it open and finally learn the scheme of this grand plot once and for all. No, calming down Andrew, who never acts like this. He is always logical and collected in his thoughts and actions. “Breathe. Demetri, that’s enough,” I command, my full aura pouring onto him like a bucket of water.

“What do you know?” Matt throws in my win through competition, starting to settle on them, too, slowly gaining the full power of their bloodlines. “I don’t know what’s with you two idiots today, but we have people we all care about stuck with some crazy stalker. Goddess knows where they are, and you two can barely keep your s**t together!”

“Something isn’t right,” Andrew murmurs as his eyes bounce back and forth between us, causing both of our annoyed growls to rumble the room.

“Obviously,” Matt snaps, “that’s nothing new, now tell me something that is. I have a Luna to find and warriors to prepare.”

“I went to the warrior barracks,” Andrew starts, “hoping our future elites might tell me something that the elites are doing now, but they have nothing.”

“The elites wouldn’t tell them anything worth knowing anyways,” Matt includes shoving his hands in his pockets, his mind racing a million miles a minute.

“They didn’t, but Trent told me a piece of information we weren’t told,” Andrew says in a rush, his hand running through his hair while he tugs on the ends in frustration. “The Southerland twins patrolled where you were with Elle on the night of the Ball.”

“They weren’t supposed to,” I growl, not liking the direction this conversation is going. “I had purposefully put Trent in that position.”

“Well,” Andrew hurls, stepping closer to me, his anger rolling around in the space between us, pushing into me and bringing Slade to the forefront. “If you had bothered to tell Trent why the night was so f*****g important, we wouldn’t be in this goddamn mess!”

Matt steps in between us, hands on our chests as he pushes apart, a roar escaping him, as I stumble back, Slade’s desire to take over becoming too much to handle. “We just got our positions and this is how you two act?”

Using all of his strength, feet planted, he pushes two hot palms in my chest trying to keep me from attacking Andrew who isn’t fairing much better. The pressure from Slade to have the reigns nags at my mind like a child demanding a cookie.

As soon as his back is attention is turned I can hear Matt whisper anxiously, “oh, f**k.” Looking beyond him, Andrew’s shaking violently as he fights against the urge to shift. In the silence of Matt and I staring in shock we can hear the snap his bones break and reset.

Slade no longer waiting for permission as he demands control, my hand wrapping Andrews neck the bones shifting underneath my skin. Disturbing shivers running along my spin at feeling his bones shift and rebreak under my vice grip. Pushing him into the wall behind him, as my black eyes bore into his neither of us looking away, instead keeping our focus on each other.

“Submit!” Slade hurls at him, bearing down on him with an Alpha command, while Matt paces impatiently behind us wanting to get this show on the road and us on our way to find the girls. I can tell he is mildly panicking about Charity though he’d never admit it in a situation like this. “Demetri we cant find Theo if you don’t get your head out your a*s! Now SUBMIT!”

With a surge of forcefulness I slam him against the wall, in hopes of snapping Andrew and Demetri out of whatever psychotic break these two seem to be in. Honestly, I am surprised it took this long to happen. No one is that calm all the time and definitely not a wolf.

Holding him in place I wait until the bones start to settle underneath my palms, his cheast is heaving as if running a marathon while his eye slip between his normal shade and Demetri’s black. After a few more moments of tense silence, and his bones arrange themselves in the correct position. As he begins to return to normal my grip loosens, until I am sure he can keep himself in check.

Taking a step away from him, I turn to find Matt glaring at the two of us, his arms crossed over his chest while his deadly stare darts between both of us. The seriousness coming from Matt suffocating enough I almost think he became the Alpha somehow.

“Do you think Theo is your mate?” Matt asks, throwing the question the agitated room, asking something we never dared to before finding the answer none of our business.

“No,”Andrew admits begrudgingly as he fixes his disgruntled clothes, and ties to right his mess of hair sitting atop his head. “I don’t think Theo is my mate.”

