The Palace Beast
Chapter 73 - His Confidence

Anubis is referring to the princess of Maxis. After he received the news that his lost book was found in Maxis, he has been keeping a watch on the princess without her knowing.

However, Horus visited Maxis when Set sent his canine creature to retrieve the lost book of Anubis. His reasons for opposing Set's moves were to avoid triggering a war between the gods of the Grecians and the Egyptian gods. One could tell that Maxis and the rest of the four kingdoms surrounding Maxis are Greece in origin but their forefathers sailed beyond the seas and found the new lands they shared amongst them and named after their names. During the Grecian Great War, four warriors are known as Maxis, Wex, Wessex, Uzex, and Kez sailed beyond the seas to escape death when the war was fierce. They took a good number of men and women and children to settle on these new lands they named after them.

Being Grecians by origin, the Grecians gods have never forgotten them and their eyes watch over them even though they are settled in a strange land far away from home.

The only thing that can trigger a war amongst the gods of Greece and the Egyptian gods is when they interfere in the lives of their people; which has been the reason why Horus showed up in Maxis to avoid the wrath of the Grecian gods upon the Egyptians because that's the very first people they will attack before moving to the gods.

Horus glances at Anubis. "We can't just walk into Maxis like that. You know what will happen when Zeus finds out. It will be war."

Anubis couldn't hold back his anger anymore. He lamented bitterly saying, "Hades has declared war on us by stealing souls that are meant to be in the afterlife and bring them to the underworld. We can't just turn a blind eye to this. If we don't act now, Set will kill more Egyptians and send their souls to Hades and Persephone. I don't care what Zeus will think of this. Is he blind that he can't see the actions of Hades and Persephone towards our people and a tyrant god, Set?" Egypt Dry Desert "I have heard what you have said," said Horus with his eyes fixed on Anubis as he asked sternly, "How will the bearer of your lost book help us to get to Hades and Persephone?"

Kingdom of Maxis It's been two weeks since Queen Afi and Drew was seized and locked up in the dungeon. Princess Bonnie has severally pleaded on her mother's behalf to his brother not to carry out the execution. This perhaps has been the reason why the execution is being delayed until the king finally makes up his mind on what to do with his mother.

If the king happens to pardon his mother, Drew will never be on the list of those the king will ever pardon, whether now or in the future. He has vowed to put Drew to the sword on another full moon.

Princess Bonnie was leaning on the wooden door of the dungeon where her mother is precisely locked up. "Look who has decided to show up!" the queen mutters on seeing Bonnie. "You and your brother have left me here to die." "It might sound rude to say this to you at this time but sincerely speaking, you deserved it. You killed our father, your husband and you think you have any right to see the sky again?"

"I understand how you feel now about me child but it won't change the past. And keeping me here for long won't bring your father back."

"No one has the intention of keeping you here. My brother has singed your execution papers but I have pleaded with him to spare you. I don't know why I did it but one thing is certain, I am not a murderer like you, and never will I be." Queen Afi stood to her feet and draws closer to the wooden door of the dungeon. She has been sitting all this while listening to the princess. She then places her both hands on the wooden door and asked in a soft unstable voice. "What about Drew? What is his fate?"

"You should be worried about yourself because as soon as my brother decides to let you out, you are going on exile. Worry about that and not about Drew."

"Drew did not kill your father. I did and your brother should not execute him for the crime I commit."

"Save your breath. Even what you just said now is true; Drew is going down for betraying Maxis and several attempts to kill the king." Peeping through the wooden door hole, the princess gazes at her mother from the hole. "I have to go now." ...At the Underworld...

Hades & Persephone's Dwelling A thick cloud blasted the main gate of the underworld. And out of the cloud came flashes of lightning with rumblings of thunder. As the gatekeeper of the underworld looked, he saw a tall, clean-shaven and had an average, lean build and an eternally young woman, beautiful and vigorous, wearing a short costume that leaves her legs free. The woman was holding a bow and a quiver strapped at her back.

The gatekeeper quickly fixes all attention on Apollo and Artemis. "god Apollo and goddess Artemis, may your glory never seize. What brings you to the underworld?"

The name of the gatekeeper of the underworld is Cerberus. He has the body of a dog with shaggy bronze fur. Cerberus has multiple heads, three, with eyes that flash fire, jagged teeth, and three tongues per mouth. The gatekeeper also has a snake-headed tail, born from Echidna and Typhon.

Hades glanced at Apollo and Artemis. He was seated on his throne crossing his leg. He then switches his focus to Cerberus. "Did they force you to bring them before my presence? Why bring are they here unannounced?"