“Then what the hell has you acting like a jackass?” I huff, giving him the same kind of stare that matches with Matt while we continue to scold the Beta via stern looks and deadly eyes.

“I don’t think Theo is my mate,” Andrew grumbles looking between us with a scowl, clearly growing tired of the assumption of whatever is happening between them. “But we are bonded in some way. Demetri needs to get to him as soon as possible.”

“Well Demetri isn’t the only one who has someone missing!’ Matt hisses, as he points me and him as a subtle reminder that Charity, and Elle are wherever Theo is. “This is the last warning I’ll give you to pull your head out of your a*s before I lock you in the goddamn basement and handle this s**t myself!”

Matt’s entire demeanor changing from the fun loving jokster we had grown used to into the serious general as his warning sits between us like a threat. Crossing his arms over his broad chest he glares between us refusing to continue unless we nod in agreement with his demands. Once he is satisfied with our agreement, Matt continues with his questioning, picking up where we left earlier.

“So the Southerland twins switched patrols with Trent?” Matt asks his eyes scanning between us before nodding as Andrew, “anything else come out in your search?”

“”Goddess yes,” Andrew replies, “I went to the Southerland house to talk to the twins and they are gone.”

“Gone?” I ask, incredulous, “for f***s sake has everyone gone missing during my coma?”

“It seems so,” he babbles on, “So I went to Emma and Taylor’s house to see if they were there and could answer any questions.”

“Okay…” I comment, my voice training off as I wait for him to continue with his explanation, Slade perking up and on high alert.

“Apparently, they went to Diamond Claw to spend time with their mates,” Andrew hesistates, “because Victor is the new Gamma for the pack.”

“What?” Matt and I demand together, “Since when?” I ask while Matt wants to know what happened to Gamma Brad.

Hearing that Emma and Taylor, not only left New Moon pack but Victor is the new Gamma of Diamond Claw is making my stomach a hard ball of apprehension weighing me down. I know whatever Andrew tells me next I am not going to like it. “That’s not all,” Andrew says, purposefully avoiding our questions.

“Well, spit it out,” I snap, my patience growing thinner with each passing second while my mind spins trying to piece together the clues Andrew acquired through her mission for the day.

“I went to Diamond Claw to talk to the twins,” Andrew continues, “and to talk to Alpha Jonah only to find out he is no longer the Alpha. He stepped down and handed over the reigns to Eli and his mate, Maddie.”

“I don’t understand,” I comment puzzled why Jonah would step down to give his Beta the pack, which is an extremely rare things to happen.

“I don’t either,” Andrew confirms while he looks between us with sadness etched into his features, “but it can’t be a coincidence can it?”

“No,” I say, the giant wheels in my head turning as I try to fit the puzzle pieces of new information into the picture.

“You can’t be suggesting the Southerland twins abducted their cousin and best friend to hand over to a psychopath can you?” Andrew questions like he cannot believe that anyone would do that to family.

“No, I don’t,” I sigh, scrathcing the back of my neck while my feet pace the office and my mind works to fit together all the things I have learned over the last few years. As I wander the office the yellow manialla folder sitting in the middle of my desk calling my name.

Picking up the up the heavy folder, I gently rip the licked seal I reach inside to pull out the stack of papers kept inside. As I shuffle through the blank pages, before landing on the only one with a familiar scrawl covering the mostly blank space.

As I reread the single sentence left for me I can feel the fury bein to rise in my stomach while Slade howls uncontrollably in my mind. His howls so loud I can barely think as my hands wrap around the edge of my desk and throw it onto its side a bellow of fury escapes my chest. Andrew an Matt scurrying away to avoid being hit by the large oak desk.

Shoving the paper into Matt’s chest, I storm out of the room, my eyes pitch black as we race down the hallway looking for my intended targets. Matt and Andrews’ voices can be heard saying “Oh, f**k,” when they’ve read the simple sentence left for me to find.

Damon,

I’m sorry, I had to do this for me.
